Abstract

This study aims to measure how much influence the intrinsic and extrinsic work motivation on employee performance. The study was conducted in the Library, Archives and Documentation (BPAD) Bengkulu province, with the sample amounted to 95 people. Respondents in this study were employees, including librarians. The method used is descriptive research with quantitative approach. Results are expected to contribute to improving the performance of employees in accordance with the ISO 11620 standard in 2008 about the performance of the library. Data collection techniques used in this study is a questionnaire or questionnaires, observations, interviews, literature study. Type of questionnaire used in this study was a questionnaire enclosed with the scale used is the Likert scale. To measure the effect between the study variables, using path analysis (path analysis) with Lisrel 8.80 program applications as well as statistical data processing of data with SPSS version 15.0. Conclusions following research, Effect of intrinsic motivation on employee performance in BPAD Bengkulu simultaneously with a significant difference shown by the results of the calculation of t> t table, as well as the positive path coefficient, meaning that the higher intrinsic job motivation, the higher the employee performance ; Extrinsic work motivation on employee performance in BPAD Bengkulu simultaneously there is positive, meaning that the higher the extrinsic job motivation will be higher the employee's performance, as well as the path coefficient indicated by the calculation of t> t table, so the extrinsic job motivation significant influence on employee performance.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur berapa besar pengaruh motivasi kerja intrinsik dan ektrinsik terhadap kinerja pegawai. Penelitian dilakukan di Badan Perpustakaan, Arsip dan Dokumentasi (BPAD) Propinsi Bengkulu, dengan sampel berjumlah 95 orang. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah para pegawai termasuk pustakawan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kinerja pegawai yang sesuai dengan standar ISO 11620 tahun 2008 tentang kinerja perpustakaan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam  penelitian ini adalah, angket atau kuesioner, observasi, wawancara, studi kepustakaan. Jenis angket yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket tertutup dengan skala yang digunakan adalah skala Likert. Untuk mengukur pengaruh antar variabel penelitian, menggunakan Analisis Jalur (Path Analysis) dengan aplikasi program Lisrel 8.80 serta pengolahan data statistik data dengan bantuan program SPSS versi 15.0.  Kesimpulan penelitian sebagai berikut, Pengaruh motivasi kerja intrinsik terhadap kinerja pegawai di BPAD Propinsi Bengkulu secara simultan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dengan ditunjukkan oleh hasil perhitungan thitung > ttabel, serta dengan koefisien jalur yang positif, artinya semakin tinggi motivasi kerja intrinsik maka semakin tinggi pula kinerja pegawai; Motivasi kerja ektrinsik terhadap kinerja pegawai di BPAD Propinsi Bengkulu secara simultan terdapat pengaruh positif, artinya semakin tinggi motivasi kerja ektrinsik maka akan semakin tinggi pula kinerja pegawai, serta dengan koefisien jalur yang ditunjukkan dengan hasil perhitungan thitung > ttabel, sehingga motivasi kerja ektrinsik berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai.

Abstract

Information science is an interdisciplinary science which deals with the interpretation of the information and matters relating to the cognitive process, the context and the phenomenon of information. Information science is still a new science that was founded in 1950 and currently still in bloom. At first the science of information is closely connected to the system, but is now turning to human factors in information, including information behavior and ergonomics.Ilmu Informasi adalah ilmu interdisipliner yang membahas tentang interpretasi informasi dan berbagai hal terkait dengan proses kognitif, konteks dan fenomena informasi. Ilmu informasi masih merupakan ilmu baru yang berdiri sejak tahun 1950an dan saat ini masih dalam masa berkembang. Pada awalnya ilmu informasi sangat erat hubungannya dengan sistem, namun kini beralih ke faktor manusia dalam informasi, termasuk perilaku informasi dan ergonomi.

