Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh gender siswa terhadap literasi sains melalui pembelajaran project based learning (PjBL) yang diintegrasikan dengan science, technology, engineering, dan mathematics (STEM) pada tema pencemaran udara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimen dengan desain The static Group Pretest-Posttest Design yang dilaksanakan di kelas VII SMP Islam Terpadu di kabupaten Sukabumi sebanyak 57 siswa yang terdiri dari kelas laki-laki (29 orang) dan kelas perempuan (28 orang). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes awal dan tes akhir untuk literasi sains dan angket siswa terhadap  PjBL STEM. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh peningkatan literasi sains siswa kelompok laki-laki dan kelompok perempuan sama-sama mengalami peningkatan dengan rerata N_Gain yaitu 0,36 dan 0,31 pada kategori sedang untuk aspek pengetahuan dan kompetensi. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan literasi sains kelas laki-laki dan kelas perempuan berbeda tidak signifikan. Pada aspek sikap sains, kelas perempuan berbeda signifikan dari kelas laki-laki. Tanggapan siswa secara keseluruhan menunjukkan hampir seluruh siswa menyatakan senang dengan pembelajaran PjBL STEM dan memperoleh pengalaman yang sangat berkesan mengikuti tahapan pembelajaran sehingga menimbulkan motivasi dan minat dalam belajar.Kata Kunci: project based learning; STEM; literasi sains; gender Implementation Project-Based Learning Integrated STEM to Improve Scientific Literacy Based on Gender AbstractThis study aims to investigate the influence of gender on the students' science literacy through project based learning (PjBL) integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) approach for students junior high school. The theme used in this project was air pollution. The method used was pre-experimental design the static group pretest-posttest design and was implemented in grade VII of the Integrated Islamic school at Sukabumi. The subjects were 57 students divided into two, male group (N = 29) and female group (N = 28). The data collection was done by pretest and posttest for scientific literacy and students' responses to the PjBL STEM. Based on the result it were obtained that an average N_Gain of male group was 0.36 and was 0.31 for female group with medium category on knowledge and competence. T-test results showed that increasing scientific literacy male group and female of different classes do not signifikan. Attitude aspect of science, female group differ significantly from male group. The student responses showed almost all of the students agreed to the implementation of the PjBL STEM and gain great new experiences that stages of learning that lead to be interested and motivated in learning. Keywords: project-based learning, STEM, scientific literacy, gender

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran IPA berbasis potensi lokal Jepara untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi ekspreimen dengan cluster random sampling dan pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah RPP dan LKPD berbasis potensi lokal Jepara serta soal keterampilan berpikir kritis yang telah valid melalui validasi ahli, praktisi dan teman sejawat. Aktivitas pembelajaran IPA pada penelitian ini memungkinkan peserta didik memperoleh pengalaman secara langsung melalui interaksi dengan pelaku wirausaha pembuatan gerabah dan mebel Jepara sebagai bagian potensi lokal Jepara yang berkaitan dengan materi pembelajaran IPA. Hal ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam menyambut era globalisasi saat ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran IPA berbasis potensi lokal Jepara efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. Efektivitas pembelajaran ini ditunjukkan berdasarkan hasil uji t dengan nilai sig. 0,000.Kata Kunci: pembelajaran IPA, potensi lokal, keterampilan berpikir kritis Improving Students’ Critical Thinking Skill Through Science Teaching Based on Jepara’s Local Potential  AbstractThis research aims to analyzing the effectiveness of science teaching based on Jepara’s local potential to improve students’ critical thinking skill of SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. The mothods of research is quasi-experiment with the cluster random sampling and pretest-posttest control group design. Instruments of the research are lesson plan, student worksheet, and critical thinking skill test which have been valid through the expert, teacher, and peers validation. The science learning activity of this research makes students gain the experience directly through interaction with entrepreneurs of making pottery and furniture as part of Jepara’s local potential that related to science subject. It is expected to improve critical thinking skill of students to commemorate globalization.  The result of the research is science teaching based on Jepara’s local potential effective to improve students’ critical thinking skill of SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. Abstract

