Abstract

Lhoknga subdistrict is an area that has a habitat for many species of fauna, including birds. References about species of birds in some habitats are still very limited. Therefore, it is necessary to make a research on bird species in several types of habitat in the district of Lhoknga. The aim of the research is to figure out birds species in several types of habitats in the Lhoknga subdistrict. The data were collected by using the point count method and line transects. The results showed that there were 39 species of birds from 21 families found in Lhoknga district. Based on the PP. No. 07 of 1999, it was found that there were 14 species of protected birds in Lhoknga subdistrict.

Abstract

Telah dilaksanakan penelitian tentang “Penerapan pendekatan STM (Sains Teknologi Masyarakat) pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan sikap peduli lingkungan di SMA Negeri 4 Wira Bangsa Meulaboh”. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan STM dan tanpa STM. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 4 Wira Bangsa Meulaboh, berjumlah 80 siswa yang berasal dari 3 kelas. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 2 kelas yang ditentukan secara random sampling terdiri dari kelas eksperimen (dengan pendekatan STM) dan kelas kontrol (tanpa pendekatan STM). Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan tes hasil belajar, tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t Hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh thitung hasil belajar = 8,62, thitung kemampuan berpikir kritis = 11,15, dan thitung Karena harga thitung > ttabel maka Ha diterima dan harga thitung < ttabelmaka Ha ditolak artinya ada perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan pembelajaran STM dan tanpa pendekatan STM pada materi pencemaran lingkungan di SMA Negeri 4 Wira Bangsa Meulaboh. Kata Kunci: Pendekatan STM, dan Pencemaran Lingkungan A research entitled, "The application of the STM approach (Science Technology Society) on the concept of environmental pollution to improve learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, and attitudes of environmental care in SMA 4 Wira Bangsa Meulaboh " has been conducted. The purposes of this study were to find out differences in students’ learning outcomes and critical thinking skills on environmental pollution material by using STM approach. This research used quasi-experimental method. The population of this study was all of students class X of SMA Negeri 4 Wira Bangsa Meulaboh. There were 80 students from three classes. The samples were chosen randomly that consisted of two classes namely experimental class and control class. The instruments used were test for learning outcome and test for critical thinking skills. The data then analyzed by using t-test. The results of t-test for learning outcomes was 8.62, meanwhile, t-test of critical thinking skills was 11.15. Since t-count > t-table, thus Ha is accepted. If t-count < t- table then, Ha is rejected. It means there were some differences on students’ learning outcome and critical thinking skills after learning environmental pollution material by using STM approach and without using it. Abstract

This study aims to determine student learning outcomes and student responses to PQ4R learning strategies in evolutionary studies. To find out the obstacles that might be found. This research is a class action research design. These results are based on the opinions of Thomas and Robinson; the PQ4R strategy is used to help students understand the contents of the reading and remember the material they have read. The results of this study indicate that the learning process of students in evolutionary material in biology learning with PQ4R learning strategies can complete their learning outcomes and increase the level of student mastery. From the overall learning outcomes for two cycles, the student learning outcomes in evolutionary material by applying the PQ4R learning strategy can improve learning outcomes with completeness percentage of cycle I is 78.57% and cycle II is 85.71%, the element of student interest in cycle I is 45.8% and cycle II 51.8%. The improvement of students 'abilities in evolutionary material through PQ4R learning strategies shows that there is an increase in students' learning motivation through diligence in doing assignments, showing interest in learning, pleasure in working individually and in groups, being able to maintain opinions and looking for and solving questions in evolutionary material.

