Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan Jigsaw pada materi sistem reproduksi manusia. Metode penelitian adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain kontrol grup tes awal dan tes akhir. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada kelas XI IPA 3 menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD dan kelas XI IPA 1 menggunakan model kooperatif tipe Jigsaw di MAN I Takengon. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes hasil belajar. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan mengumpulkan data kemampuan awal siswa (pre-test), data kemampuan akhir siswa (post-tes), data peningkatan pemahaman konsep (N-Gain). Analisis data hasil belajar menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen STAD dan Jigsaw diperoleh t hitung 25,20 dan t tabel 1,65. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen STAD dan Jigsaw. Kata Kunci: Kooperatif tipe STAD, Jigsaw, Sistem Reproduksi Manusia. This research is aimed to know the difference of study result using cooperative study model for STAD and Jigsaw type in the material of human reproduction system material. The research method is experiment method with one control group design for beginning and ending test. It has been done at XI IPA 3 class using cooperative model of STAD type and XI IPA 1 class using cooperative model of Jigsaw type at MAN 1 Takengon. Instruments used are study result test. Data collecting techniques by collecting data of students beginning capability (pre test), data of students ending capability (post test), data of concept understanding improvement (N-Gain). Data analysis of study result was using t-test. The result showed that students’ study result of STAD and Jigsaw experiment class gives t-counted is 25,20 and t-table is 1,65. The conclusion of this research was, there was a student study result difference between STAD experiment class and Jigsaw. Keyword: CooperativeSTAD, Jigsaw, Reproductive System.

Abstract

Metamofosis adalah keseluruhan rangkaian perubahan bentuk dan ukuran sejak telur sampai menjadi dewasa (imago). Perkembangan metamorphosis sangat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor. Pada lalat buah (Drosophilla melanogaster) proses perkembangan metamorphosis sangat dipengaruhi oleh media biakannya. Media biakan ini selain tempat hidup lalat buah juga sebagai sumber makanan dari mulai larva hingga imago. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media biakan alami terhadap metamorphosis lalat buah (Drosophilla melanogaster) serta untuk menyediakan referensi pembelajaran pada matakuliah Pekembangan Hewan. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Biologi (Unit Mikrobiologi) Fakultas Tarbiyah IAIN Ar-Raniry. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) lama waktu (hari) yang dibutuhkan telur menjadi larva, larva menjadi pupa, pupa menjadi dewasa. (2) Suhu dan kelembaban. (3) Analisis kandungan nutrisi pada nanas dan pepaya. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dalam bentuk narasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses metamorfosis pada media biakan pepaya lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan media biakan nanas. Perbedaan terjadi pada fase penetasan telur. Pada media biakan papaya metamorfosis terjadi selama 7 hari, sedangkan pada media biakan nanas terjadi selama 8 hari. Kata Kunci: Media Biakan Alami, Metamorphosis dan Lalat Buah Metamorphosis is the overall of transformation cycle and size from the egg until adult (imago). The growth of metamorphosis very influenced by various factors. For fruitfly (Drosophilla melanogaster), the growth process of metamorphosis was very influenced by its breeding media. This Breeding media besides used as the place to live in for fruitfly, it is also as the source of food for larva to imago. This research were intended to know the influence of natural breeding media to fruitfly metamorphosis (Drosophilla melanogaster) and to provide study reference for Growth of Animal course. This Research have been executed in Biological Laboratory (Microbiological Unit) Faculty of Tarbiyah of IAIN Ar-Raniry. This research used descriptive method. The parameters used in this research were: 1). time spent (day) for egg to become larva, larva to become pupa and pupa to become adult. 2). Temperature and humidity. 3). Analysis of nutritious from pineapple and papaya. The data of this research were analyzed descriptively. The results indicated that the process of metamorphosis was quiker at breeding media of papaya than pineapple one. The difference occurred at the phase of egg hatching. At the breeding media of papaya, the metamorphosis occurred in 7 days, while at pineapple breeding media, it occurred in 8 days. Keywords: Natural Breeding Media, Metamorphosis and Fruitfly

