Abstract

The research purpose was to know the effect of Jigsaw and Snowballing learning models, learning motivation and memory capacity of students toward student achievement.The samples of the research consisted of 2 classes from State Junior High School 1 Baki. The first experimental class treated with Jigsaw learning model and second experimental class treated with the Snowballing leraning model. The data was collected using test and questionere. The hypotheses were tested using Anova and continued by comparison test. From the data analysis can be concluded that 1) The achievement of student who learnt using Jigsaw was higher than them who learnt using Snowballing ; 2) The achievement of students who have higher learning motivation was higher than those who have lower learning motivation; 3) The achievement of students who have higher memory capacity was higher; 4) there was no interaction between the learning model with the learning motivation; 5) there was  interaction between learning model with the memory capacity on student achievement; 6) there was no interaction between learning motivation with the memory capacity on science learning achievement; 7) There was no interaction between cooperative learning with learning motivation and the memory capacity on science learning achievement. Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran Jigsaw dan Snowballing, Motivasi Belajar, Kemampuan Memori, Prestasi belajar.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) To determine the variation of which produces the best tempe manufacture of rubber seeds. 2) To determine the effect of fermentation on protein content in soybean seeds produced rubber. 3) To determine the effect of fermentation on the quality of flavor, color, odor, and texture of tempeh rubber seeds produced by organoleptic tests. 4) To determine the effect of fermentation on the application of research and the protein content of soybean seeds receive the rubber as the source of the material studied biology at the Food Biotechnology. Data results showed that the fermentation of soybean protein affect the levels of rubber seed (Hevea brasiliensis) is seen with Fhit (5.5147)> Ftab 5% (4.07) and test results of the Real Honest Differences (BNJ) to the protein content of soybean seeds rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) show that the treatment time of 36 h fermentation significantly different from treatment of 60 hours and 72 hours. The treatment time of 36 hours of fermentation produces the highest protein levels by an average of 8.5939%.       Kata kunci: Waktu fermentasi, kadar protein tempe, daya terima.

Abstract

A study using Research and Development design was conducted to produce a model of Biology hand book writing which is ecology and local oriented as an effort to increase students’ care toward environment. The background of this research is the reality which is  still going on untill now that the awareness and care of the school graduatee toward the environement safety is still low. Besides, hard science instructional at school could not affect or intervene the graduatee’s characteristics, for instance in keeping the environment awareness. Meanwhile, there are many concepts of environment which had been taught through hard science especially biology, so in the researcher’s point of view, biology subject has strategic role to prevent or mitigate the environment disaster caused by human activities. The model was validated at beach  ecosystem. The analysis of the research result includes three aspects, namely: 1) text comprehension, 2) environment care attitude, and 3) handbook readibility. Based on the result of beach ecosystem data analysis, it was found that (1) there was a significant difference between experimental class and control class in the beach ecosystem which is shown by tcalculation > ttable (7.429 > 2.00); (2) there was strong correlation between students’ comprehension and attitude which is shown by coeficient correlation (r) 0.634. While the text readability test (Cloze test) shown  the readability of beach ecosystem text is 57,57% (moderate). Therefore, it can be concluded that all of the texts in the developed book are fit and proper for SMA students of grade X. Kata kunci:  Penulisan buku ajar, orientasi ekologi dan lokal, kepedulian terhadap  lingkungan.

Abstract

The aim of this study to improve student critical thinking in immune system lesson using the different characteristic of multimedia. There are four characteristics of multimedia to compare in this study such as text (long text an short text), narration (yes or no), sound effect (yes or no), sparkle in animation of multimedia (yes or no).  This study is using the static group pretest-posttest design.  Which compare two type of multimedia that have a different characteristic to improve student critical thinking.  This study is to involved 66 student of science high school attending 11th grade.  They were devided two class; experimen-1 (n=31) and experimen-2 (n=3).  Data was collected from pretest and posttest on immune system lesson.  The result of this study shown that multimedia type 1 could improved student critical thingking on immune system lesson Kata kunci: Karakteristisk multimedia, berpikir kritis, sistem pertahanan tubuh

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to gain contextual teaching material in in general biology class. The type of this research is developmental research or Research and Development (R&D). Developmental model which is used in this research was adapted from Sugiyono and it was limited until the step of product’s test. The result of this research shows that the quality of contextual teaching material in biology subject which is developed by the expert of teaching design, the media expert, the biology lecturer, and the students who take this subject have a valid category with the following ideality scores: 4.076, 4.09, 4.19, and 4.03. The product of contextual teaching material should be revised to gain a better result.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the Laboratory of Science Education, University of Muhammadiyah Metro. The research is a descriptive analysis, morphological observations were made by identifying the nematode parasite found that Trichostrongylus sp, Strongyloides sp, Trichuris sp, Trichuris sp. The results showed the prevalence and intensity values is the large number of guinea pigs to parasites divided by the number of guinea pigs that are 100% inspected. While the intensity is seen from the total number of nematode parasites that infect in the number of guinea pigs infected with a parasite that is 2,3. The population in this study was 10 cows pigs (Cavia cobaya ) . This study took a part in the digestion of marmots (Cavia cobaya ) the intestines and stomach , then cut and taken part in the large intestine and be Indian ink or coloring 2-3 drops to be easily identified microscopically . Put the preparations into a petri dish , and given alcohol as much as 96 % with 2-3 drops . Taking part in the examination of the large intestine to taste then used the nematode worm structure with Indian ink dye to be observed , and placed in the glass object . Observed with a microscope. Document if the parasites are found by using the camera Erlina 2008. Identification of the observations made have found 3 types of parasites that attack the guinea pig (Cavia cobaya) is Strongyloides sp on samples 1,2,3,4,5,6 , dan10 . Then parasite Trichuris sp species found in samples 8 and 9. Trichostrongylus sp parasite species found in sample 7 . Parasitic nematodes found were 3 types of Trichostrongylus sp, Strongyloides sp, Trichuris sp. Number of samples that have been observed as many as 10 cows pigs (Cavia cobaya) , with the overall result is as much as 23 tails parasites.               Kata kunci: nematode parasit, marmut (Cavia cobaya), sumber belajar biologi.