Abstract

A study on the inventory of types of plants used for traditional medicine in South Kluet Subdistrict has been conducted. It aimed to find out the types of plants used as traditional medicine in South Kluet subdistrict. The data were collected by using survey and interview method. The data were analyzed by using qualitative analytic by displaying the form of tables and drawings with local name and scientific name of plants. The results showed that there were 56 species of plants from 34 families were used as medicinal plants in South Kluet subdistrict area. These plants are used by the community to treat and prevent diseases, both internal and external diseases such as fever, cough, headache, stomach pain, colds, seizures and itching of the skin. The types of plants that are often used for medicine are crown plants of gods, sambiloto, god leaves, bandotan, jeringau, and other plant species from familia of Zingiberraceae.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the genus of coral and coral diseases in the coral reef ecosystem of Tuan Island Peukan Bada, Aceh Besar District. The data of coral genera were gathered by using point intercept transect method, whereas, the data of coral diseases were gathered by using survey method. The data were identified by using handbook and then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were 5 coral genera found in Tuan Island Pekan Bada namely: Acropora, Montipora, Pocillopora, Porites, and Goniastrea. Meanwhile, coral diseases that are found in Tuan Island were ulcerative white spots, growth anomalies of an unknown cause, sediment damage, alga overgrowth, pink line disease dan pigmentation responses. The conclusion of this study were (1) the coral reefs that were found in Tuan Island Peukan Bada, Aceh Besar District consisted of 5 genera, and (2) coral diseases in Tuan Island consisted of 6 types of diseases.

Abstract

Kedelai (Glycine max) merupakan salah satu tanaman pangan yang dibudidayakan. Kebutuhan kedelai yang selalu meningkat setiap tahun mendorong usaha peningkatan terhadap produksi kedelai. Upaya peningkatan produksi dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan pupuk hayati dan memanfaatkan lahan yang kurang produktif di Indonesia. Pupuk hayati yang digunakan mengandung isolat Bradyrhizobium japonicum sebagai penambat nitrogen dan Aeromonas salmonicida sebagai pelarut fosfat. Isolat yang terdapat dalam pupuk hayati diharapkan dapat membantu pertumbuhan kedelai di tanah asam dengan menyediakan unsur nitrogen dan fosfat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk hayati yang terdiri atas B. japonicum (BJ 11 wt) dan A. salmonicida pada penanaman kedelai di tanah asam. Tanaman percobaan dibuat dalam empat kelompok, yaitu dengan inokulasi Isolat BJ 11 (wt), PP, BJ 11 ditambah dengan PP, dan tanpa inokulasi (kontrol). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi B. japonicum dan A. salmonicida cenderung dapat meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan tanaman, jumlah daun, dan bobot kering akar. Kata Kunci: Bradyrhizobium japonicum, Aeromonas salmonicid, Tanah Masam dan Kedelai Soybean (Glycine max) is one of cultivated food crops. Since the need of soybean is always increased every year, it needs some efforts to improve soybean production. One of the steps can be done is by using biofertilizer in a less productive land such as acid soil. Biofertilizer that used in this study consist of Bradyrhizobium japonicum as nitrogen fixation and Aeromonas salmonicida as phosphate solubilizer bacteria (PP). Isolates contained in the biological fertilizer is expected to help the growth of soybean in acid soils by providing elements of nitrogen and phosphate. The aim of this research was to know the effect of using biofertilizer consisted of B. japonicum (BJ 11 wt) and A. salmonicida (PP) to soybean growth in acid soils. The experiment was arranged with four group treatments that were inoculation with BJ 11 (wt), PP, BJ 11 plus PP, and without inoculation (as control). The results showed that the application of B. japonicum and A. salmonicida as inoculant mixture tend to increase plant growth, leaf number, and dry root weight. Abstract

This study aims to find out the students’ mastery learning outcomes in learning biology on the concept of human respiratory system by using images media in MTsN Jongar Aceh Tenggara Regency. The method used was Quasi Experimental Research with one group pretest-posttest design. The samples of this research were students class VIII/A of MTsN Jongar Aceh Tenggara Regency. The data were collected by using test, namely pre-test and post-test. They were analyzed by using descriptive quantitative technique. The results showed that students’ mastery learning outcpme classically was 89,47% with the criteria of minimum passing grade was 75. It can be concluded that media images could increase the students’ mastery in learning biology on the concept of human respiratory system at MTsN Jongar Aceh Tenggara Regency.

