Abstract

Nowadays, Islamic thought is trapped on the stagnancy of ideas. Such condition happens because the function of Islam changes, from an instrument for freedom to a rigid system of ideology. The similar pattern of change identified by Feyerabend also exists in the modern science. The similarity of the pattern inspired the writer to elaborate the concept of anarchy epistemology of Paul Feyerabend and its implication to the Islamic thought. This article uses philosophical hermeneutic  approach by Gadamer in investigating meaningful sense of Feyerabend thought. The conclusion of the study ends up with the importance of returning Islamic thought to the pluralistic environment  because Islam itself was not burn in a single thought but at least there are three epistemic patrons; Bayani, Burhani, and ‘Irfani.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education is closely related to improving human resource. Meanwhile, the quality of human resources at school is a partly relied to the quality of the principal. A principal is responsible to the success or failure of education. The problem lies upon the difficulty to find a credible principal who can manage the institution quite well. The jobs of a principal are (1) encourage the teachers to have continuous professional development, (2) become role model for everybody at school, (3) make innovation for the institution.

Abstract

The phenomenon of punishment that implanted in pesantren is one of the educational method that often used by educators to overcome the students who behave less well with the reason to improve the behavior of learners. Even such punishment leads to the violence. The importance of discussion its punishment in pesantren is because it is considered less relevant to education today. This study aims to explain the reasons why the teachers in boarding schools apply penalties for violators of the boarding school and is there any impact from it. The researcher conducted an indepth interview of punishment phenomenon in pesantren to find the data as much as possible for complete result. So the result of this research is the punishment given to students must appropriate to the procedure. So students can feel positive impact caused by the punishment.

Abstract

Reaveling the marginalize of Islamic education, the developing proces of Islam education organization must be upheld. In this case the science of management is needed. Managing educational institutions of Islam means the process of institutional restructuring of Islamic education involving the human resources and non-human to raise a purpose of islam education efectively and efisienly. Talking about human resource management, the leadership becomes important factor to be used as a reference in institutional development. Transformative leadership can be an alternative method to lead an Islam education institution. Therefore, here where the function of the dimensions of the role of the concept is expected to provide a major influence in the leadership in Islamic Education Institution.

Abstract

Leadership behavior of principal, teacher welfare, and teacher work motivation are important to be implemented because it can affect teacher performance at MAN in Blitar Regency. This study examines the behavior of principal leadership, teacher welfare, and teacher work motivation on teacher performance at MAN in Blitar Regency. Population of this study is 170 teachers and taken as many as 114 teachers as sample through proportional random sampling method with table Isaac and Michael with 5% error rate. The results showed that partially the leadership behavior of principals have a significant positive effect on teacher performance at MAN in Blitar Regency. Variables of teacher welfare have a significant positive effect on teacher performance at MAN in Blitar Regency. Other results showed the teacher work motivation has a significant positive effect on teacher performance at MAN in Blitar Regency.

Abstract

Learning is a process, way, and action of human for learning. Learning combines about human, facilities, devices, and procedure mutual to influence human purpose to learn. Memorize the Holy Quran is someone who memorize the Holy Quran or understand The Holy Quran by heart. This research is carried in Nurul Huda Boarding School Mergosono Malang. In this Boarding School the students are educated to understand the classical Islamic scripture. This research is focused  on memorizing  Holy Quran program because memorize Holy Quran program in Nurul Huda Boarding School has a target in which the student can finalize their memorize in 3 years. This research case study is to know how about learning memorizes of the Holy Quran in Nurul Huda Boarding School Mergosono Malang. Moreover, it is to know the difficulties and obstacles memorizing the Holy Quran and to know whether the students can finish their memorization in 3 years or not. This research is a Qualitative research method. The data resources are primer and seconder data. The accumulation data combines with observation, interview, documentation, and inquiry. The analysis data to pass with rank data, course data, verifying and comparative analysis.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon which is telling that education should be managed with the strategic management in order to be able to choose among a lot of good management to produce a most excellent management to be developed. This research was conducted in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Kunir Wonodadi Blitar and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Blitar. The approach which was used in this study was a qualitative approach to the multi-site study. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation.  The results of this study concluded that: Strategic planning at MAN Kota Blitar was conducted through activities, the formation of the formulating vision and mission team, the determination of the vision and mission, analyzes opportunities, threats, barriers, and alternative of the problem solving, Ma'had procurement, opening the enrichments class, increasing learning, and improving the quality of educators. Strategic evaluation in MAN Kunir was conducted through: official meetings, meeting with the headmaster and committees, special meeting headmaster and vice of headmaster, teacher, employees, and the headmaster meetings, and committee meetings. While in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Blitar was conducted through: official meetings, meeting with the headmaster, and committees, special meeting headmaster vice of headmaster, teachers, employees, and the headmaster meeting, activities meeting.

Abstract

Management of capacity development refers to a process in which individual, group, organization, institutional, and society develop their potential both individually and collectively to implement their function, solve their problem, achieve their targets individually in the effort of establishing excellent schools. By the of a program coherence dimension in the context of school capacity development, this qualitative study is conducted at the State Junior High School 1 Tulungagung. The research results reveal that both of the schools have formulated the planning of institutional capacity development as a reference in actuating and evaluating of the school capacity development to perform excellent school profile. The planning of capacity development at excellent schools is just a dream and together with the schools’ stakeholdersthe built planning for school institutional development is formulated. The formulation is in the forms of school’s work planning, annual work planning, or activity program planning and school budgeting. The implementation of the capacity development at excellent schools is initiated by preparing human resource quality and school infrastructure. Meanwhile, the evaluation of the capacity development at excellent schools is done by conducting a supervision to observe the appropriateness between both planning and the action and between planning and the achieved results. If the predetermined of standard indicatorshave been achieved and even they exceed to the indicators, it can be stated that the development of school institutional capacity must be achieved as well.

Abstract

Soft skill is a skill of person that build relationships with others and self-organizing skills. Teachers as a determinant of the potential development of students is not enough can only teach (transfer of knowledge). Moreover, the teacher as a model for the student must have a good personality and social. So teachers are required to develop continuously the ability of personality (intra personal skills) and social skills (inter personal skills). The development of intra personal skills includes: developing the power of consciousness, goals, beliefs, love, concentration, and decisions. The development of interpersonal skills includes: many smiles, appreciative, active listener, active cooperate, mediator, communication ability, humor, empathy, and not easy to complain.

Abstract

Islamic education is the responsibility of the community and the government. To raise and advance education then required strategy. One of them is a strategy to strengthen the heart Islamic education, namely educator, library, and laboratory. They are a source of learning that most powerful thing to build personality school tuition. Strategy strengthens educator could be done by monitoring and evaluation by institutions through an assessment performance and hold internal training and involve outside training. Then to complete function library could be done by furnish library collection and allocating funding to increase the collection and improving facilities and infrastructure library including photocopy, online access library, and search engine book. The strategy we can do for strengthening laboratory among others by preparing a laboratory technician that not only mastering in managing the laboratory but also in Islamic scientific, prepare facilities and infrastructure in the lab and obliges in educator to use laboratory by order to support their teaching.