Abstract

People’s reading interest in Indonesia is 0.001% and is ranked third from the bottom, lagging far behind other countries that have an average percentage of 0.45% -0.62%. While for the percentage of reading interest based on province, Yogyakarta ranks third with a percentage of 91.00%. Based on these conditions, indeed, it requires a provider of information which is easy to access to increase reading interest. One of the information providers is Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM)/Community Reading Park. To find out more about this, obviously, research needs to be conducted relating to the role of TBM in supporting information dissemination among the community. The research location was Mata Aksara TBM. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Mata Aksara TBM for the community. This study used a qualitative approach through descriptive research methods, with Mata Aksara TBM, Yogyakarta as the study subject. The data collection technique used was observation and interviews. Results of the study indicated that Mata Aksara TBM acted as a place of learning and play, as a place of learning and practice, as a place of recreation and education, and as a place to preserve culture. The conclusion from this study is that the Community Reading Park is beneficial in empowering reading interest, especially among children, and has a positive impact on the community in the TBM environment in advancing the agricultural and livestock sectors of the society around the TBM.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of community reading culture in Bandung Regency West Java Province. By using the sequential exploratory methodand datacollecting through observation, interviews, focus group discussions and questionnaire, the results of the study showed that the level of community reading culture is quite high. It is seen from the results of readingcultureindicator measurement which consist of 1) Availability of facilities which is measured from the availability of school libraries and  the availability of public libraries - including the village library andbook corner. 2) Utilization of resources reading measured from the  average of  holdings of  library materials (number and type), reading materialswhich are read, the average visit to the communitylibrary, the collection usage rate, library memberships. and 3) The communityreadinghabit measured from the average duration of reading (per-times reading), the average read frequency (in weeks), and the purpose of reading.Studi ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tingkat budaya baca masyarakat di Kabupaten Bandung Provinsi Jawa Barat. Dengan menggunakan metode eksploratori berurutan dan mengumpulkan data melalui pengamatan, wawancara, diskusi kelompok terfokus, dan kuesioner, hasil-hasil dari riset ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat budaya baca masyarakat sangat tinggi. Ianya dilihat dari hasil pengukuran indikator budaya baca yang terdiri dari 1) Tersedianya fasilitas yang diukur dari ketersediaan perpustakaan sekolah dan ketersediaan perpustakaan umum - termasuk perpustakaan desa dan sudut buku. 2) penggunaan sumber-sumber membaca diukur dari rata-rata holdings bahan pustaka (jumlah dan jenis), bahan bacaan yang membaca, rata-rata kunjungan ke perpustakaan masyarakat, koleksi tingkat penggunaan, keanggotaan perpustakaan dan 3) kebiasaan membaca masyarakat diukur dari rata-rata durasi membaca (per-kali membaca), rata-rata frekuensi baca (dalam minggu), dan tujuan membaca.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out the information management at Garut Department of   Communication   and   Informaticts   as   an effort to fulfill the information needs of Garut citizens. Garut Department of Communication and   Informaticts   is   a   facility   in   managing and   providing   the government   information, region    development,    and    social    needs    in Garut regency. Qualitative is used as a method in this research as observation, interview, and literary study were the techniques for collecting the  data.  The  main  focus  on  this  research  is the transformation process which starts from data collecting, data processing, information analysis, and information dissemination and information presentation to data documentation/ data recording which describe information management conduction at Garut Department of  Communication and  Informaticts. From the research, it was discovered that data collecting process was conducted by three steps; data collecting  planning,  data  searching  from  the field directly, and indirect data search. The data processing was conducted by sortation, editing, validating, and processing using computer. Information analysis  was  conducted  based  on checking and reviewing rationally towards the information  contents.  The  result  which  was ready presented and disseminated well directly or indirectly. The data documentation/ data recording process were conducted by manually and electronically. The conclusion of this research is that the information management at Garut  Department of Communication a Informaticts has been conducted appropriately and it is resulting advantageous information for all citizens of Garut regency. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui informasi management di Garut Departemen Komunikasi dan Informaticts sebagai upaya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi dari warga Garut. Garut Departemen Komunikasi dan Informaticts adalah fasilitas dalam mengelola dan menyediakan informasi pemerintah, pembangunan daerah, dan kebutuhan sosial di Kabupaten Garut. Kualitatif dan digunakan sebagai metode dalam penelitian ini sebagai pengamatan, wawancara, dan studi sastra adalah teknik-teknik untuk mengumpulkan data. Fokus utama pada penelitian ini adalah proses transformasi yang mulai dari pengumpulan data, data processing, analisis informasi, dan penyebaran informasi dan presentasi informasi ke dokumentasi data/ rekaman data yang menerangkan komplek penghantaran manajemen informasi di Garut Departemen Komunikasi dan Informaticts. Dari research, ditemukan bahwa proses pengumpulan data dilaksanakan oleh tiga langkah; perencanaan pengumpulan data, data mencari dari lapangan secara langsung, dan pencarian data tidak langsung. Pemrosesan data yang dilakukan oleh sortation, mengedit, memvalidasi, dan memproses menggunakan komputer. Analisis informasi ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan memeriksa dan meninjau rasional terhadap isi informasi. Hasil yang telah siap mempresentasikan dan disebarluaskan dengan baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Dokumentasi data/ rekaman data dilaksanakan secara manual dengan proses dan secara elektronik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa manajemen informasi di Garut Departemen Komunikasi sebuah Informaticts telah dilakukan dengan benar dan ia merupakan hasillevel informasi bermanfaat untuk semua warga negara dari Kabupaten Garut.