This research aimed to compile a product development, knowing the feasibility and knowing the effectiveness of challenge-based learning (CBL) modules in an environmental material to empower the critical thinking ability. The research was a research & development model of Borg & Gall. Validation the product was done by material expert, expert of development and design module, expert of device and evaluation of learning , a linguist and practitioner of learning of Biology. Subject of the research was a student of grade X MIA Islamic State Senior High School Karanganyar. This research results are: (1) module in the form of product module for teachers and students CBL based on environmental material was developed based on CBL syntax and indicators of Fascione's critical thinking that visualized in the objective, material, activities , and evaluation items; (2) appropriateness of module for teachers and student based on CBL environment material according to the validation results of qualified as good until very good; (3) Modules based CBL environmental material is effective to improve the ability of student critical thinking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran berbasis android dan mengidentifikasi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah kimia siswa. Prosedur penelitian pengembangan diadaptasi dari pengembangan ADDIE, terdiri dari lima tahap: analisis, desain, pengembangan, penerapan, dan evaluasi. Validasi produk dilakukan oleh ahli media dan ahli materi. Penilaian produk dilakukan oleh 5 guru kimia, 20 siswa untuk uji coba kelompok kecil, dan 56 siswa untuk uji coba lapangan. Evaluasi uji lapangan dilakukan untuk menentukan pengaruh media pembelajaran berbasis android terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah kimia. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi kuisioner penilaian media dan soal tes. Kuisioner penilaian diberikan kepada ahli media, ahli materi, guru, dan siswa. Soal tes diberikan kepada siswa setelah proses pembelajaran selesai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis android yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah kimia siswa SMA. Learning with android application to improve chemical problem-solving ability AbstractThis research aimed to produce an Android-based learning media and to identify improvement in students' chemistry problem-solving ability. The development research procedure were adapted from the ADDIE development, consist of five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Product validations were conducted by media experts and material experts. The product assessment were conducted by five chemistry teachers and 20 students for small group trials. The product evaluations were conducted by 56 students for field trials. Field test evaluations were carried out to determine the effect of android-based learning media on the ability to solve chemical problems. The instruments used in this study include media assessment questionnaires and test questions. Assessment questionnaires are given to media experts, material experts, teachers, and students. Test questions are given to students after the learning process is complete. The results showed that the Android-based learning media developed can improve chemical problem-solving ability of high school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Menganalisis kelayakan modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi reaksi oksidasi dan reduksi untuk siswa SMK kelas X, (2) Mengetahui efektivitas modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi reaksi oksidasi dan reduksi untuk siswa SMK kelas X. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D). Penelitian dilakukan di SMK N Kota Salatiga Program Studi Keahlian Teknik Otomotif. Kelayakan modul diketahui melalui tahap validasi ahli serta respon guru dan  siswa sedangkan efektifitas modul melalui penelitian eksperimen. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes untuk hasil belajar kognitif, lembar observasi untuk hasil belajar afektif dan psikomotor.  Hipotesis diuji menggunakan Anava dan Kruskal-Wallis one way analysis of variance. Hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan: (1) Modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi reaksi oksidasi dan reduksi yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran kimia, (2) Modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi reaksi oksidasi dan reduksi yang dikembangkan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Rata – rata hasil belajar siswa yang belajar menggunakan modul lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata – rata hasil belajar siswa yang belajar menggunakan LKS.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, modul, inkuiri terbimbing, reaksi oksidasi dan reduksiThe Development of Chemical Modules Based Guided Inquiry in the Oxidation and Reduction Reactions Matter  AbstractThis study was aimed to: (1) Analyze the feasibility of chemical module based on guided inquiry in oxidation and reduction reactions material on 10th grade students of vocational students, (2) Determine the effectiveness of chemical module based guided inquiry on oxidation and reduction reactions material on 10th grade students  of vocational students. This study is a Research and Development (R&D). The study was conducted in SMK N Salatiga in Automotive Engineering Skills Program. To determine the feasibility of the module through the validation by experts and the response from teachers and students. Whereas to determine the effectiveness of the module in the learning process through by experimental research. Data was collected using a test for cognitive learning outcomes, observation sheet for affective and psychomotor learning outcomes. The hypothesis was tested using ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance. The conclusion: (1) Developed chemical module based on guided inquiry in oxidation and reduction reactions material is fit as learning material in chemistry subject, (2) Developed chemical module based on guided inquiry in oxidation and reduction reactions material is effectively used to improve student learning outcomes. Average student learning outcomes that study using chemical modul is higher than the average student learning outcomes that study using worksheets.Keywords: development, modules, guided inquiry, oxidation and reduction reactions

