Abstract

The purpose of the research is to know if there is any difference between the skill of students in a science process and the students critically thinking ability using inquiry training’s model of computer base. The method used in the research is quasi experiment or consisting two variables (classes),one class used as an experiment and one as a control class. The result shownthat skill of students in a science process are N-gain experiment class 0.84(high category) and control class 0.68 (medium category). On the contrarybased on the students critically thinking ability of N-gain experiment class0.75 (high category) and control class 0.67 (medium category). Therefore inquiry training’s model of computer base significantly give a better outcomethan inquiry training’s model.

Abstract

The objective in this research to improve understanding of the concepts and learning activity of students in solving physics problems through learning models of Cooperative type STAD based structured worksheet. The subjects were first grade students of SMA Swasta Galih Agung numbered 21 people consisted of 21 girls. Object of research is a process of learning by applying Cooperative type STAD model of learning. The research method was applied action research through two learning cycles, each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results of the data analysis shown that through the application of Cooperative type STAD based structured worksheet model of learning there is an increasing mastery of physics concepts and learning activity first grade students. Increased mastery of physics concepts is seen from increase the number of students who pass out of 10 students (47,62%) to 18 students (85,7%) with averages of 66,62 and 81,09, the learning outcomes completeness criteria of a minimum of 65. Increasing students' learning activity was view from the first and second cycles includes Visual with an average of 81,90% to 91,42%, Oral with an average of 80% to 87,90%, Listening with an average of 81,27% to 84,15%, Writing with an average of 78,08 to 85,41%, Motor with an average of 72,05% to 80%, Mental with an average of 71,44% to 82,20% and Emotional with an average of 73,03% to 82,24%.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of learning model problem based learning on problem solving ability and critical thinking ability of the students. This research is a quasi experimental research with two group pretest posttest design. The population of this research is all students of class VIII Junior high school 2 Kotanopan. The sample selection is done by cluster random sampling that is class VIII-1 as experiment class applied problem-based learning model and class VIII-3 as control class applied conventional learning. Instrument used in this research is instrument of problem solving ability and critical thinking ability in the form of essay test which have been declared valid by expert team. From result of research concluded that problem solving ability in student applying model of learning problem based learning better than student with conventional learning and critical thinking ability in student applying problem based learning model better than critical thinking ability to student with conventional learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine: (1) Is there a difference in student's learning outcomes with the application of learning models Investigation Group and Direct Instruction teaching model. (2) Is there a difference in students' motivation with the application of learning models Investigation Group and Direct Instruction teaching model, (3) Is there an interaction between learning models Investigation Group and Direct Instruction to improve students' motivation in learning outcomes Physics. This research is a quasi experimental. The study population was a student of class XII Tanjung Balai MAN. Random sample selection is done by randomizing the class. The instrument used consisted of: (1) achievement test (2) students' motivation questionnaire. The tests are used to obtain the data is shaped essay. The data in this study were analyzed using ANOVA analysis of two paths. The results showed that: (1) there were differences in learning outcomes between students who used the physics model of Group Investigation learning compared with students who used the Direct Instruction teaching model. (2) There was a difference in student's learning outcomes that had a low learning motivation and high motivation to learn both in the classroom and in the classroom Investigation Group Direct Instruction. (3) There was interaction between learning models Instruction Direct Group Investigation and motivation to learn in improving learning outcomes Physics.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness through Batak culture based cooperative learning models and to know the improvement of generic science skills and student’s teamwork by applying learning tools through Batak culture based cooperative learning models. This research is a Research and Development (R & D) using the 4-D model that includes define, design, develop, and disseminate.  This research was conducted at the school of SMA Negeri 1 Tambangan with a population of 21 students in class X MIA I. Instruments and techniques of data collection using learning device validation sheets, namely validation sheets of lesson plan (RPP), validation sheets for student worksheets (LKS), validation sheets for generic science skills instruments and student’s teamwork, sheets of learning practicality assessment, learning effectiveness sheets, learning activity instruments, instruments generic science skills and student’s teamwork questionnaires. Improved generic science skills and  student’s teamwork using analysis with N-gain test. The results showed that the learning materials through Batak culture based cooperative learning models had met the criteria of valid, practical and effective. Students generic science skills increase to the medium category and there is an increase in student’s teamwork with the medium category

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inquiry training terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII Semester I pada materi pokok Usaha dan Energi di MTs N 3 Medan T.P 2010. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 5 kelas secara acak yaitu kelas VIII-D sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 34 orang dan kelas VIII-C sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah36 orang. Hasil analisis data melalui uji t menunjukkan bahwa diperoleh thitung = 1,71 dan ttabel = 1,67, sehingga thitung > ttabel, artinya Ha diterima. Dapat disimpulkan ada pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training pada materi pokok usaha dan energi kelas VIII semester I MTs N 3 Medan.