Abstract

The needs of library information need to be met to complete the information needs of the library users who generally have a variety of reasons to perform activities in accordance with their purpose. Information retrieval activity is one of the main activities of the library users at the library of the Research Institute for Spices and Medicinal Herbs (RISMH) to find the source of literature through the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) facility. The purpose of the research was to determine the decision of the user in searching for information. The study was conducted from November to December 2017, with materials obtained from the library literature search 2015 -2017 results form.  The study used the quantitative descriptive method, while the observed variables were: searching users; sources of the required information; subjects needed, and the relationship of the user with the library material searched. Data were analyzed descriptively. The result of the study showed the dominant user searching for information was the researcher; source of information required was documentation, and subject/commodity needed by the user which was medicinal plants. There is a correlation between the researcher’s decision and the searching of journal literature and documentation; student decisions by searching books, journals, and documentation; as well as the general/private user’s decisions with book search and documentation. The information retrieval service at the Balittro Library needs to be improved by linking the online search database with the Balittro website so it can increase the number of online collections.

Abstract

One of the literacy movements that is currently developing is the proliferation of various communities Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) which was established by the community to provide access to information to the public in order to realize lifelong learning. Sudut Baca Soreang (SBS) as a TBM by relying on a variety of community is very active in making various activities literacy movements. This study aims to create a model of literacy movement activities undertaken by SBS with the end result was the model of a community -based literacy movement activities so that it can be one model for other TBM in making various activities literacy movements. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research using case study approach. The results showed that the shape of the literacy movement activities SBS driven by volunteers as well as spearhead in carrying out various activities that have been prepared weekly/monthly/yearly with one of the volunteers as person in charge. All activities are always evaluated regularly. This model can move literacy activities, promotional activities and drives the field of literacy advocacy activities. The manager of SBS (founders, trustees and volunteers) to make a wide range of activities aimed at local communities, which involves internal SBS as well as external parties SBS from local communities, students and community leaders and other strategic partners as a driver of literacy programming that has been designed by the manager of SBS, All activities that have been implemented are supported by promotional efforts through social media such as facebook as a primary medium.Salah satu gerakan literasi yang saat ini berkembang adalah menjamurnya berbagai komunitas Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) yang didirikan oleh masyarakat untuk memberikan akses informasi kepada masyarakat guna mewujudkan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat. Sudut Baca Soreang (SBS) sebagai sebuah TBM dengan mengandalkan berbagai komunitas masyarakat sangat aktif dalam membuat berbagai kegiatan gerakan literasi. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membuat model aktivitas gerakan literasi yang dilakukan oleh SBS dengan hasil akhirnya adalah adanya model aktivitas gerakan literasi berbasis komunitas sehingga dapat menjadi salah satu percontohan bagi TBM lainnya dalam membuat berbagai kegiatan gerakan literasi. Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk aktivitas gerakan literasi SBS dimotori oleh relawan serta menjadi ujung tombak dalam melaksanakan berbagai kegiatan yang telah disusun setiap minggu/bulan/tahunan dengan salah seorang sukarelawan sebagai penanggungjawabnya. Seluruh aktivitas tersebut selalu dilakukan evaluasi secara rutin dan dilakukan evaluasi tahunan pula. Model ini dapat menggerakkan aktivitas literasi, promosi kegiatan dan menjadi penggerak kegiatan advokasi bidang literasi. Para pengelola SBS (pendiri, pengurus dan relawan) membuat berbagai aktivitas yang ditujukan untuk masyarakat sekitar yang melibatkan pihak internal SBS maupun pihak ekternal SBS mulai dari masyarakat sekitar, pelajar ataupun tokoh masyarakat dan mitra strategis lainnya sebagai penggerak kegiatan literasi yang telah dirancang oleh pengelola SBS. Seluruh aktivitas yang telah dilaksanakan didukung oleh upaya promosi melalui media sosial berupa facebook sebagai media utama.

