Children with special needs are children who have abnormalities in him, thus causing the individual has a need to be tailored to their specific characteristics. Abnormalities of children with special needs, impact on the immediate environment of children, namely family. Many cases of divorce in parents who have children with special needs. The cause may be possible because of negative parents' perceptions of children, low acceptance and resilience in parents with special needs children. Divorced parents have a negative impact on the education of children with special needs, because they lose the ability to fully play a parent in fulfilling the rights of the child. One solution in dealing with divorce that occurs in parents who have children with special needs is to use family counseling and divorce therapy. Handling is expected to minimize the negative impact of divorce parents of children with special needs and prevent the occurrence of divorce cases in other families who have children with special needs.

The spirit of rights based approach calls for the meaningful involvement of people with disabilities in daily aspects of life and their participation is crucial if we want to build an inclusive and prosperous society. For achieving the aim of inclusion it becomes necessary to go by the slogan of disabled people's organizations i.e. Nothing about us, without us; this further defines the purpose of present paper which locates the perspectives of people with disabilities in terms of what it means to live with a disability. Much has been focussed on the opinions of caregivers when it comes to talking about people with disabilities thus keeping aside the insider's perspectives of living the phenomenon of disability. The lived experiences of people with disabilities is the need of an hour when across the globe thrust in on inclusion. The paper explores the identity, self-concept, self-consciousness, participation, sexuality, barriers, and employment, all seen through the eyes of the adults with disability. The adults with disabilities feel themselves as normal, want to be included by participating in social and economic domains and explore sexuality as non-disabled people; it is the presence of the barriers in social and environmental zones that hinder their inclusion. The databases searched included Google Scholar, Science Direct, Scopus, Elsevier, Proquest, Springer, and Sage; also the reference lists of journal articles were located.

In every society people with differences in their physiques and abilities are known as people with disabilities-People First Model, even in the Conventions about the Right of the People with Disabilities. This paper tries to study people with different physiques and abilities in Game of Thrones which is created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, an adaptation of George R. R. Martin's fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire. This article studies the Social Model of disability which has been organized as a one-dimensional standard society. This model focuses on disability as a social not individual problem. Based on social model of disability, this paper discusses diff-ability and introduces new binary opposition of diff-ability/sim-ability for disability/non-disability. Struggle between standard society for people with similar physiques and abilities and dis-standard society for people with different physiques and abilities which is obvious in this novel, clearly illustrates how the environment of the society affects the fate and the condition of these people. Considering universal popularity of Game of Thrones and the fact that choice of characters with different physiques and abilities can hardly be incidental and that literary works as cultural artifacts and binary oppositions, which are culturally constructed, this paper attempts to transform negative attitudes of society and create positive attitudes toward this population. Positive terminologies, by emphasizing on abilities, create positive attitudes toward people with different physiques and abilities, and negative terminologies produce negative ones. The disability is a kind of "problem" which has source in society. By making society standard for the diff-abled, they would be able as well as the sim-abled people.

An Analyiss of Pre-Service Teacher Education for Inclusion of Children With Hearing Impairment Okwaput, Stackus

Proponents of inclusion in special needs education argue that it is a human right for children with special needs to attain education with their ordinary peers. Underlying inclusion is the assumption thast teachers have the knowledge for addressing the diverse needs of learners in their classrooms. This study explored the provisions that might enable pre-service teacher trainees in Uganda to acquire knowledge for implementing inclusion for children with hearing impairment and the challenges that may hinder them from achieving that goal. The sample consisted of five teacher trainers and six teacher trainees. Data was collected using focus group discussions and interviews and analyzed following the thematic analysis procedures. The findings show that trainees might acquire knowledge for implementing inclusion from provisions made in the syllabus for special needs education and the college. Challenges in the teacher education system and negative attitudes may, however, hinder the achievement of this goal.

Efforts to Improve Basic Motion Capabilities Non-Locomotor for Double Handicap Student Using Adaptive Game Application Forestry, Silmi

The purpose of this study was to improve non-locomotor basic movement capability by applying adaptive games for multiple handicapped students of Class IV SLB A YKAB Surakarta in 2015.The method used in this study was experimental method using single subject research (SSR). Subject is multiple handicapped of blind and celebral palsy spectrum. This study employed A-B-A design involving three stages. The first was deciding baseline 1; the second was giving intervention; and the last was measuring the baseline 2. The data were colected through observations and analyzed using the analysis technique of descriptive qualitative data.The results of this study indicated that the scores got from observations were improved. The improvement was showed by the measurement of baseline 1 in which the average score was 57.8, then after the intervention of applying adaptive games, the average score was improved to 81.56. Moreover, the average score from baseline 2 which was not given any intervention was78.75. Based on the results of this study, the application of adaptive games can improve non-locomotor basic movement capability on multiple handicapped students of Class IV SLB A YKAB Surakarta in 2015.