Abstract

A classroom action research entitled“The use of beads as simple propsas an effort to improvethe achievement of studentsClass XII Science at SMAN 4 Tanah Jambo Aye, Aceh Utara regencyon the concept of DNA” has been conducted in the first semester of the school year 2014/2015. The research aims to find out the effect of the use of beads as simple props as an effort to improve the achievement of studentsclass XII Scienceat SMA 4Tanah Jambo Aye Aceh Utara districton the concept of DNA The method used was classroom action research (PTK), which consisted of 2 cycles. The subject of this research was 30 students of class XII,science (IPA1) of SMAN 4 Tanah Jambo Aye in odd semester academic year 2014/2015.The data were analyzed by using comparative descriptive analysis techniques by comparing the initial conditions with the results achieved from each cycles and using qualitative descriptive analysis by comparing the results of observations and reflection on the first cycle and the second cycle. The results showed that the use of beads as simple props can improve the achievement of students class XII Science of SMA 4Tanah Jambo Aye, Aceh Utara district on DNA material. It can be seen fromthe improvement of students’ mastery learning in the first cycle was 66.67%, while the second cycle was 93.33%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kualitas proses belajar melalui pendekatan cooperative learning berorientasi forward looking sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar mata diklat Mengendalikan Hama Tanaman. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari 3 (tiga) siklus. Langkah-langkah dalam setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan (planning), pelaksanaan (acting), pengamatan (observing), dan refleksi (reflecting). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebelum ada intervensi tindakan cooperative learning berorientasi forward looking hasil belajar pada ulangan harian pertama, nilai rata-rata siswa adalah 6,0. Setelah dilakukan intervensi secara berturut-turut selama tiga siklus, nilai aspek kognitif berangsur meningkat. Pada siklus pertama nilai rata-rata 6,6, pada siklus kedua 6,7 dan pada siklus ketiga 7,1. Presentase ketuntasan siklus pertama 30%, siklus kedua 50% dan siklus ketiga 75%. Setelah diselenggerakan remidiasi menjadi tuntas 100% dengan nilai berkisar 7,0 sampai 8,0. Perkembangan tugas rumah, unjuk kerja, dan laporan praktek selalu meningkat antara 7,0 sampai 9,0. Ketuntasan pada aspek sikap masih rendah, pada siklus pertama 5,3%, siklus kedua 18,4% dan siklus ketiga 34,2%. Pada akhir periode penelitian, ternyata ada 14 peserta didik yang memenuhi standar kompetensi atau baru mencapai 36,8%. Kata Kunci: Pendekatan CLFL (Cooperative Learning Berorientasi Forward Looking), Hasil Belajar, dan Mengendalikan Hama This research aimed at improving students’ learning outcomes by implementing cooperative learning forward-looking-oriented in the material of plants’ pest. This is a Classroom Action Research which consisted of three cycles. The steps in each cycles were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The results showed that before treatment of cooperative learning forward-looking oriented, the students’ learning outcomes for the first daily test got the average score of 6.0. After the treatment in three cycles, the average score of cognitive aspect was increased gradually, they were 6.6, 6.7 and 7.1. The Percentage of completeness for the first cycle was 30%, meanwhile, the second and the third ones were 50% and 75%. After remedial was conducted, the percentage of completeness reaches 100% with scores range from 7.0 to 8.0. The development of homeworks, performance, and practice report were improved from 7.0 to 9.0. The completeness of the aspects of attitude was still low. It reached 5.3% in the first cycle, 18.4% in the second, and 34.2% in the third one. At the end of the study, there were 14 students who met the standards of competence or only reached 36.8%. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui upacara adat, jenis tumbuhan yang digunakan, pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap pemanfaatan tumbuhan yang digunakan pada upacara adat suku Aceh di Provinsi Aceh. Penelitianini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober sampai dengan Desember 2016 pada masyarakat suku Aceh (Aceh Utara, Pidie dan Aceh Besar) di Provinsi Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey eksploratif dan Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada suku Aceh terdapat upacara adat kelahiran, pernikahan, kematian dan beberapa upacara adat lain seperti sunat rasul, kenduri blang, kenduri padee bijeh, kenduri jeurat, peusijuk naik haji, rumah baru dan kendaraan baru. Upacara adat suku Aceh menggunakan 28 jenis tumbuhan antara lain: 11 jenis tumbuhan yang digunakan pada upacara penyambutan kelahiran, 20 jenis pada upacara perkawinan dan 11 jenis tumbuhan pada upacara kematian. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang penggunaan dan makna simbolik dari tumbuhan yang digunakan pada upacara adat sangat baik.
