Abstract

The emergence of a community-based education paradigm is triggered by a large flow of modernization and democratization. Education should be decentralized. Its implementation in schools should be collaborative, and the principal has a big hand in this. Therefore, this study aims to examine the involvement or participation of the principal in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) community-based in junior high school. The data are collected through in-depth interviews, observations, literature studies and documentation instruments. This study  shows that the principal's concern on religious affairs and the improvement of the quality of PAI learning is relatively high. This can be seen from his programs conducting recitation   on Islamic and national holidays, Dhuha studies, tahfidz one day one verse, book of yaumi and verse book, tajwid learning   or tahsin for teachers, qurban animal repayment   and highly motivating teachers to have skills, develop existing curriculum, and improve the competence of teaching based on social piety.

Abstract

This paper attempts to analyze the intellectual and spiritual contributions of Nuruddin ar-Raniri to Islamic education in Indonesia. It gives the genealogy of ar-Raniri and his arrival to Indonesia as well as the vital role he played in the documentation of important literatures in Malay and Islamic education. This paper further argues that Nuruddin ar-Raniri, serving as a Sufi scholar, great writer, theologian, historian has immense contribution. His impact and influence in Indonesia was profound and noteworthy. His contribution to Malay literature and Islamic education is unavoidable. His masterpieces on intellectual writings has exerted considerable effort in the field of Malay letters and historical writings. His writings cover various fields of knowledge which helped in developing the learning culture in the society. This study used a qualitative approach in collecting and analyzing the data. This study concludes that due to this great contribution in the field of Islamic knowledge, ar-Raniri emerged as an exceptional scholar of his time and a pioneer in the standardization of Islamic religious text within Indonesia. Thus, it remains a legacy and a significant contribution in transforming Indonesia spiritually and intellectually. His contribution in Islamic education includes learning material and Islamic traditional book delivered in Pegon language which used in pesantren and other Islamic education institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

Students’ low social attitude becomes one of the causes which can lead into immoral actions among students. The aim of this research is to acquire the relationship between emotional intelligence (X1), religiosity (X2), and social attitude of students (Y). The method used in this research is a survey with an instrument of measurement using the questionnaire.  The population in this research is 125 students in Islamic Education Department of Tarbiyah Faculty Semester VI in the 2015/2016 Academic Year. The number of samples are 60 students which were chosen by using multi-stage random sampling. The results of research show that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence (X1) and social attitude of students (Y), religiosity (X2) and social attitude of students (Y), and between emotional intelligence (X1) and religiosity (X2) with students’ social attitude (Y).

Abstract

This article aims to describe the internalization of Islamic values in fostering akhlak (morality) of santri (Islamic boarding school students) in Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) Miftahul Muhajirin Cidadap, Pagaden, Subang. The Internalization carried out in the forms of religious activities such as farḍu prayers in congregation, sunnah prayers Qiyãm al-lail and Ḍuha, sunnah fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, and recite Yasin after dawn. The Islamic internalization process of Islamic values takes several steps namely transformation values; transaction values; and trans-internalization values. The overview of akhlak santri from internalization results obtained from questionnaires data distributed to 53 santri. From the questionnaire data, it was obtained the categories of akhlak santri; excellent students (52.83%), good (45.28%), and quite good (1.89%).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the quality of principals’ managerial capabilities, supervisors’ coaching quality, PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam/Islamic education) teachers’ performance in Madrasa Aliyah (equal to senior high school level), and the relationship among those three aspects. The research method used in this study is an explanatory survey that tries to connect each variable. The respondent of the research was 57 teachers of PAI in a madrasa aliyah in Pekanbaru. The data were obtained through questionnaire. To analyze the data, the study used Bivariate correlation, regression, and coefficient of determination test. Having performed the necessary statistical computations, this study found out that principals’ managerial abilities, supervisors’ coaching quality, and PAI teachers’ performance were all categorized into sufficient. Regarding correlation, it has been proven that there was positive correlation between the teachers’ performance and principals’ managerial abilities, between principals’ managerial abilities and supervisors’ coaching quality, and between teachers’ performance and supervisors’ coaching quality. These results imply that there is a need of those three aspects enhancement in madrasa aliyah so that that madrasa can compete with public schools both in academic and non-academic aspects.

