Abstract

Hundreds of years of tin mining on Bangka Island has caused damage to tens of thousands of hectares of land. Through the Kuliah Kerja Nyata Pemberdayaan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (KKN-PPM), physical mapping of environmental damage due to mining and the potential that can be developed in Lumut Village, Riding Panjang and Gn. Muda village, Belinyu sub-district, Bangka district. Physical mapping was conducted through field observations of the mining area, focus group discussions (FGDs) and socialization of the potential of the pit. More than 3,000 ha of land is critical land, environmental damage resulting in erosion, sedimentation, flooding, drought and potential landslides. The pit has the potential to be developed as a source of clean water, fish farming and pit tourism. Generally, the community utilizes the pit as a source of clean water during the dry season. A total of 40 out of 128 collars have the potential to be developed as a source of clean water, a location for freshwater fish farming and the development of collector tourism.

Abstract

Coral transplantation technology is a rehabilitation effort through grafting or cutting live corals to be planted in other places that are damaged. Transplantation can accelerate the regeneration of damaged coral reefs and to build areas that previously did not have coral reefs. Transplantation activities are carried out in the waters of Camban Bay, using a relatively easy method and a high level of efficiency so that it is more effective in the process of making and applying it. This activity uses iron skeleton media. The iron frame is used as a place to attach the fragments to be transplanted. Coral transplantation in Camban Bay produces outcomes in the form of fish and coral reefs. Monitoring of coral transplantation showed good growth of coral fragments. The growth of coral fragments per month is ± 0.6 cm and with a survival rate of 35%.

Abstract

Fish farming activities carried out by fish farmers often face problems that cause production activities to be not optimal. In fact, increasing production capacity is very important to increase profits. Problems that often arise are basically common. However, due to a lack of mastery of technology and production management, these problems become a major obstacle to optimizing business activities. Fish farmers in Tua Tunu Village, Pangkalpinang City are fish farmers engaged in freshwater fish farming activities, especially catfish (Pangasius pangasius). So far, fish farming activities carried out by fish farmers have faced problems caused by two main factors, namely poor water quality in aquaculture ponds due to waste from feed and fish feces and lack of diversification of fish farming commodities. The purpose of this activity is to provide science and technology applications in the form of technology to minimize aquaculture waste and aquaculture technology systems so that the production capacity of fish farmers increases. This activity was carried out in fish farming ponds owned by fish farmers in Tua Tunu Village, Pangkalpinang City. The specific target is to increase the production capacity of fish farming with the application of technology in all fish farming ponds for fish farmers in Tua Tunu. The method used is a survey method by conducting fish farming activities by inserting technology applications in the form of organic waste trap technology and polyculture system technology. The results obtained show that the production capacity of the pond and the harvest of the fish farmers are more optimal. The results of the activity show that the fish farmer partners can harvest more types of fish and more profits. The water quality in the fish farming media is better. The good water quality from the application of this technology can be seen physically from the color of the water with a lower level of turbidity by suspended solids from feed compared to ponds that do not use this technology.

Abstract

The implementation of this thematic KKN is based on the objective of revitalizing the function of the Pangkalpinang City drainage system to reduce the risk of flooding that has often occurred. To be able to revitalize the function, the drainage system must be viewed as a unit of the water system, and the solution requires multidisciplinary science. Problem solving in the drainage system function revitalization program emphasizes maintenance activities that use a participatory approach with the aim of influencing community behavior so that the level of public awareness increases towards the importance of a good drainage system.Four programs (11 activities) were implemented. The implementation of KKN-Thematic with a time span of one month is not able to cover all areas and all aspects of the drainage system management in Pangkalpinang City. Therefore, revitalization of drainage system functions in Pangkalpinang City is still needed in the future to reach areas in the system that are problematic and maintain good system conditions.Future programs to revitalize the function of the drainage system are projected in the form of implementation of concepts that have been initiated in the 2015 KKN-Thematic and accommodate recommendations from the Residents' Consultation, taking into account aspects of rationality and compatibility with local government programs.

Abstract

In the implementation of this Community Service Program (KKN), the main activities are focused on making egg hatching machines and utilizing these machines for chicken cultivation.Hatching chicken eggs using a hatching machine can be a quick way for the eggs to hatch. Without the help of a hatching machine, the process of eggs becoming chicks will take a long time and the risk of death is greater. For farmers, time is very valuable for the smooth running of the farm business, besides the success of hatching eggs is much greater than the manual method. The implementation of KKN is divided into 4 stages, the first stage is the manufacture of machines carried out before the implementation of KKN as well as the search for egg seeds. The second stage held a socialization on the use of egg hatching machines and how to breed chickens, the socialization was carried out by the East Belitung Regency Livestock Service Office. The third stage is making cages. Cages are made in the homes of lalang villagers who are selected based on an agreement from the village where the selected residents will then use the egg hatching machine to become chicken farmers. The fourth stage is chicken breeding, including feeding and vitamins. The last stage is monitoring, this stage is done to see how the chickens are developing before the KKN is completed.
