Abstract

Fry availability is an important factor in the cultivation of Sangkuriang catfish. Continuity of fry availability is determined by the number of hatching eggs. The low of hatching rate mainly caused by the Saprolegnia sp. attack. One attempt to overcome the Saprolegnia sp. attack on fish eggs is by using Kecombrang flowers (Nicolia speciosa Horan). Anti-fungal compounds contained in Kecombrang flower was phenol, tannin, alkaloids, and flavonoids. The aim of this research is to find the immersion duration of Sangkuriang catfish eggs in the extract of Kecombrang flower most effectively to prevent the attack of Saprolegnia sp. and increase the egg hatching rate. The method in this study was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) experimental method with five treatments and three replications. The treatments was time of immerse the eggs of Sangkuriang catfish in Kecombrang flower extract at 60 ppm for 10, 15, 20, 25 minutes and without immersion as control. The investigate parameters in this study were Saprolegnia attack rate and hatching rate. Results of the experimental analyzed by F test, and if it was a significance difference then continue with Duncan Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. The results showed that the 20 minutes of immersion duration resulted in the lowest Saprolegnia attack rate about 13.50% and the highest egg hatching rate about 72.50%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of aquaponic systems with different types of plants on the water quality of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus) aquaculture. This research was conducted from June to August 2018 at the Ciparanje Fish Farming Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran. The fish used were sangkuriang catfish seeds (Clarias gariepinus) aged 54 days with a length of 5-7 cm and a weight of 5 grams that were kept in a 1 m2 fibre container with a density of 100 individuals/fiber. Plant growth media used using gutters with an area of planting media that is 0.8 x 0.3 m. The method used in this study is an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. Treatment A (Spinach plants), Treatment B (Pakcoy plants), Treatment C (Lettuce), and Treatment D (control). The parameters observed in this study were water quality, which included dissolved oxygen content, pH, temperature, ammonia, nitrate, and phosphate. The research data were analyzed using Variance Analysis with a level of 5% and continued with Duncan's multiple range test while the water quality data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the values of temperature, dissolved oxygen, and pH were 25.1-27.0oC, 6.3-7.5 mg / L, 7.0-7.8. The lowest ammonia value was found in treatment A using water spinach that is equal to 0.001 mg/L.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the pharmacokinetics and time of withdrawal of antibiotic enrofloxacin in catfish (Clarias gariepinus) which was attacked by Aeromonas hydrophila. The study was conducted from June to August 2017 at Station for Investigation of Fish Health and Environment, at Pasauran, Serang Regency. The experimental method consisted of two treatments and three replications with each container using 110 fishes. Control treatment was those without antibiotics, while the withdrawal time was those with antibiotics during five days, after five days the withdrawal time container was without antibiotics again. The pharmacokinetics and withdrawal time were determined by the longest time in the organ (ELISA method) and water quality were analyzed descriptively. Data analysis using 95% confidence interval and 50% confidence interval MRL (limited residual maximum). The results showed that the catfish antibiotic was found highest in the renal organ were 360.73 μg / kg before the renal treatment of 10.68 μg / kg and the liver after the highest treatment was 415.75 μg / kg before liver treatment 13.60 μg / kg and increased after treatment. Therefore, the withdrawal time of antibiotic enrofloxacin in catfish was at 16 days.

Abstract

A seed of Snakehead Channa striata has characterization an aggressive and or moving as well. One effort to suppress the aggressive nature is through the use of shelter (shelter) of aquatic weeds water hyacinth in maintenance ponds. Therefore, an experiment in aim of evaluation wide water hyacinth for shelter pond to increase growth and survival of Snakehead Channa striata juvenile was conducted. The treatment were various aquatic weeds are: water cabbage Pistia stratiotes, Azolla Azolla piñata, and water hyacinth Eichornoa crassipes. Snakehead juvenile of 5 ± 0.02 cm in total body length and 4 ± 0.01 g in weight were stocked in 9 experimental ponds at 100 juvenile / m3 (350 juvenile / pond). Artificial diet of 33% protein was fed on the juvenile at a rate 5% of biomass a day. Rearing period was conducted for four months. The experimental results showed shelter very important for rearing juvenile Snakehead. The best shelter of aquatic weed in snakehead pond culture was at water hyacinth with survival rate 78.00±2.11% and feed efficiency of 30.8 ± 1.22%. This result could be reffered in snakehead nursery in pond.
