Abstract

The research was conducted in the Kabaena island, Bombana District from December 2010 to January 2011. The study aims to analyze the efficiency of marketing channels of Bali Cattle, to calculate the price share received by farmers and the middlemen trader-related marketing efficiency as well as analyze the value of marketing margin of Bali Cattle in Kabaena Island. The research was using the survey method and stratified and purposive sampling was conducted to determine the location of the study. A number of respondents were 30 that determined by simple random sampling with certain criteria. The data obtained were tabulated into a percentage and then reviewed by descriptive analysis. Observed variables are the characteristics of respondents, the sales price, the volume of marketing, marketing costs, marketing agencies, marketing channels and marketing margins of Bali Cattle. he results study showed that: (1) Bali Cattle sold in 2010 reached 189 head (183.2 UT) with the price variation between Rp.4.452.267- Rp.4.690.278 per tail, with the average price, is Rp. 4,571,273 per tails, (2) the efficient marketing channels of Bali Cattle is: farmers → producers → collector on district level → inter-island traders, (3) The highest price received by farmers of Bali Cattle is 87% (the sale of Bali Cattle in collector district level), (4) Bali Cattle marketing margin was highest in the first type of marketing channel (inter-island traders) and the lowest in three types of marketing channels (sub-district level traders).Efficiency, Marketing, Bali Cattle

Abstract

This research aims to know the characteristics that influence the farmer empowerment to dynamics of farmers in cacao agribusiness, to know the efforts that done by farmers in cacao agribusiness and explain the relationship between characteristics of respondents with the efforts done by farmers in cacao agribusiness. The population of this research is a cacao farmer in Nambo Village of Kendari city, totaling 229 cacao farmers. Sampling was done by random sampling, so the sample of research was taken by 60 people (26%) of cacao farmers (Arikunto, 2002). Data of individual factors were analyzed using frequency distributions, and the median. Efforts of farmers in agribusiness cacao analyzed with a tiered scale. The relationship between variables is known by using Rank Order correlation coefficient (Spearman's Rho Rank-Order Correlation), a correlation test for data non-parametric (Sunyoto, 2009), a correlation test for data non-parametric. The results of the research showed that the characteristics of cacao farmers in the Nambo village, the majority are on medium categories, such as age, educational level, number of liability the experience of farming, land tenure, motivation, access to information, and links to the cosmopolitan. Efforts that doing by farmers that showing the dynamics of farmers in agribusiness cacao are: an effort of farmers in agribusiness in the upstream agribusiness subsystem is low, effort of farmers on farm management subsystem is high, and the efforts of farmers in agribusiness on downstream agribusiness subsystem is high, and the characteristics farmers significantly associated with the efforts that done by farmers in cacao agribusiness farmers are farming experience. Farmer characteristics significantly associated with the efforts that done by farmers in agribusiness cacao farmers are motivation, access to information, and to the cosmopolitan nature.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of price increase for commodity group, commodity sub-group and commodity on inflation in Kendri city. Data used were of monthly time series data Bank Indonesia and Central Board of Statistic, covering January 2002-August 2011. The analysis was undertaken using multiple regression. The research results showed that the group of processed food, beverages, and tobacco product gave more effect on inflation compare to the group of foodstuff. The increasing of 1% of the group of processed food, beverages, and tobacco product would effect to inflation by 0,69%, and the group of foodstuff effect on inflation by 0,34%. In the group of foodstuff, the sub-group of fresh fish gave the most effect on inflation. The increasing of sub-group of fresh fish gave the effect to inflation by 0,30%, meanwhile, the most little effect to inflation was contributed by processed fish (0,02%). The increasing of rice price to inflation was not great, where 1% of rice price increased inflation by 0,08%.

Abstract

This research was aimed to study the response of stock farmer on a made catalytic supplement for goat. The sample size on this research has taken by the census of a method that is used the all number of population as the sample about 20 people. The result of data analysis indicates that the all-stock farmer has given positive of respond on made catalytic supplement of technology, likely most 20 people (100%) declare that the material is simple, most 15 people have declared that the material process is easy, and the last 20 people (100%) has declared that knowledge regarded material of process is most utility. Therefore, disseminating regarded technology of the catalytic supplement made is more significant to do.