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ motivation and learning outcomes by PCP strategies on plant tissue material in class XI Science of SMA Negeri 4 Ambon. This research is a classroom action research design. The learning activities are divided into 2 cycles and refer to the John Elliot (1988) model which consists of four stages of action in each cycle. The results showed there was an increase in students’ motivation and learning outcomes from the first cycle to the second cycle, where student motivation reached 80% in the first cycle, and in the second cycle increased to 87%. The percentage of the students’ number who completed learning in the first cycle is 64%, that increased in the second cycle to 84%. The percentage increase of students’ motivation and learning outcomes has reached a success indicator so it can be concluded that the application of biology learning by using a PCP (Point Counter Point) strategy can increase the motivation and learning outcomes of students on plant tissue material of Class XI Science  in SMA Negeri 4 Ambon.

Abstract

Oral and oral hygiene is a condition that is free of disorders that can affect the level of oral hygiene such as plaque and tartar. Brushing teeth can prevent the occurrence of food debris on the sidelines of teeth and tooth surfaces. Based on preliminary interviews on 10 children MIN 9 Banda Aceh, 7 of them frequency and time brushing teeth is not true, because they brush their teeth only in the morning when bathing in the morning only. From the preliminary examination conducted by the authors on 10 students, 6 of them had mean bad OHI-S (3.5), and 3 of them had average moderate OHI-S (1,3), and 1 of them had flat good OHI-S (0.8). This study aims to determine the description of toothbrushing to the level of oral hygiene in grade V students in MIN 9 Banda Aceh. This research is descriptive, conducted on 13 June to 14 June 2013. The population is 35 students MIN 9 Banda Aceh. The sample in this research is 35 students. The results showed that the dental and oral hygiene status in terms of tooth brushing frequency in the students of MIN 9 Banda Aceh City has OHI-S criteria being as many as 10 people (58.8%). While the status of dental and oral hygiene in terms of how to brush teeth on Elementary School students Lameu Sakti district Pidie has OHI-S criteria are as many as 9 people (56.3%). And dental and oral hygiene status in terms of brushing time on students MIN 9 Banda Aceh city has OHI-S criteria being as many as 10 people (58.8%). It can be concluded that students who brush once-daily teeth have moderate OHI-S criteria and students who brush their teeth in the morning bath also have moderate OHI-S criteria. It is suggested to students of MIN 9 Banda Aceh to pay more attention to oral hygiene.

Abstract

This study was designed to identify the misconceptions in biology textbooks of class XI used by the students of senior high school in Banda Aceh. The method used was descriptive method. The instrument used was observation sheet. The results showed that the Biology textbooks used by the students have some misconceptions. The highest misconceptions was found in the topic of skeletal system (27%), circulatory system (25%) and the lowest one was found in the topic of cell (9%).

Abstract

Mollusca is the second largest phylum of invertebrate animals that has high adaptability. One of Mollusca's habitats is the mangrove ecosystem in Baitussalam District, Aceh Besar. There were very little data regarding the type and diversity of Mollusca in the mangrove ecosystem area of Baitussalam Subdistrict, Aceh Besar, after the tsunami in 2004. A study is needed considering that the data can be used as a database and supporting reference for biodiversity material in schools. This study was carried out to; 1) Identifies the types of Mollusca in the mangrove ecosystem in Baitussalam District, Aceh Besar; 2) Determines the output of this study as a reference for supporting biodiversity learning; and 3) Finds out the feasibility of the output as supporting reference for biodiversity material. Data collection was performed by line transect and quadrant transect method with purposive sampling. Data was analyzed with qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the study revealed that there are 29 types of Mollusca consisting of Gastropods and Bivalves. The output is in the form of a national standard textbook that can be used as a reference for supporting biodiversity learning. The book feasibility test obtained a total score of 95.6%. The conclusion is that there are 29 types of Mollusca and the output is a national standard textbook that are very feasible to be recommended as a supporting reference for biodiversity material.

