Abstract

Development is directedactions to obtain a better quality of life. Development policy is intended to provide equity in the part of development, but the disparities between regions are still occur. The actual disparities are caused by potential distinct of Natural Resources (SDA) and demographic conditions which in the development process lead to uneven distribution of income per capita. This study aims to analyze the major disparities of coastal and non-coastal income in Cirebon Regency and analyze the position of the fishery sector as the economic base in Cirebon Regency in year 2011-2015. This research was conducted by survey method, the sampling technique by purposive sampling method. Data collection technique by recording directly on time series data sheets from 2011-2015 and filling questionnaires by coastal and non-coastal communities, the Department of Marine and Fisheries, Planning Agency Regional Development, as well as the Central Bureau of Statistics of Cirebon Regency. The results showed that income disparities in non-coastal areas were higher than coastal areas with an average value of the Williamson Index of 0.20 for coastal areas and 0.29 for non-coastal areas, while through economic base analysis showed that fishery sub-sector in Kabupaten Cirebon is the economic base sector with some superior commodities such as tiger shrimp, shellfish, octopus and crab.

Abstract

Golden snail contains high protein and carotenoids. Red melon discus fish requires high protein for growth and can be used for enhancing color. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of golden snail as a substitution of silkworms to increase growth and stimulate the color of red melon discus fish. The experiment used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments are 100% silk worm (A), 75% silkworm + 25% golden snail (B), 50% silkworm + 50% golden snail (C), 25% silkworm + 75% golden snail (D), and 100% golden snail (E). After acclimated, red melon discus fish of 0.32 ± 0.16 g and 2.41±0.02 cm in average weight and length were randomly stocked in 15 aquaria of 40x30x35 cm3 in dimension size containing 30 L water at 10 fingerlings/aquarium and given feed test as much as 5% body weight with frequency of 2 times a day for 56 days of the experimental period. The parameters that observed is survival rate, absolute weight, absolute growth, feed consumption and color. The results showed that high level of golden snail caused declining growth performance of red melon discus fish (P<0.05) and does not affect the color of discus fish (P>0.05) but can improve color quality during the experimental period. Substitution of golden snail to silkworm as much as 25% resulted in the highest growth performance and stimulate color of red melon discus fish.

Abstract

Abstract

The coastal waters of Lontar Village is located in Tirtayasa District, Banten. The coastal waters of Lontar Village is also used for fishing activities that become the livelihood of the surrounding community. Communities around the coast of Lontar village dispose of household waste directly into the waters so that the waters become dirty. The existence of these activities can cause the condition of the waters to decrease even can lead to contamination. Decrease in water conditions will affect the living biota inside. Waters quality can be determined by measuring physical, chemical, biological and heavy metal parameters. Physical parameters include brightness, turbidity, and temperature. Chemical parameters are salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, phosphate, BOD, TSS. The biological parameter is total coliform. The parameters of heavy metals are lead and copper. The purpose of this study is to analyze the quality of coastal waters of Lontar Village based on physical, chemical, biological and heavy metal parameters. The results showed that most of the parameters of water quality (physics, chemistry, biology and heavy metals) are still in accordance with the value of water quality standards (Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 51 of 2004) only the value of lead metals exceeding the standard quality. It must be overcome so as not to disrupt the life of biota in the waters. Management that can be done is utilize aquatic biota that can absorb heavy metal content  such as green shell (shell should not be consumed), reducing oil spilled from the activityof motor boats (giving box shelter under motor boat engines so that oil does not directly spill into the waters).

Abstract

A strong demand for high quality of fish seeds can not be fulfilled by the production of seed in the area of Serang district. Many people have to fulfill their needs from out side Banten area. Therefore, in order to support in solving the problem, the Office of Marine and Fisheries Servise of Serang District Government through their laboratory of fish breeding (BBI) in Baros Serang, proposing the development of breeding facilities to enlarge the increasing demand of high quality of fish seeds. This program is important to support the developmen in fish culture in Serang district as well as in Banten Province. A feasibility study for the development of the laboratory of fish breeding have been done on December 1 to 30 March 2011 with using qualitative descriptive analysis method, a simple quantitative analysis and measurement of water quality. Location of the BBI Baros was very suitable, However, the land Area of BBI is inadequate to operate in large scale production. Accordingly, in implementing fish farming based on Indonesian National Standard (SNI), Ways of Good Fish Hatchery (CPIB), Fish Ways Good (CBIB) and stem and seed certification requires Laboratory facilities are adequate. The optimal areas for fish breeding laboratory is about 4 hectares, to prepare the large production scale.
