Abstract

The majority of individuals residing in Tigawasa Village, located in the Banjar District of Buleleng Regency in Bali, have been engaging in the traditional craft of bamboo weaving for many generations. This pastime is commonly practiced in nearly all households, engaging the majority of family members. It is crucial to conserve and enhance the village's significant capacity to make high-quality woven goods in order to maximize the community's welfare. This study investigates the assessment of the sustainability of the creative economy of woven bamboo crafts across various dimensions, including economic, social, environmental, institutional, and behavioral aspects. The research used Multi-Dimensional Scaling and Monte Carlo analysis, which are incorporated into the Rapfish software update. The investigation reveals that the sustainability index for the dimensions of economic, social, environmental, and entrepreneurial behavior falls within the moderate group. However, the softness factor is classified as less sustainable. To enhance the sustainability index of the creative economy of bamboo-woven crafts in Tigawasa Village, it is necessary to implement interventions that leverage factors in each dimension. Keywords: Bali crafting, Traditional craft, Creative economy, Sustainability

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of leadership styles on group organisational citizenship behaviour (GOCB) and group performance in a cross-cultural context of three ASEAN countries: Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. Questionnaires were distributed to respondents using local language, and a total of 691 items of data were analysed. The study supports the proposition that supportive leadership positively affects GOCB and group performance, confirming social exchange theory, which posits that if leaders create close relationships with employees, this will make them more engaged in their groups and strive harder to achieve the group goals. The study also supports the notion that directive leadership has a subtle favourable impact on GOCB and group performance. Employees are motivated to fulfil their tasks beyond what is required when managers define how they should conduct their work. Furthermore, the results also indicate that GOCB positively influences group performance, as it facilitates the social functioning of groups. Although the overall results are the same for the three countries, they include distinct explanations that underlie the results.  Keywords: Group organisational citizenship behaviour, Group performance, Leadership, cross-culture

Abstract

This study focuses on revealing the power of social capital and organizational learning capabilities to increase business performance by using business model innovation as a mediation variable. The population of this study was micro and small enterprises in Palembang amounting to 1.103 SMEs and the sample used was 172 SMEs. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling assuming micro and small enterprises are still actively running their businesses until Agustus 2023. Data analysis uses an SEM-based structural model approach. The survey findings revealed that social capital could significantly improve business model innovation but not for business performance. Organizational learning capabilities could significantly improve business model innovation and performance. Then, business model innovation can reinforce social capital ties, organizational learning capabilities, and business performance. This survey expands the existing knowledge by scrutinizing the role of business model innovation as mediation between social capital and organizational learning capabilities, and, hence, makes a notable adjunct to the existing knowledge in the micro and small enterprises context by concentrating on the connection between social capital, organizational learning capability, business model innovation, and business performance. Keywords: Business model innovation, Business performance, Organizational learning  capabilities, Social capital, SMEs
