Abstract

This study examines the impact of crises, non-performing financing variables, exchange rates, inflation, and interest rates on Islamic banks' short-term and long-term profitability in Indonesia. Profitability (ROA) fluctuations are also assessed in consideration of exogenous shocks. This analysis uses the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to examine monthly data from 2007 to 2023. The results suggest that non-performing financing (NPF), exchange rates (BIRT), and inflation (IFLS) have a substantial impact on the long term. While the crisis variable exhibits a relatively less substantial influence, interest rates reveal distinct short-term and long-term impacts. The Impulse Response Function data indicate that NPF, KURS, and IFLS have a negligible effect on ROA. NPF primarily influences ROA variation, as determined by the Forecast Error Variance Decomposition; KURS follows suit. Islamic Banks' management must diligently oversee non-performing loans, exchange rates, and inflation and astutely devise interest rate strategies. The factors impacting the profitability of Islamic banks in Indonesia are thoroughly examined in this study.

Abstract

Employees working for the Ministry of Religion in the South Papua Province have a range of tasks related to community service in religious affairs. The demanding workload in this role calls for extra effort from the employees. This research aims to explore how work stress acts as a mediator in the relationship between leadership style, workload, and income adequacy with work fatigue among Ministry of Religion employees in the South Papua Province. Data was collected through a survey involving 153 participants. The findings from the structural equation modeling analysis reveal that leadership style has a significant negative impact on work stress, while workload has a significant positive impact on work stress. However, income adequacy does not seem to affect work stress. Moreover, leadership style negatively impacts work fatigue, whereas workload has a positive impact on work fatigue. Income adequacy, on the other hand, does not have a significant impact on work fatigue. The study ultimately concludes that work stress plays a role in mediating the relationship between leadership style and workload with work fatigue. However, work stress does not mediate the effect of income adequacy on job burnout.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between commercial bank financial performance, share price dynamics, and the role of profitability as a moderating variable. Data from 47 commercial banks (conventional and sharia) in Indonesia during the period from the first quarter of 2021 to the third quarter of 2023 was used to test the hypothesis. Independent variables include Net Interest Margin (NIM) and Operational Costs compared to Operating Income (BOPO), while the dependent variable is share price dynamics. Profitability, measured through Return On Assets (ROA) and Return On Equity (ROE), is implemented as a moderating variable. The results of the moderated multiple regression analysis show that financial performance does not directly have a significant influence on stock prices. On the other hand, profitability directly has a positive effect on stock prices. Furthermore, profitability strengthens the relationship between financial performance and share prices, indicating that banks with high profitability tend to experience a more significant impact of financial performance on share price changes. Although it only explains 13.4% of share price variability, these findings provide an in-depth understanding of the factors influencing share price dynamics in the banking sector.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the quality of leader-member exchange towards organizational commitment with job satisfaction as an intervening variable on employees of The Central Statistics Office (BPS) in Bali. This study collects primary data via a self-enumerated questionnaire with 7-points Likert scale ranging from "Strongly Disagree" to "Strongly Agree." With a population of 264 employees, the sample method employed is saturated sampling or census. This study's sample had 173 respondents, with a response rate of 65.5% of the population. The SEM-PLS method was used to analyze the data with the Smart PLS 3.0 tool. The findings revealed that job satisfaction fully mediates the influence of the quality of the leader-member exchange on organizational commitment. The findings indicate that the quality of leader-member exchange may not necessarily boost employee’s organizational commitment if they are not satisfied with their jobs. As a result, in order to boost employee commitment, leader must be able to build quality relationships to increase the job satisfaction of his/her subordinates.

Abstract

Introduction / Main Objectives: This research aims to investigate how other Asian stock markets have affected the Indonesian market and how much of an effect they have had. Background Problems: Looking at the capital market is a way to measure the health and growth of a country's economy. Consequently, a nation will employ a wide range of measures to lessen the impact of potential threats and make the most of its available resources. Research Methods: Using daily time series data from 2010 to 2022, the number of observations in this study reached 2712. This study employs vector autoregression (VAR). Findings/Results: The study's findings indicated that the stock indices of Malaysia and Thailand affected the Indonesian indices. The Indonesian stock market index (IHSG) reacted negatively to the indices of the Philippines (PSEI), Malaysia (KLCI), and South Korea (KOSPI) and positively to those of Hong Kong (HANG SENG), Thailand (SETI), and Japan (NIKKEI). Conclusion: Capital market portfolio diversification allows investors to evaluate alternative investing techniques. It is essential to have a diversified worldwide portfolio while trading on Asian exchanges. The study's findings shed light on the Asian stock market's tendencies and patterns in novel ways.