Abstract

The study aimed at generating PBL-based learning kit product by utilizing blog, at meeting the criteria of learning kit feasibility, at testing the effectiveness of learning kit that the researcher had developed and at identifying the learning participants’ scientific process and problem solving skills. In conducting the study, the researcher implemented the 4-D Model. The learning kit development started involved preliminary study, product design, expert and practitioner test, limited experiment and field experiment. The instruments that had been deployed in conducting the study consisted of validation sheet, learning management observation sheet, student response sheet, teacher interview sheet and learning results test. This study generated a product that consisted of lesson plan, teacher’s book, student’s book, student’s working sheet, blog and learning results assessment. The validation results showed that the learning kit that had been developed were feasible for implementation. Then, the experiment results showed that the learning kit that the researcher had developed met the criteria of effectiveness. Based on the pretest and the posttest results that was administered during the field experiment, students’ physics learning has increased approximately 17.10 point from the pretest average score, namely 58.20, and from the posttest average score, namely 75.30.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan peneletian tentang pengembangan media video penggunaan alat gelas di Laboratorium pada mahasiswa tahun I Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan video penggunaan alat gelas di laboratorium yang layak digunakan sebagai panduan mahasiswa program studi pendidikan kimia FKIP Universitas Khairun dalam melakukan praktikum. Media video pengguaan alat gelas di Laboratorium ini dikembangkan berdasarkan kaidah pengembangan media pembelajaran yang diadaptasi dari tahap pengembangan 4D. Hasil pengembangan berupa video pengenalan dan penggunaan alat gelas di laboratorium dengan durasi 18 menit. Dari segi validitas media video, kedua produk tersebut dinyatakan sangat valid oleh 3 orang validator dengan nilai rata-rata 3,81 dari skala 4 dengan kategori sangat valid. Produk media video juga diukur keterbacaannya oleh 10 mahasiswa prodi pendidikan kimia FKIP Universitas Khairun dengan persentase keterbacaan sebesar 79,17%. Sedangkan angka keterlaksanaan praktikum menggunakan panduan kedua video tersebut di Laboratorium sebesar 67,50%. Video Development of Use of Chemical Laboratory Equipment in University AbstractThe research has been conducted to develop of video use of glassware in the laboratory at the first year students of the educational chemistry department. This study aims to produce a video of glass tools usage in a laboratory that was suitable to be used as a practicum module for students of educational chemistry department FKIP Khairun University. Video development methods based on learning media development principles adapted from the 4D development stage. The results of the development of a video introduction and use of glassware in the laboratory with a duration of 18 minutes. The validity of both was expressed by 3 validators with an average rating of 3.81 from a scale of 4 with very valid categories. Video products are also measured legibility by 10 students of educational chemistry department FKIP Khairun University with a percentage of legibility of 79.17%. While the practical implementation the video usage on practicum in the Laboratory of 67.50%.