Impact of Project Based Learning Learning Model on the Ability of Deaf Children to Build the Structure of Sentence Zakiah, Winda Greatta

Hearing impairment had impact to the students' speech ability. Students had hindrance to the communication process especially in sentence structure causing the sentence difficult to understand. The aim of this research is to examine the effect ofÂ project based learning model on the sentence structure of children with hearing impairment. Design of this research is pre-experiment One Group Pretest-Posttets Design. Subjects of the research are 7 children with hearing impairment grade 5 at SLB B YRTRW Surakarta. The data collection techniques were objective and subjective written test, and oral test. The data analysis technique using non-parametric statistical analysis method, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with SPSS 22. The result shows that the average score in post-test 61.6 higher than the pretest 31.15. The result of this research was significant influence ofÂ project based learning toward sentence structure of children with hearing impairment grade 5 in SLB B YRTRW Surakarta year 2017/2018.

Access and Utilization of Information and Communication Technology by Students With Visual Impairment in Uganda's Public Universities Ojok, Patrick

The centrality of information and communication technology in enhancing inclusive teaching and learning makes their access and use an imperative for all students at all levels of education.Persons with visual impairment tend to face major barriers in using the same ICT devices that ordinary persons and other disabled persons can use. A quantitative study was conducted with 35 students with visual impairment enrolled in two public universities in Uganda to explore the extent to which they accessed and utilized ICTs. Data was collected using face-to-face interviews and analyzed using IBM SPSS version 20. The study found that most of the students were intermediate ICT users (40%) or beginners (37%), while a majority (70.4%) connected to the internet via WIFI hotspots. More than half of the students (60%) knew that their university had an e-learning platform, but a majority of the students had never uploaded/downloaded any learning materials from their universities' websites.Â Less than half of the students (46%) were confident to produce text using a word processing program but only few could use power point (12%) and excel (8.6%) applications. To improve students with disabilities' access and use of ICTs, multiple actions are required, including equipping departments with computers, ensuring the computers are in accessible locations, giving the students opportunity to practice, and purchasing licensed adapted software applications.

Exploring the Accessibility and Facility in Railway Station Used by Persons With Disabilities: an Experience From Kebayoran Railway Station, Jakarta Tamba, Jefri

This paper discusses accessibility at Kebayoran Railway Station's facility for persons with disabilities. Kebayoran Railway Station as one of Railway Stations on Tanah Abang, Rangkasbitung railway track, which has been revitalized in 2016. A descriptive approach used in this research and found that currently, Kebayoran Railway Station has been more accessible for persons with disabilities. The results indicate that some disability's facilities consist of: (a) toilet; (b) safe pick-up and set-down facility; (c) facility for persons with disability; (d) other facility (tactile paving). The Minister of Transportation Decree 47 Year 2014 regarding Minimum Service Standard for Train Public Transportation at Kebayoran Railway Station facilities is one of the guidelines for PT. KAI Commuter Jabodetabek in building facilities in the station. In this case, Kebayoran Railway Station has implemented the Minister of Transportation's Decree and makes it easy for some persons with disabilities to use the facilities at the railway station.

Factors Influencing Successful Employment for Men With Visual Impairment Budiarti, Menik

Introduction: This study investigated experiences of men with visual impairment in Indonesia as they responded to challenges in employment. Method: The study was qualitative, using in-depth interviews.Â The participants were employed men with visual impairment and married to a sighted woman, selected using snowball sampling. The visual impairment was acquired before employment and marriage, but no specific exclusion criteria for the visual impairment. Thirty-nine participants were interviewed for one hour each in their native language of Bahasa Indonesia using semi-structured questions. The interviews were transcribed, translated, and analysed. Results: Five factors and seventeen sub factors were found: institutional settings, family support, social support, personal traits, and employment arrangements. Discussion: The study found that there are factors that play a positive role for some participants, but a negative role for others. Improvement in certain factors is needed in order to develop better employment for people with visual impairment in Indonesia. Limitations of this study were: the number of participants, the locations of study, and the criteria of visual impairment. Implications for Practitioners: Improving the education system, optimal implementation of the employment quota system, developing personal traits, and improving awareness to trigger better family and social network support, would be beneficial for future employment of people with visual impairment.

Improving the Accessible Facilities for Disability at Mini Market KPRI, Brawijaya University Sugiono; Lukodono, Rio Prasetyo; Azhari, Tanwirul

Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No. 30 of 2006 on Technical Guidance of Facility and Accessibility on Building and Environment, explains that arrangement of lay-out facility in building must support enough space and circulation for persons with disability and / elderly, including KPRI-UB. KPRI-UB is a shopping place that belongs to the public then it is required to follow the regulation. But in fact, it has not been able to provide adequate access, both from the aspect of facility layout and shelf size. The purpose of this study is to provide proposed layout and proposal size shopping shelves in accordance with the needs of difable consumer in KPRI-UB. The research design used is quantitative with descriptive approach. The result that can be used as a recommendation to design facility which is accessible for difable is change of layout design from shelf contained in KPRI, ramp design, and device used by difables to call help to the operator.