Abstract

This research departs from the phenomenon of the enactment of a Sustainable Food House Area Program (KRPL) policy for food diversification and community nutrition through optimizing women's empowerment. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of women farmers in the KRPL Program. This research was conducted in Jampaka Village, Kulisusu Subdistrict, North Buton Regency, which was selected purposively which was conducted in January-February 2018. This study involved female farmers who were involved in the KRPL Program. The population in this study were all female farmers involved in the KRPL Program totaling 20 people, the sampling was done by census method so that the entire population became respondents. This study was designed as a quantitative study using a percentage formula which then data is presented in table form, to be interpreted qualitatively. The results of this study indicate that the perceptions of women farmers in the KRPL Program in Jampaka Village, Kulisusu Subdistrict, North Buton Regency are of high category, which is due to the age of the adult category, high farming experience, moderate family dependence, and mentoring assistance from the time of socialization to program implementation.

Abstract

Kawasan Taman Nasional Rawa Aopa Watumohai (TNRAW) merupakan salah satu kawasan konservasi di Indonesia yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai obyek wisata alam dan sebagai tujuan ekowisata. Dalam pemanfaatannya kawasan TNRAW dikelola dengan sistem zonasi yang dimanfaatkan untuk tujuan penelitian, ilmu pengetahuan, pendidikan, menunjang budidaya, pariwisata, dan rekreasi alam. Kawasan TNRAW memiliki 4 (empat) tipe ekosistem, terdiri dari : (1) ekosistem savana, (2) ekosistem mangrove, (3) ekosistem rawa, dan (4) ekosistem hutan hujan dataran rendah dan pegunungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (a) mengkaji kelayakan pengembangan ekowisata di kawasan Taman Nasional Rawa Aopa Watumohai. (b) mengetahui permintaan pengunjung terhadap kegiatan ekowisata di kawasan Taman Nasional Rawa Aopa Watumohai. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada zona pemanfaatan untuk kegiatan pariwisata alam dan rekreasi di hutan pendidikan Tatangge dan safari savana Kawasan Taman Nasional Rawa Aopa Watumohai, abupaten Konawe Selatan, Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara. Populasi penelitian terkait dengan kelayakan pengembangan ekowisata di kawasan Taman Nasional Rawa Aopa Watumohai yaitu wisatawan, pelaku usaha dan masyarakat local. Kelayakan pengembangan ekowisata di kawasan TNRAW digolongkan hutan pendidikan Tatangge dan safari savana di kawasan Taman Nasional Rawa Aopa Watumohai layak untuk dikembangkan sebagai kawasan ekowisata. Disisi lain permintaan pengunjung terhadap kegiatan ekowisata di kawasan TNRAW adalah kesediaan membayar pengunjung terhadap kegiatan ekowisata hutan pendidikan Tatangge dan safari savana rata-rata jangkauan kesediaan membayar sebesar Rp. 1.250, dengan persentase responden sebesar 47,46 % dengan populasi pengunjung sebanyak 171 orang

Abstract

The design of letters on a leaflet medium is very strategic considering letters are the main ingredient in conveying messages. This study aims to determine the effective letter design applied in Kendari City. This research was conducted in the Anduonohu Sub-District of Poasia Subdistrict which was chosen purposively with consideration of 1) Anduonohu Village was the representative of the city center and suburbs so that the results of the research could be repressive in Kendari City; 2) The extension method that is applied is the use of leaflet media in promoting living pharmacies to increase the knowledge of mothers. The population of this study was all program recipients with a total of 28 people, all of whom were respondents. The twenty-eight people were divided into 4 groups of 7 people each, to conduct experiments. This study uses an experimental method with the One Group Pretest-Posttest model, with a time series. The results showed that the upright design with the 12-point size of the arial type was effectively applied to increase the knowledge of mothers about growing ginger in Kendari City.

