Abstract

Pangandaran Regency is one of the regencies in Indonesia which youngest age as a result of the expansion area. Therefore, the local elections have been conducted in Pangandaran. Through this article, in which the data collection is done through observation and interviews. The researchers sought to examine the implementation of the local elections are based on the perspective of primary school teachers and other citizens. The study states that the organization of the elections took place safely, and there are about 239 475 votes or people who cast. Because this election is the first election and also in an atmosphere where community ownership seems to have its own area, the enthusiasm of citizens was so great.Keywords: election, Pangandaran, elementary school teacher perspective.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low reading interest of children who have an impact on learning outcome is low and the need to streamline the reading comprehension to be able easily understand the material being studied. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the medium of comics to the students' reading ability. Based on the analysis of data, the first measurement using the story "Reaching Cita Although almost Despair" of 30 fourth-grade students of SDN 03 Bergaskidul Semarang District 25 students with learning outcome is high enough - and five students with poor outcomes. The average was 73.33. After being treated for the provision of comics, from 30 students of SDN 03 Bergaskidul Semarang regency, retrieved 29 students achieving grades with the criteria fairly high and only one students still have low criteria. The average value rose to 81.33. Percentage increase is 3.878%. The second measurement using the story "Cita-Citaku" of 30 fourth-grade students of SDN 03 Bergaskidul Semarang District, there are 14 students with learning outcome is high enough - and 16 students with poor outcomes. The average was 53.67. After being treated for the provision of comics, from 30 students of SDN 03 Bergaskidul Semarang regency, retrieved 22 students achieving grades with the criteria fairly high and eight students who still have low criteria. The average value rose to 66.67. Percentage increase is 2, 037%.Keywords: effectiveness, media comics, reading comprehension.

Abstract

Some of the receptive language skills are listening and reading skills. Curriculum (Indonesian Curriculum 2006, 2013, or 2016 revision) is a standard curriculum used by teachers in the school. Learning to listen assessed on the ability of students retold orally or in writing Learning reading rated from revealing reading materials orally or in writing Listeners and reader's comprehension must be equal to the intended speaker and author. Receptive expression in its evaluation involves the expressive ability (speaking and writing) to revive the gathering and reading. Evaluation of the learning listening and reading could have been a test, performance test, project or portfolio.Keywords: learning materials, evaluation, listening, reading.

Abstract

This research is conducted to all fifth-grade elementary school students throughout the Subdistrict Conggeang that included higher group. The research result indicates that the realistic mathematics education and conventional approach give different effect to students’ mathematical understanding and problem-solving abilities. The effect to mathematical understanding and problem-solving ability in experiment class is better than the control one. The effect of realistic mathematics education to the higher, middle, and lower achievement students group is different too. Higher group gets a bigger effect than others. There is a positive correlation between mathematical understanding and problem-solving abilities, which its contribution is 95, 9%.Keywords: realistic mathematics education, mathematical understanding ability, mathematical problem solving ability.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of problem-based learning on student’s science attitudes related to food theme’s. The method used is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest design. Subjects in the study were the students of grade V elementary school in Sumedang, amounting to 44 people and 15 classroom teachers. The instruments used consist of attitude scales, questionnaires, and interviews provided before and after problem-based learning. The results showed that there was an increase in student’s science attitude after learning, which can be seen from the increase of the average score of student’s science attitude from 82.00 to 83.4.Keywords: student’s science attitude, food, problem-based learning.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe inquiry method steps on improving the science study result of 5th graders in SD Negeri 1 Bawen that is located in Bawen, Central Java. The students are in 2nd semester, academic year 2016/2017. The subjects of this research are 24 students who are 5th grader in SD Negeri 1 Bawen. This research is a class action research through two cycles. The study method used is inquiry method. The data collection techniques are both test and non test. Descriptive comparative analysis is used in analyzing the data. The result of this research shows that inquiry study method can improve the science study result of the 5th grader in SD Negeri 1 Bawen, from cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This is supported by data that have been analyzed, from the condition in the beginning, 1st cycle, and 2nd cycle. In conclusion, inquiry method can improve the science study result of 5th graders in SD Negeri 1 Bawen.Keywords: study result, science, inquiry method.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the quality of learning music in elementary school, particularly in promoting a fun learning atmosphere for students. Subjects were students in grade IV SDN Baturetno 1 Wonogiri. This study uses classroom action research, which combines both of quantitative approach and qualitative, to determine the level of students' affective reactions on the application as a quantum learning model. Source of data is collected by the technique of giving questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Test the validity use the technique of source triangulation and methods. Analysis was done by descriptive-comparative. From the findings, it seemed that the application of quantum learning on music class in elementary school, could increase fun learning atmosphere for students. Level affective reactions experienced by students showed 97% of students to the level of pleasure, 3% of students to the level of mediocre, and there is no reaction was not happy. However, the development still needs to be done primarily in the addition to the use of learning media to be combined with quantum models.Keywords: affective reactions, learning music, quantum models.

Abstract

This research is an effort to improve ecological intelligence by using the Citizen project model. The method used in this study was a classroom action research in which regular 3rd semester students of Elementary School Teacher Education (IKIP) Siliwangi were the subject. The result of this research showed that the teaching plan through the citizen project model needs careful planning. There are some obstacles in implementing the above model i.e. students are still rigid in finding the problems, making solutions to problems and solving problems. Nevertheless, through the improvement in subsequent cycles, the better ecological intelligence can be seen from cycle I to cycle III in the aspect of knowledge with an average score of 86 (excellent), awareness 3.60 (excellent) and the application 3.70 (very good). The above scores improvement is associated with the ecological intelligence aspects of waste care.

Abstract

The low comprehension of elementary school students in integer material and the low motivation of students to learn mathematics is the background of this research. One alternative solution to the problem is to apply contextual approach with REACT strategy on learning mathematics. The purpose of this research is to determine the difference between the effect of contextual approach with REACT strategy compared with conventional learning on mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation of elementary school students on the matter of addition and reduction of integers. This research is a quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that both of it were able to improve the mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation of elementary school students, but contextual approach with REACT strategy was better and there is a positive correlation between learning motivation and mathematical understanding ability of students in the experimental class. Thus, it can be concluded that the contextual approach-player Chinese REACT effectively in improving the students’ mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation.

Abstract

This research is about the influence of application of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model in elementary school to decision-making skill. The research method is quasi experiment with non randomized pretest-posttes control group design. The population of all grade III elementary school in Maja subdistrict and its sampling sampling in this research is student of class III SDN Cieurih I and SDN Kertabasuki II. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of TGT model on student decision-making skills in class III elementary school. The result of this research can be concluded that there is a difference of decision-making skills improvement between experimental and control group, besides cooperative learning of TGT is better than conventional learning in improving student decision-making skills in elementary school social study learning and there is difference of improvement of decision making skill among student group higher, middle and lower achiever using TGT model and conventional learning.