Abstract

One of vector borne deseases which still remains a health problem in Indonesia is dengue fever (DBD). This desease is caused by dengue virus transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. One of cities which is endemic for DBD in 2014 was Banda Aceh. The indicator for DBD endemic is based on entomology index. One of entomology index to be measured is the number of mosquito larvae-free. To know the status of mosquito larvae-free number in Banda Aceh, a suvey has been conducted in three subdistricts within Banda Aceh city, namely Banda Raya (Lamlagang village), Ulee Kareng (Ceurih village), and Baiturrahman (Peuniti village). A survey was conducted in 100 houses of every subdistrict. The total of 300 houses were investigated. From 300 houses investigated, there were 158 houses were positively had mosquito larvae. From 860 containers that were found and checked in those three subdistricts, it was found that there were 235 containers were positively contained mosquito larvae. The container which contained mosquito larvae dominantly was bathups inside the houses, there were 48,22% of larvae and 60,47% of pupas. The results showed that the number of mosquito larvae-free for Banda aceh was 47,33% which indicated that it was still below the number of national larvae-free that is > 95%. Therefore, Banda Aceh is still in a high risk of DBD transmission in the future.

Abstract

The purposes of this research was to know students’ learning activity at class VII MTsN Kuta Baro, Aceh Besar in the concept of environmental pollution and destruction by using cooperative jigsaw model. This is a quasi-experimental research with pretest – post test control group design. It has been conducted at MTsN Kuta Baro, Aceh Besar district at class VII-4 by using cooperative jigsaw model and class VII-3 by using conventional learning. The data were collected by using observation sheet and then analyzed by using average and percentage techniques. The results showed that the percentage of students’ learning activity in the experimental class in forming the group was 98%, learning material in group was 93% dan discussing was 89%. Meanwhile, in control class, the activity in forming the group was 88%, learning material in group was 85% and discussing was 83%. It can be concluded that students’ leaning activity in the concept of environmental pollution and destruction by using cooperative jigsaw model (average was 85.81) was higher than conventional learning activity (average was 78.16).

Abstract

This study aimed at figuring out the increase of student thinking skills through the preparation of questions. The population of the research was all of four-semester students of Biology Department of Teacher Training and Education (Tarbiyah) Faculty of IAIN Ar-Raniry in academic year 2012/2013. The sample then selected 29 students. The method used was experimental research. The researcher taught by using Questioning Reading and Answering learning model. Students are asked to read the course topic and then prepare substantial questions from the reading. The assigned materials were Bryophyta and Pteridophyta. The test of thinking skill followed the rubric of knowledge dimensions and cognitive process dimensions of Anderson and Karthwohl. The results showed an increase in thinking ability of students toward the higher level thinking ability. Thus the application of the Reading Questioning and Answering model can improve thinking ability of students in Botany Cryptogamae course.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the effect of the development of learning tools through a web-based SQ3R strategy to the improvement of students’ learning motivation in the concept of defense system of the body at class XI of MAS Jeumala Amal of Pidie Jaya (a private Senior High School). The data were collected from April 4th to May 11th, 2016 in the even semester of the school year 2015-2016. A quasi-experimental method is implemented with qualitative and quantitative approach. This study was conducted in four classes. Two classes were chosen for experimental class which consisted of 30 male students of IPA 3 and 30 female students of IPA 6. Meanwhile, two other classes were chosen as control class, they were 30 male students of IPA 1 and 30 female students of IPA 4. The instrument used was learners’ motivation questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using Kruskal-Wallis test with SPSS 17.0 for Windows at significant level of 0.05. The Chi-test results showed that the P-value < critical limit in which learning motivation was 0.000