Abstract

The existence of school libraries can provide benefits for students to search for the information needed, as a place to work on their tasks, looking for entertaining reading materials or just to fill their spare time while on a break. The school library becomes to foster students reading interest if the collection is adapted to the students' needs. The SMA 3 Depok Library is a school library that has a library collection from fiction and non-fiction. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the availability of library collections which included the relevance and completeness of collections, and the collection updates in order to foster students’ interest in reading. The research method used the quantitative method through descriptive survey conducted on students of class XI SMA 3 Depok, with a population of 408 students. The sampling technique used in this study was simple random sampling with a total sample of 81 students. Data were obtained through a questionnaire, observation, interview, and literature study. The result of this research indicated, the library collection was quite relevant, the collection of books fulfilled the completeness of the collection, however the non-book collection did not exist yet; moreover, the library collection was in accordance with the latest development of knowledge. So, based on the three indicators previously mentioned, SMA 3 Depok students’ reading interest has developed which is shown by the high frequency of reading interest. The library in 3 SMA in Depok should be provided with adequate facilities to support the use of library collections.

Abstract

This study aimed to measure how far the library service quality in Academic Library using LibQual+™ instrument, the measurement model of service quality based on perceptions and expectations of the three dimension consist Affect of Services (the attitude and the ability of library staff on serving students), Information Control (quality and availability of the information source in library), Library as Place (library as place and surrounding). Respondents were ask to rate the three criteria, namely the minimum expectations, desired expec- tations, and perceived. Service quality is a gap between the perceptions (perceived) with the minimum or desired expectations. Respondents were asked to assess the scale of 1 – 9, the lowest value is 1 and the highest is 9. Through a questionnaire that has been distributed, have generally showed that users feel satisfaction with the services that have been provided by the P2I2 FEB Unpad library's.­­­­­­­Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur seberapa jauh kualitas layanan perpustakaan di Perpustakaan Akademik meng- gunakan instrumen LibQual+™, model pengu- kuran kualitas pelayanan ini berdasarkan persepsi dan harapan tiga dimensi yang terdiri dari Pengaruh Layanan (sikap dan kemampuan staf perpustakaan pada melayani siswa), Pengendalian informasi (kualitas dan ketersediaan sumber informasi di perpustakaan), Perpustakaan sebagai sebuah tempat (perpustakaan sebagai tempat dan sekitarnya). Responden meminta untuk menilai tiga kriteria, yaitu harapan minium, harapan yang diinginkan, dan dirasakan. Kualitas pelayanan merupakan kesenjangan antara persepsi (di- rasakan) dengan minimum atau harapan yang diinginkan. Responden diminta untuk menilai skala 1-9, nilai terendah adalah 1 dan tertinggi adalah 9. Melalui kuesioner yang telah didis- tribusikan, umumnya menunjukkan bahwa peng- guna merasakan kepuasan dengan layanan yang telah disediakan oleh P2I2 Februari Unpad perpustakaan.

Abstract

In this study, the authors wanted to determine and analyze the students' perceptions about the quality of service in the reference section UPT Padjadjaran, namely: Tengible element 'Physical', Realibility 'reliability', Responsive 'Response', Assurance 'Guarantee', and Empathy 'attention.' Meanwhile, the method used is exploratory, descriptive, and qualitative. The results showed that the hypothesis of the authors about the quality of service at the Library Unit Padjadjaran reference services there are still weaknesses evident. There are two drawbacks perceived by respondents as the visitors, namely: less complete collection and not humourist librarians in service to the visitors. It is expected to be input for the librarians at Padjadjaran University Library Unit that needs to be improved so that the quality of services librarians increased interest in reading them because they feel "comfortable" being in this reference section.Dalam penelitian ini, penulis ingin mengetahui dan menganalisis persepsi mahasiswa tentang kualitas pelayanan di bagian referensi UPT Unpad, yaitu: unsur Tengible  ‘Fisik’, Realibility ‘Kehandalan’, Responsive ‘Daya Tanggap’, Assurance ‘Jaminan’, dan Emphaty ‘Perhatian.’ Adapun, metode yang digunakan adalah eksploratif, deskriptif, dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penulis tentang kualitas pelayanan di bagian pelayanan referensi UPT Perpustakaan Unpad masih terdapat kelemahan terbukti. Ada dua kelemahan yang dipersepsikan oleh responden sebagai pemustaka, yaitu: kekuranglengkapan koleksi dan kekuranghumoran pustakawan dalam pelayanan terhadap pemustaka. Hal ini diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi para pustakawan di UPT Perpustakaan Unpad  bahwa perlu ditingkatkan kualitas pelayanan para pustakawan sehingga minat baca mereka meningkat karena merasa “nyaman” berada di bagian referensi ini.
