Abstract

In an era where digital transformation is increasingly imperative, many industries struggle to navigate the complexities of technological adoption and operational efficiency. Lean principles, which emphasize waste reduction and process optimization, provide a robust foundation for digital transformation, particularly in the chemical industry, where unique operational challenges exist. This research aims to develop an integrated Lean 4.0 readiness assessment tool to bridge the gap between leanness and Industry 4.0 readiness. The study begins with a literature review on existing lean and Industry 4.0 readiness measurement tools and integrates them to create a new framework, using the Indonesia Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (INDI 4.0) as a reference, tailored specifically to the chemical industry. Expert interviews are conducted to refine the assessment tool, ensuring alignment with real-world industry conditions and practical insights. A Delphi-based expert consensus method combined with a fuzzy approach for handling imprecision in indicator ratings is employed to validate the framework, resulting in five key dimensions and 86 indicators. By gathering expert input, the tool addresses the chemical industry’s specific challenges and simplifies readiness evaluation, helping companies assess their preparedness for digital transformation and identify areas for improvement. The resulting framework enables chemical companies to bridge readiness gaps and prioritize targeted enhancements. Furthermore, this tool has the potential to serve as a scalable model for other industries, fostering more efficient and strategic digital transformation aligned with Industry 4.0 objectives globally.

Abstract

One-door container type of vehicle is the main tool for urban logistics in Indonesia which may take the form of truck, car, or motorcycle container. The operations would be more effective when it is performed through pickup-delivery or forward-reverse at a time. However, there is difficulty to optimize the operation of routing and container loading processes in such a system. This article is proposing an improvement for algorithm for sequential routing- loading process which had been tested in the small datasets but not yet tested in the case of big data set and vehicle routing problem with time windows. The improvement algorithm is tested in big data set with the input of the vehicle routing problem with time windows (VRP-TW) using the solution optimization of the Simulated Annealing process with restart point procedure (SA-R) for the routing optimization and Genetic Algorithm (GA) to optimize the container loading algorithm. The large data sets are hypothetical generated data for 800-2500 single-sized products, 4 types of container capacity, and 100-400 consumer spots. As result, the performance of the proposed algorithm in terms of cost is influenced by the number of spots to be visited by the vehicle and the vehicle capacity. Limitations and further analysis are also described in this article.

Abstract

Risk is a possibility of the occurrence that may affect the achievement of objectives. Risk can give positive or negative effect. One of the jobs that have a high risk is firefighter job. Furthermore, a firefighter who are disciplined, responsible, and good in team work, they must be given a reward for their motivation. Therefore, the compensation that they get is equal with the potential risk and working achievement. The compensation of the risk and achievement is included in the extra payment of dangerous work (hazard pay) and bonus based on working achievement of an employee (merit pay). Comparing to the old system, the compensation system will increase the firefighters' income from Rp 900.000 to Rp 1.297.280 every month. The addition will also increase the budget of Damkar from Rp 550.800.000 to Rp 793.935.156 every year.

Abstract

Increased competition in the industrial world forces companies to increase their competitiveness through Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM). The key to the success of GSCM is the selection of suppliers and the allocation of the proper order by taking into account environmental aspects. This decision involves several criteria and must also pay attention to the relationship between criteria. This study proposes a hybrid procedure to solve Green Supplier Selection and Order Allocation (GSSOA). The integration of Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), Analytic Network Process (ANP), and Multi-Criteria Goal Programming (MCGP) are proposed to solve this problem. The DEMATEL is used to calculate the relationship between criteria. Furthermore, the ANP is proposed to determine the weight of the criteria and supplier ranking. Finally, the MCGP method is offered for allocating orders based on priority suppliers. A case study on the food industry in Malang, Indonesia, was conducted to apply this procedure. The results showed that the low defects rate criterion is the most important compared to other criteria. The best supplier was successfully selected, and the order allocation was completed. Order allocation priority is to suppliers D, C, A, and B. This study also presents a sensitivity analysis for order allocation.

Abstract

CV ABB is a medium scale car rental company which manages around 150 vehicles consists of small car (sedan or MPV) until large bus. To supporting the maintenance of all vehicles, they build a warehouse for spareparts and tools. Unfortunately, the management of warehouse does not have a good governance because all records done manually. This situation creates very high risk for data manipulation because manual record method is done by warehouse officer, lost of spare part in warehouse, counterfeit receipt, and no system to control spare part in warehouse. An improvement need to be done by implementing a warehouse management information system to overcome this problem. By applying information system analysis and design concepts and implementing through the application of PHP7 and MySQL, the new system can control all spare part in warehouse including incoming and outgoing spare part, PIC who requests the spare part, checking stock of spare part in the warehouse and stock out used by finance to make purchase order, spare part report from supplier and spare part request report. This system is also able to help finance to create purchase order and get approval from the user in order to make the process is more transparent and accountable.
