Abstract

In the contemporary digital era, the pervasive use of smartphones, particularly among Generation Z, has become a prevalent phenomenon across various settings, including professional environments. One of the deleterious effects of this phenomenon is what has been termed "phone snubbing behavior" (PSB), which is defined as the tendency to ignore in-person social interactions due to excessive focus on mobile devices. The objective of this research is to validate the mediating function of self-management or self-control on the relationship PSB, which is defined as the excessive use of smartphones during social interactions that ultimately impedes communication among Generation Z employees in the West Sulawesi government among the selected population. It is therefore recommended that they enhance their self-control to mitigate the impact of PSB and promote effective communication in the work environment. The study employed a purposive sampling technique, selecting a sample of 228 respondents from a total population of 7.112. The data analysis was conducted using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). The study's findings indicate that PSB exerts a negative influence on social interaction; PSB has a negative impact on self-control; Self-control has a positive effect on social interaction; Self-control directly mediates the influence of PSB on social interaction. This research makes a significant contribution by delving deeper into the behavioral influences of PSBs in a governmental context and suggesting a practical approach through enhancing self-control to reduce technology-induced disruptions to interpersonal communication. This issue is increasingly relevant in today's digital age.

Abstract

Human resource practices play a critical role in influencing employee behavior and organizational outcomes, particularly in reducing turnover intention through increased organizational commitment and engagement. The goal of this study is to determine how human resource practices which include career management, compensation satisfaction, performance evaluation, individual job fit, and work control affect turnover when organizational commitment and engagement are used as interventions. With 330 employees from Syariah Hotels in Purwokerto as the whole population or test used, this consideration fits into the causal-comparative inquiry kind. The SPLS software application is used for information analysis. Out of the twelve proposed hypotheses, six were supported. Organizational commitment was significantly influenced by person-job fit and performance appraisal, while organizational engagement was significantly influenced by career management and performance appraisal. The remaining hypotheses were not supported, potentially due to contextual factors such as employee perception of HR practices, uneven implementation across departments, or demographic characteristics that moderated the expected effects. Additionally, organizational engagement and commitment characteristics may affect turnover. This study found that both organizational commitment and engagement significantly mediate the relationship between HR practices and employees' turnover intention, highlighting the importance of fostering a committed and engaged workforce to reduce turnover rates.

Abstract

The skincare market in Indonesia is experiencing rapid growth, driven by the increasing young population. This research examined the impact of brand image, viral marketing, and influencer marketing on consumer purchasing decisions, with Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) as a mediating factor. A quantitative approach is employed, utilizing a non-probability sampling method, specifically incidental sampling. The sample consists of 220 consumers in Indonesia who have purchased and used Skintific skincare products. Data was collected through an online questionnaire. The analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis with SPSS and inferential analysis through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results indicated that brand image and viral marketing did not significantly affect purchasing decisions, but influencer marketing had a positive and significant effect. In contrast, FoMO had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Additionally, brand image, viral marketing, and influencer marketing positively and significantly influenced FoMO. FoMO is a mediating variable that strengthens the impact of brand image, viral marketing, and influencer marketing on purchasing decisions. These findings suggested that, in marketing strategies, fostering FoMO through various campaigns can be a more effective approach to driving consumer purchasing decisions. These findings contribute to the company by optimizing the impact of FoMO on Skintific through strategies such as launching limited-edition products, offering time-limited deals, and utilizing real-time user reviews to encourage consumers to make quicker purchase decisions.

Abstract

Environmental and sustainability issues are becoming increasingly urgent in today’s global business. The rapidly growing hospitality industry in Indonesia faces significant challenges in integrating green leadership principles into financial management to achieve sustainable business performance. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of green leadership on sustainable financial management, as well as the moderating role of governance within the hospitality sector. A quantitative approach was adopted, with data collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 150 hotel respondents across various regions in Indonesia. Purposive sampling was employed to select respondents with decision-making authority in sustainability-related practices. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the research hypotheses. The results unveiled that green leadership significantly influenced sustainable financial management in the hospitality industry. Furthermore, governance played a moderating role, strengthening this relationship. Specifically, strategic governance practices such as transparency, accountability, and ethical compliance enhanced the positive impact of green leadership on sustainability performance. This study provides practical implications for hospitality industry players, highlighting the importance of fostering proactive green leadership and implementing effective governance mechanisms as essential steps to address environmental pressures and achieve long-term business sustainability.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of green human resource management (HRM) practices on employee performance within the state banking sector, emphasizing the mediating roles of transformational leadership, employee affective commitment, and readiness to change capability. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing purposive sampling to select participants. Data were gathered through online and in-person questionnaires, with follow-up reminders increasing the response rate. A total of 500 questionnaires were distributed, yielding 390 responses, with 360 deemed valid and subsequently included in the analysis. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and multivariate analysis were used to test the hypotheses and examine relationships between variables. The findings confirmed that green HRM practices enhanced employee performance by fostering affective commitment and change readiness. Transformational leadership further strengthens this relationship by improving employees’ adaptability and engagement. This study’s novelty lies in integrating green HRM with transformational leadership and change readiness as key mechanisms for improving employee performance. However, its focus on affective commitment limits the generalizability of findings, as other forms of commitment remain unexplored. Additionally, combining private and state-owned bank respondents may obscure sector-specific insights. Future research should address these gaps by expanding the scope to different industries and assessing practical applications of green HRM strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of political connection and its role in moderating the influence of capital structure and corporate governance on a firm’s value. The study was conducted on 97 samples of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2020-2024 that were established about 10 years old or more, collected from various types of industrial sectors, with limitations on the criteria of ownership of political officials or political party officials (politically connected), family ownership who also serves as political officials (politically connected), pure ownership of businessman families (not politically connected), and central and/or regional government ownership (politically connected). The study used random sampling and panel data from the moderating regression analysis to examine the relationship between political connection, capital structure, and DAR proxy on a firm's value. A significant positive relationship between these factors and Tobin's Q was found. However, there was a negative association between political connection-moderated DAR and Tobin's Q. The study also uncovered a negative relationship between board size and the proportion of independent commissioners, but a positive relationship between board size and political connection. The study's novelty is that it fills the literature gap, investigating how the influence of capital structure and governance, moderated through political connections, affects the firm’s value, which other studies have not exhaustively studied.