Abstract

Objectives to be achieved in this study (1). Forms of PHBM program that has been implemented in the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region on the utilization block. (2). The success level of PHBM program implementation at the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region on the utilization block. (3). Level of conservation area Tahura Nipa-Nipa on the block utilization. Based on the results of studies that (1). Community-Based Forest Management Program that has been implemented in the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region on the KTPH utilization block is divided into several areas i.e: biological enrichment area, plantation management area and other areas. The park pattern applied by KTPH is the agroforestry systems. That combine forestry, plantation and Livestock. (2). Implementation of PHBM program in the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region on the utilization block has reduced the encroachment. based on the analysis of land use transformation is seen that land use before the PHBM program enter in the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region consists of forest, open land, settlements, and shrubs. While the land use after the PHBM program implementation consists of forests, farms, settlements and shrubs. so the PHBM program implementation in the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region on the land use that previously was an open land by shifting agriculture turned into a mixed farms managed by farmers' groups of forest conservation. For communities income with an average change of 7.34% this is addressing the changes of people's income level by ≥ 1 so that these changes are positive for all KTPH in the District of Western Kendari. (3). How is the conservation level of the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region on the utilization block. The conservation level of Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region shows that the implications of forest product management in the Grand Forest Park Region to the region conservation is good that the use and the management of forest products have met the minimum requirements of the forest conservation achievement, which is obtained based on the results of each indicator by 75%, This showed a balance in all three conservation principles: the conservation of social function, the conservation of product function, and the conservation of ecological function that is generated by the performance of forest management in the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region especially that is implemented by KTPH members. The Management of the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region cannot be separated from the role of all relevant stakeholders. For that the management of this Grand Forest Park Region can be made as a pilot unit of a sustainable and consistent forestry development. The results of this study is expected to be a reference to the relevant agencies in order to preserve the Nipa-Nipa Grand Forest Park Region.

Abstract

The research main reason is the Binongko Island community have indication vulnerable of food shortages due to limited of land resources, water and access to the surrounding area. In fact, Binongko society had not experienced problems with food stocks, because they have local knowledge in the food security system. This purpose research revealing and describing the local knowledge of Binongko society in the food security system. The study was conducted in December 2016-March 2017 at Binongko Island, Wakatobi Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. This qualitative research uses literature study techniques, orientation, observation and interviews with the snowball method. The results showed that Binongko Island community has local knowledge about the food security system in the form of (1) Development of mixed cropping patterns in more than one farming location with different planting and harvesting times. This is through a series of farming system local knowledge that starts with ritual bhelai, phitado, honowu/katambhari, bhija-bhija/bhatata, pajere'a, phidawu-phidongka and tompe’a; (2) Processing, preservation and foodstuffs storage are accordance with the type of foodstuffs and harvest time. Kalla'a and gadha are one of the storage containers as well as the preservation of the food; (3) Household food consumption patterns adhere to the values of shipping logistical arrangements system and internalization of the mother role as Pande Mantoroka in managing household food menus

Abstract

This study aims to identify the technical and financial feasibility of fish meatball agroindustry Home Industry Chikanos Food. This research is a case study on Chikanos Food fish meatball business. The object of research is determined purposively because legally this business has legality and has been operating for 5 (five) years. The results showed that from the results of technical aspects analysis, Fish Industry Home Industry agroindustry, Chikanos Food can be said to be feasible, both from production capacity, adequate facilities and infrastructure, and production process technology that has been running for 5 (five) years. Financially this business is feasible to continue, where the NPV value is greater than zero, which is Rp.136,923,035, the IRR is greater than bank interest which is 42.5 percent, and Net B / C is greater than one, which is 3.24. The results of the sensitivity analysis show that if there is a 10 percent increase in costs with fixed income or a decrease in revenue of 10 percent with a fixed cost, then this business remains profitable. If a cost increase of 10 percent occurs, the NPV value is greater than zero, which is Rp. 36.417175; IRR is greater than OCC, which is 15.27 percent; and NBCR is greater than one, which is 1.35. If there is a decrease in revenue of 10 percent, the NPV value remains positive, namely Rp. 22,736,802; IRR is greater than OCC, which is 12.41 percent; and NBCR is greater than one, which is 1.23.