Abstract

This study aimed to produce a web-based lecture evaluation system in the Post-Graduate Program of IAIN Salatiga. The developed system was called SEVADO (Sistem Evaluasi Perkuliahan Dosen/Evaluation System of the Lecturer’s learning). The method of this research was research and development (R&D). The data collection techniques were documentations, interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), and questionnaires. The research subjects were 10 students during the pilot study and 46 students in the main research. The aspects which was tested includes functionality, usability, reliability, performance and supportability. To test the aspect of reliability and performance, WAPT tools (Web Application Performance Testing) software was applied. The researcher concludes that the web-based lecture evaluation system of the Post-Graduate Program of IAIN Salatiga was feasible. It met the five aspects of system testing: functionality (score 4.2/excellent category), usability (score 4.3/excellent category), supportability (score 4.3/excellent category), performance (97%), and reliability (92%).

Abstract

كانت دراسة اللغة العربية في معهد البشرية تهتم كثيرا بمهارة الكلام وهي أصبحت أولى الغاية من أغراض التعليم اللغوي. ولترقية مهارة الكلام هناك ثلاثة برامج تؤثر في دافعية الطالبات إلى تعليم مهارة الكلام العربي، وهي البرنامج المدرسي والبرنامج المعهدي والبرنامج التعزيزي. يجب على كل طالبة اشتراكها لتعلم اللغة العربية فيها، ولا سيما مهارة الكلام. وأهداف هذا البحث هي معرفة تعليم مهارة الكلام العربي في كل البرامج الموجودة في معهد البشرية باندونج من حيث عملية تدريسها وعواملها الدافعة والمعرقلة وتقويم تعليم مهارة الكلام العربي. والطريقة المستخدمة في هذا البحث هي الطريقة الوصفية. والأساليب لجمع البيانات في هذا البحث هي الملاحظة والوثائق والمقابلة. ونتائج هذا البحث هي أن البرامج الثلاثة تؤثر كثيرا على نجاح تعليم مهارة الكلام العربي لأن على الأغلب نتيجة العناصر في عملية تعليم مهارة الكلام جيدة من حيث أهداف التعليم والموضوعات والمواد الدراسية والتصميم والوسائل التعليمية والبيئة والتقدير النهائي فوق 75-94.

Abstract

The research starts from the assumption that the al-Qur'an is the source of the main points of education. The research aims to uncover the stylistic values and educational implications of the conversation between father and son in the verses of the Holy Qur’an. The method used in this research is content analysis. The results showed that the conversation between father and son are available in 16 verses. The stylistic values include the jumlah insyãiyyah like al-amr, an-nahyi, al-istifhãm, an-nidã, and at-tamanny which is coming out from its original meaning. Additionally, it contains jumlah khabariyyah that comes out from its original meaning, al-îjãz wa 'l-ithnãb, al-Qasr, al-Fashl wa' l-washl, al-kinãyah, ath-thibãq, al-jinãs, at-tasybîh, al-isti'ãrah, at-tatmîm, and al-muqãbalah. While the educational values include the curriculum, teaching methods and techniques, the basics of good relationships and communication.

Abstract

The emergence and the development of PTKI (Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam/Islamic Higher Education) in Indonesia are much influenced by social, political, ideology and religious condition of the community’s surrounding. Since its emergence, PTKI is always preparing and fixing all the things in order to be able to answer the society’s needs. Hereby, this study aims to investigate the contribution of IAIN (Institut Agama Islam Negeri/State Islamic Institute) Surakarta to the development of Muslim community’s religiosity within its surroundings, and its various supported and inhibited factors. Based on the qualitative method, the result of this study revealed that IAIN Surakarta had real contribution to the development of the Muslim religiosity in Pucangan, Kartasura. The emerging of religious education institutions, arising from various religious activities, and raising people's awareness on the importance of religious education can be used as indicators of the successfulness of IAIN Surakarta’s as an agent of Islamization, as well as an agent of social change, especially in the transformation process of religious values to its surrounding community.

Abstract

The study aims to find out al-Zarnuji’s basic concept of knowledge, learning material, ethic, strategy, process and his contribution as well as to explain conceptual model on the basis of his thought at the institutions. In Pesantren Kebon Jambu al-Islami, Buntet and Bendakerep Cirebon, the Kitab Ta’līm al-Muta’allim is used as main reference of learning ethic. The study used qualitative research method. Source and kind of data were determined by the researcher as information center with purposive trait as long as it is supposedly representative.  The result indicates that the implementation of the book Ta’līm al-Muta’allim at those pesantrens was less satisfactory due to textual understanding. In order to effectively implement the book Ta’līm al-Muta’allim at those institutions, the contextual description is required.