Abstract

Kemampuan berargumentasi merupakan salah satu aspek dalam kemampuan berliterasi sains. Rendahnya skor pada survei PISA siswa Indonesia menunjukkan rendahnya kemampuan mereka dalam berargumen. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan berargumentasi dan kualitas argumentasi siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Process Oriented-Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) berkonteks isu-isu sosiosaintifik, POGIL, dan konvensional pada materi asam basa. Rancangan penelitian adalah eksperimen semu posstest only design. Sampel terdiri dari tiga kelas di salah satu SMAN di Kota Malang. Data diperoleh dari hasil tes keterampilan berargumentasi tertulis siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik terhadap keterampilan berargumentasi siswa di ketiga kelas penelitian (p=0.000). Kualitas argumentasi dianalisis menggunakan kerangka analitik Osborne. Pencapaian level argumentasi siswa kelas POGIL berkonteks isu-isu sosiosaintifik lebih tinggi daripada kelas POGIL dan konvensional. The effect of process oriented-guided inquiry learning with socioscientific issue contexts on high school students’ argument skills  AbstractThe argumentation ability is one of aspect of scientific literacy. The low scores on PISA survey of Indonesian students showed their low ability in argumentation. To address this problem,  this study aims to investigate the difference of students’argumentation skills who were taught using POGIL with socioscientific issues context, POGIL, and conventional learning. Research design was quasi-experimental postest only design. The sample consisted of three classes of a public senior high school in Malang. The data were obtained from students’ written argumentation. The result of this study showed significantly different statistic on students’argumetation skills in three classes (p=0,000). The quality of students’argumetation were classified using analytical framework by Osborne. Achievement of the argument level of POGIL class students contexted sociosaintific issues higher than POGIL class and conventional class.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan penilaian autentik pada mata pelajaran fisika SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Sleman Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY), (2) meng-identifikasi kendala keterlaksanaan penilaian autentik pada mata pelajaran fisika SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Sleman Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, dan (3) mendeskripsikan hubungan kebijakan kepala sekolah dan pelatihan yang telah diterima pendidik terhadap keterlaksanaan penilaian autentik. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini terdiri atas: angket, observasi, dan wawancara terhadap kepala sekolah, pendidik, dan peserta didik. Validitas instrumen penelitian diperoleh melalui expert judgments oleh dosen ahli. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Keterlaksanaan penilaian autentik mata pelajaran SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Sleman Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta kategori baik. (2) Kendala keterlaksanaan penilaian autentik mata pelajaran fisika SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Sleman Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta meliputi jenis materi, waktu, kondisi sekolah, dan kemampuan pendidik yang dipengaruhi oleh beban kerja pendidik. (3) Hubungan kebijakan kepala sekolah terhadap keterlaksanaan penilaian autentik kategori kuat, dan tidak terdapat hubungan antara pelatihan yang telah diterima pendidik dan keterlaksanaan penilaian autentik.Kata Kunci: keterlaksanaan, mata pelajaran fisika, penilaian autentik The Feasibility of Authentic Assessment on Physics Subject at State Senior High Schools  AbstractThis research aims to: (1) describe the feasibility of authentic assessment on physics subject at state senior high schools in Sleman regency Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY), (2) identify the obstacles of the feasibility of authentic assessment on physics subject at state senior high schools in Sleman regency Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, and (3) describe the correlation between the headmaster’s policy and teacher training to feasibility of authentic assessment. The data were collected through: questionnaire, observation, and interview with headmasters, teachers, and students. The validity of research instrument was measured by expert judgements. The results of this study are as follow. (1) The feasibility of authentic assessment on physics subject at state senior high schools in Sleman regency Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta is in good category. (2) The obstacles of the feasibility of authentic assessment on physics subject at state senior high schools in Sleman regency Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta include materials, time, school condition, and teacher’s ability which is affected by workload. (3) The correlation between headmaster’s policy and feasibility authentic assessment is in strong category, and there is no relationship between teacher training and authentic assessment implementation.Keywords: authentic assessment, feasibility, physics subject

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran biologi berbasis Adobe flash untuk peserta didik kelas, untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran biologi berbasis Adobe flash terhadap penguasaan kompetensi peserta didik. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengacu langkah yang dikembangkan oleh Borg Gall. Desain pengembangan dikelompokkan atas tiga prosedur, yang meliputi: (a) studi pendahuluan (b) pengembangan produk awal dan (c) evaluasi/ penilaian produk. Subjek coba terdiri atas ahli materi, ahli media, teman sejawat, guru biologi, peserta didik sejumlah 102 peserta didik. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner dan soal. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan uji anacova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran ditinjau dari aspek kualitas materi pembelajaran, kualitas design dan strategi pembelajaran dan kualitas teknis tampilan menurut ahli media dan ahli materi berkategori “baik”. Menurut teman sejawat, guru biologi dan peserta didik berkategori “sangat baik”. Penggunaan media flash berpengaruh lebih baik terhadap penguasaan kompetensi dibandingkan tanpa menggunakan media flash.Kata Kunci: media pembelajaran, sistem saraf, penguasaan kompetensi Developing Adobe Flash-Based Biology Instruction Media to Improve the Mastery of Competency in Curriculum 2013 AbstractThe research aims to develop Adobe flash-based biology instruction media, reveal the effect of teaching media on students’ competence mastery. The developmental study refers to the model suggested by Borg Gall. The developmental design was grouped into three developmental procedures, consisting of: preface study, developmental first product, and evaluation/ product assesment. Subject consist of subject matter expert, learning media expert, biology teacher, colleagues,102 students. Data colected by questionnaires and tests. Data were analyzed by quantitatively and anacova. The research findings reveal that the teaching media in term of quality of teaching content aspect, quality of design and teaching strategy aspect, quality of technical and appereance is categorized by subject matter and learning media expert “good”. According to colleagues, biology teachers and students the quality of media based on three aspects is “very good”. The aplication of flash media give better effect on the competence mastery compared without aplication of flash media.Keywords: instruction media, nervous system, competence mastery