Abstract

In response to the growing technological disruption, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) require a comprehensive digital ecosystem as a crucial strategy to enhance their capabilities and competitiveness in a dynamic market. This study aims to develop and empirically validate a comprehensive digital ecosystem model grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory to enhance the competitive advantage of government-assisted MSMEs through optimizing the role of marketing performance. Based on the RBV theory, the research focuses on an in-depth analysis of four key elements of the MSME digital ecosystem: digital platform adoption capability, business incubator program effectiveness, MSME digital literacy, and collaboration capability. The research was conducted using a survey method on 238 MSME respondents from various sectors in Central Java, Indonesia. The research data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-AMOS). The results prove that digital platform adoption, business incubator programs, digital literacy, and collaboration capabilities significantly affect MSMEs' marketing performance and competitive advantage. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of building a comprehensive MSME digital ecosystem by adopting technology, business incubator programs, digital literacy, and MSME collaboration capabilities to improve MSME competitiveness. This research contributes to the marketing management literature by expanding the application of the Resource-Based View theory in the context of MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) and sustainable dynamic capability on sustainable business performance, while analyzing the moderating role of organizational inertia. A quantitative research design was applied, using survey data collected from 120 manufacturing companies in West Java, Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS to test the hypothesized relationships among variables. The results indicate that both GHRM and sustainable dynamic capability significantly and positively affect sustainable business performance. Moreover, organizational inertia was found to moderate the relationship between GHRM and sustainable business performance, where higher levels of inertia weaken the positive effect of GHRM on business sustainability outcomes. This study is limited to manufacturing companies located in West Java, Indonesia, which may affect the generalizability of the findings to other regions or industries. Future research could broaden the scope by including different sectors and geographic areas to validate and extend these results. Additionally, longitudinal studies are recommended to observe the dynamic effects of GHRM and sustainability capabilities over time. This study offers novel insights into the interaction between GHRM, sustainable dynamic capability, and organizational inertia in achieving sustainable business performance, contributing to both sustainability and HRM literature.

Abstract

In today’s multigenerational workforce, managing diversity has become a strategic challenge for sustaining organizational performance, particularly in industrial zones such as Batam City. This study investigates the effect of diversity management on organizational performance among Generation Y and Z employees, with organizational climate as a mediating factor. A total of 280 employees aged 15–45 years participated as respondents, selected through purposive sampling to represent Generations Y and Z. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that diversity management significantly enhances organizational performance directly and indirectly through organizational climate. The results also confirm that diversity management positively shapes organizational climate, contributing to higher performance levels. These findings highlight the critical role of inclusive practices and supportive work climates in transforming generational diversity into innovation, engagement, and productivity. Theoretically, this study contributes by integrating diversity management and organizational climate frameworks into a unified model. Practically, it guides organizations in industrial clusters to implement inclusive strategies that optimize the potential of Generation Y and Z employees in achieving sustainable performance.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of users' perceptions of usefulness and ease of use on their intention to adopt digital payment methods, with attitude serving as an intervening factor. By employing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this study delivers meaningful input for technology developers and decision-makers to understand the key elements affecting users’ acceptance of digital payment platforms. Primary data for this study were obtained from a questionnaire of 200 urban communities in Indonesia that use digital payments in transactions using non-probability sampling techniques. This study used the SEM-PLS method using SmartPLS 3. The findings indicated that Perceived Usefulness (X1) does not exert a significant influence on Attitude (Y). However, Perceived Usefulness (X1) is known to be able to influence Behavior Intention (Z) directly. Attitude (Y) significantly affects Behavior Intention (Z). Perceived Ease of Use (X2) significantly influences Attitude (Y). Still, it cannot directly influence Behavior Intention (Z), which means that digital payments must be easy to use to shape supportive attitudes toward digital payments and increase intention to use. While enhancing perceived usefulness can directly increase users’ intention to adopt these technologies, improving ease of use is essential for fostering positive attitudes, which in turn shape behavioral intentions.
