Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of mobile learning based learning media on students' learning motivation in the Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP Maros Muslim University. The type of research used in this research was quantitative research with an experimental approach with the research subject being Mathematics Education Study Program students who are taking basic geometry courses in the even semester 2018/2019. The research design used was one group pretest-posttest design. Data was collected through tests and motivational questionnaires. The initial data analysis is used to check the normality of the data. The final analysis used the one sample t-test and normalized n-gain test. The results showed that the average normalized gain of student mathematics learning motivation was in the medium category and there was an increase in student learning motivation after being taught by applying the use of mobile learning in basic geometry learning

Abstract

This study aims to compare the mathematical connection abilities of students who take cooperative learning with the Open-Ended approach with students' mathematical connection skills who follow learning with conventional approaches. This research is a quasi-experimental study with the design of posttest only control group design. The population is all students of class X SMK Aloysius Ruteng with the number of students. Sampling is done using random sampling techniques, with the first class equivalence test. Data on students' mathematical connection abilities were collected using tests and interviews. Test in the form of a description question. Data were analyzed using t-test. The results of the analysis show that thitung = 4.645 and ttable = 1.999 at the level of significance and degrees of freedom dk = n1 + n1 - 2. Because tcount t table H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted which means that students' mathematical connection ability that follows cooperative learning with an open-ended approach is more better than students' mathematical connection skills that follow a conventional learning approach. In students who have a high initial ability to give treatment does not significantly affect the increase in the average value of students' mathematical connection abilities. In students who have the initial ability to be given treatment, it is quite significant in increasing the average value of mathematical connection abilities, while in students who have a low initial ability to give treatment does not affect the increase in the average value of mathematical connection abilities.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an interactive visual media called Geoactive (Geogebra interactive) by employing Geogebra to improve students higher order thinking skill (hots) in the learning of solid geometry. The media was developed by using the model of 4D from Thiagarajan, which consists of define, design, develop, & disseminate. The product testing was conducted in SMPN 2 BUA, and two validators validated the product. Results show that: (1) the Geoactive developed was declared valid with the average assessment score of 4.45 which was in the category of very good; (2) the interactive media developed was declared practical with its indicator of the average of learning implementation being 78.67% which was in the category of good and the score of students’ response was 2.89 which was categorized as good; (3) the Geoactive developed was effective with the completeness indicator of conceptual understanding and problem solving was 77,14% and 71,43%, respectively. Both of the two scores were categorized as high

Abstract

Blind students who do not have intellectual disabilities should study in inclusive schools. This is because they are the same as regular students who are able to learn and construct learning experiences well. They must get the best learning facilities to be successful. The purpose of this study was to produce a mathematics learning strategy book for blind students in junior high school. This book contains a general description of the characteristics of blind students, how to teach mathematics to blind students and class management strategies. This study is categorized as research and development. Development model in this study was adapted from Borg & Gall. The research instruments were  validation sheets, questionnaire assessment for teachers and questionnaire assessment for students. . Data analysis was done by converting the quantitative data into qualitative data in the form specified categories. This research resulted a mathematics learning strategy book for blind students in junior high school that proper to use because the book is valid and practical

Abstract

This study is a descriptive qualified study conducted on class VII students at MTsN 1 Pandeglang who are conducting online learning with the aim of knowing the factors that cause math learning difficulties in students. Data collection techniques use questionnaire sheets, interviews, and documentation. The sample in this study was 30 students of class VII. Results from research show that students have difficulty learning mathematics. The results of the analysis found five factors that affect student learning difficulties, namely teacher influence 36.67%, family to children's learning 48.89%, student interest when learning mathematics 34.4%, student concentration when learning mathematics 43.4%, students' confidence when studying mathematics 45.56%. So in conclusion, the cause of the problem of learning mathematics based online in class VII in MTsN 1 Pandeglang is external factors and internal factors. External factors include inattention from parents and inappropriate teacher methods when teaching and learning. Internal factors include lack of interest in learning, weak concentration of students, and lack of self-confidence.

Abstract

Based on the list of Mathematics grade X grade students from T.P 2015/2016 to T.P 2017/2018, there can be seen many significant and positive changes with an increase in students' mastery learning from 40.87% to 48.72% to 80.85%. In addition to increased learning completeness, the average student learning outcomes in mathematics also increased. There is a change in the involvement of students to discuss and cooperate with fellow friends in terms of solving problems given by the teacher. Changes in the activity of students to take part in learning mathematics. The seriousness of students in participating in learning has also increased. The activeness of students in answering oral questions has also increased. This is indicated by the increasing number of students who give correct answers. the activeness of students in completing homework is increasing. This is indicated by the increasing frequency of students completing homework on time. The activeness of students to appear in front of the class solving problems on the board also increased. Students begin to believe in themselves and have the ability to solve the problems given. Based on observation, the teacher has a problem where the students are very familiar with the conventional way, the teacher explains in front of the class while students listen, Building a conducive classroom atmosphere by involving students to be more active sometimes inviting a commotion in the classroom where students initially play more than learn. Building a sense of responsibility to students also becomes difficult because students' demands actually become reversed because the teacher explains a little subject matter and students are directed to further develop material insights through discussion activities and so on. The application of the 2013 curriculum also requires students to understand the implementation of the value of the knowledge acquired so that a variety of practical activities are needed as a tangible form of the implementation of students' mathematical knowledge

Abstract

This research is an experimental research which aims to describe the effectiveness of the methaporical thinking approach to improve the mathematical representation ability of class VIII SMPN 2 Toari. In addition, it also aims to determine how much students are engaged in the learning process when applying the methaporical thinking approach. The research subjects were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group taught using the methaporical thinking approach and the control group taught by conventional learning. The results showed that students who were taught with a methaporiical thinking approach were more active in the learning process so that the ability of representation also increased. In addition, it was found that mean of mathematical representation ability of students taught using the approach of methaporical thinking was better than students taught with conventional learning. Therefore, the approach of methaporical thinking is able to improve the mathematical representation ability of class VIII SMPN 2 Toari