Abstract

The study was aimed to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model towards student outcomes and learning activity in optica Geometric material. The type of this research was quasy experiment. The population of this research was all of the students class X SMA Negeri 5 Medan A.Y 2014/2015 which was consist of 5 classes. X MIA 5 was choosen as experimental group and X MIA 3 as Control group by using cluster random sampling. The Instrument used was learning outcomes and student’ activity observation sheet. Based on the hypothesis of the average value, pretest shows that both of the class had the same early abilities. After the treatment, found that the average value of post-test in experimental class by using problem-based learning was 76,34 and control class by using conventional learning was 72,56. The result of test showed that data normally distribution and homegeneous. Then, was made a hypothesis experiment that giving t count (1,83)> t table(1,67), so Ha was accepted. Later, from the observation data showed that the students learning activity in experimental group was belong to the active category. Finally, it could be concluded that there was an effect of Problem based learning model towards the learning outcames and learning activity in optical geometric material.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyz : student’s science process skill using inquiry training learning model is better than konvesional learning.Student’s science process skill who have logical thinking ability above average are better than under average,and the interaction between inquiry training media and logical thinking ability to increase student’s science process skill.The experiment was conducted in SMP 6 Medan as population and class VII-K and VII-J were chosen as sample through cluster random sampling.Science prosess skill used essay test and logical thinking used multiple choice as instrument.Result of the data was analyzed by using two ways ANAVA.Result show that : student’s science process skill using inquiry training learning model is better than konvesional learning,student’s science process skill who logical thinking ability above average are better than under average and the interaction between inquiry training learning model media and logical thinking ability to increase student’s science process skill.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: Untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaanhasil belajar fisika siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan  model pembelajaranProblem Solving dengan yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaranDirect Instruction, untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan hasil belajarfisika siswa yang memiliki sikap ilmiah rendah dan sikap ilmiah tinggi,untuk mengetahui apakah ada Interaksi antara model pembelajaran ProblemSolving dengan tingkat sikap ilmiah siswa dalam mempengaruhi hasilbelajar siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara cluster randomsampling sebanyak dua kelas, dimana kelas pertama sebagai kelas eksperimen diterapkan model pembelajaran Problem Solving dan kelas keduasebagai kelas kontrol diterapkan model pembelajaran Direct Instruction.Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu instrumen tes hasilbelajar fisika dalam bentuk uraian sebanyak 8 soal dan insrumen angketsikap ilmiah sebanyak 22 soal yang telah dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Darihasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajarfisika siswa dengan model pembelajaran Problem Solving dan modelpembelajaran Direct Instruction. Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar fisikaantara sikap ilmiah rendah dan sikap ilmiah tinggi. Terdapat interaksi antaramodel pembelajaran Problem Solving dengan sikap ilmiah siswa dalammempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci: problem solving, sikap ilmiah, hasil belajar

Abstract

The study aims to develop a four-tier diagnostic test that can be used to identify students' misconceptions in wave and optical material. This research is developing research using the Plomp development model that was elaborated by the procedure for developing a four-tier diagnostic test by Pesman and Eryilmaz. The study was conducted in three junior high schools located in the Lembang sub-district in class VIII students. The instruments used were expert validation sheets, identification sheets of alternative concepts for students, and empirical validation instruments. Data analysis used is quantitative analysis by looking at the quality of the items. The results of the study showed that the content validity test obtained a CVI value of 0,848 which meant that the criteria were very suitable. The empirical validity test obtained the value of MNSQ outfit 1,00 and ZSTD outfit -0.0 which meant that it was included in the criteria of accepted values. While Point Measure Correlation, the whole item is included in the predetermined range. Item reliability is 0.93 and the alpha cronbach value of 0.85 also shows that the instrument developed has good reliability. The value of person Measure -0.29 < logit 0.0 indicates that the level of difficulty of the question includes a very good category. Overall, it can be concluded that the four-tier diagnostic test developed has met the criteria and is declared feasible to be used to identify students' misconceptions in wave and optical material
