Abstract

The aims of the study was to apply the environment based learning model in an effort to improve students' science process skills. The research was conducted by the classroom action research on class X2 SMAN 2 Metro academic year 2011/2012 indicated that students' science process skills still have not shown good results. Because the achievement still under 50% with the percentage of students who reach the KKM (≥ 70%). The curriculum is currently implemented of KTSP where the teachers are required to be able to manage with the student centered learning. One model of learning which are student centered learning is environment based learning model. The results show that the science process skills increase from 50.00% to 79.45% increase of 29.45%. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the study uses a model-based learning environment can improve the skills sains process. Kata kunci:  Pembelajaran Berbasis Lingkungan, Keterampilan Proses Sains

Abstract

Abstract: Butterflies are insects that have a very important role in the ecosystem is as a helper in the pollination in plants. In addition butterfly can also be used as a bio-indicator to changes in environmental quality since butterflies are very sensitive to changes in the ecosystem. The existence of butterflies are under threat at this time step and extinction, this is due to the many forests are converted into other land. Diminishing forests and lands turned into settlement and agriculture. Butterfly existence will depend habitat. Butterfly habitat with the amount of food available is quite the diversity of butterflies is high.The aim of research to determine the diversity of butterflies in Batanghari River Plate in Metro City, the research method used is survey method with purporsive sampling. Butterfly collection done by sweeping follows the line transect technique is applied randomly along the 1000 m. After completion of the identification process we then held classification process. Species diversity index (H) is calculated using the Shannon-Wiener formula. Results of the study found as many as 23 species of butterflies of 5 familia, with the most dominant species is Eurema alitha as much as 136. The diversity of butterflies in the Batanghari River Plate in City Metro categorized bit or lower because it has the value H1 <1.

Abstract

Research on the distribution and colony size of nests of Nasutitermes sp. (Isoptera: Termitidae) have been conducted in Sebesi Island, Lampung. The method used in this study is a direct observation on the northern coast Sebesi Island. The results showed there were 60 nests of termite Nasutitermes sp. on the nine hosted tree species, i.e. Spandias sp., Leucaena leucocephala, Cocos nucifera, Caesalpinia pulcherrima, Moringa oleifera, Rhizophora apiculata, Delonix regia, Pandanus sp., and Morinda citrifolia. These termite nests vary in size. Direct counting on two nests indicates that colony size of Nasutitermes sp. on the nest sized 0.00828 m3 were 20,192 individuals and on the nest sized 0.1756 m3 were 35,086 individuals.The result of the the research gives contribution source of learning material in biology learning. Kata Kunci: Nasutitermes sp, rayap pohon, sebaran, ukuran sarang

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the effect of Project Based Learning (PjBL) to the attitude and student cognitive achievement in SMAN 2 Malang. This research applied quasy experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The populations of this research is all student of class X SMAN 2 Malang on academic year 2008/2009. The samples of this research were class X7 as experimental (PjBL) and class X8 as control (conventional). The instrument of this research namely cognitive achievement test and attitude scale questionnaire to river ecosystem. This research data are quantitative data consisted by score cognitive achievement and attitude scale questionnaire to river ecosystem, collected on 14 Maret until 31 May 2009. Data were analysed by bilinear covariant statistical analysis (Ancova), continued with LSD test. The result of this research indicated that there were PjBL toward the cognitive achievement and student attitude to river ecosystem. Students with PjBl having attitude higher 11,65% from conventional students. Beside, students with PjBl having cognitive achievement higher 81,05% from conventional students. Based on this research, the researcher suggest to the teacher that this strategy can be implemented in biology learning. Kata kunci: Project Based Learning, sikap terhadap ekosistem sungai, hasil belajar

Abstract

This study aims to get a dose of the best concentrations of liquid waste in order to produce rapid mycelial growth and production of white oyster mushrooms with optimal fresh weight. In this study using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) One Direction with four treatments, each treatment be repeated six times. The treatments tested were (A) the concentration of liquid waste 25%/L water/ treatment, (B) the concentration of liquid waste 30%/L water/treatment (C) concentration of liquid waste 35%/L water/treatment and (D) control. The results showed that the concentration of industrial wastewater know 25%/L water/highest treatment effect on the growth and production of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) with a mean weight of 129.33 gr fresh row A; B 105.5 gr; C 76.17 gr; and D 90.83 gr. The results could be used as a source of learning biology at the high school level with the subject matter of the class X Waste and Recycling Waste. In addition, this study also can be a reference for researchers and the general public. Kata Kunci: limbah cair, jamur, produksi, biologi.

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) develop students' science process skills class X2 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro. 2) enhance students' cognitive learning outcomes X2 class SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro. Subjects in this study were students SMA Muhammadiyah 1 X2-class Metro Lesson Year 2011/2012 on the subject matter of the world of plants (Plantae). The study was conducted on February 1 until March 7, 2012 to be implemented in two cycles. Each cycle of meetings held 3 times. The conclusion of the research are there was an increase from cycle I to cycle II . While the cognitive learning outcomes of students has increased from pre-PTK into the second cycle. In the pre-PTK is increased 60.6% to 65.3% in cycle I, and from cycle I is 65.3% increased to 77.2% in cycle II. Based on data from the study of learning with model-based learning environment to develop science process skills and improve cognitive learning outcomes in students, researchers therefore suggest to teachers to implement this model in the study of biological science. Kata Kunci: model pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan, keterampilan proses sains, hasil belajar kognitif
