Abstract

The healthcare reality is composed of  biomedical,  naturalistic, and  personalistic systems. Although the three healthcare systems go separately, to some extent they are overlapped. This study aims to explore alternative healing practices in Indonesia based on the personalistic system. The method used is a case study. Data was collected in several big cities (Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Palembang, Batam and Makassar) in Indonesia through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with stakeholders of healthcare programs on media, interviews with physicians, alternative therapists and patients, observation of alternative therapies, and media content analysis. The results indicate that the healthcare practices based on the personalistic system is widespread throughout Indonesia, including religious treatment (often called ruqyah) involving religious chants and prayers. With some using herbal medicine, a lot of alternative therapies based on the personalistic system have been promoted through word of mouth (interpersonal communication) by common people as patients as well as through the electronic media (especially television), and print media (especially newspapers) in many areas in the country.

Abstract

Wattpad is a community website that allows people to find stories from authors of various genres. This study aims to determine the pattern of fiction publishing in the Wattpad online community. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research data were obtained through three (3) informants who were productive fiction writers on Wattpad. The results show that the writers on Wattpad get ideas from an open-minded/objective view of many things, the environment, and experiences that are supported by information. The process of publishing starts from creating an account then filling in the details of the story, till publishing it. There are two types of publishing processes, namely the author submits the manuscript to the publisher or publisher who contacts the author. Apart from being published, some have been made into cinema films. This research concludes that writers on Wattpad can get story ideas from anywhere and then develop them into stories, while the publication process on Wattpad has no special rules because everything is based on the author and the existence of publications from Wattpad to other media such as a publishing and being made into cinema films.

Abstract

Humor can be used to convey messages, one of which is about COVID-19. Using humor in conveying messages of COVID-19 is done by one of the humor writers in Bandung, Taufik Faturohman, through his Instagram account @t_faturohman. Messages posted on the account are writes in Sundanese. The choice of Sundanese language and humor in conveying messages is conducted to make messages easier to receive, and the receivers feel entertained. In addition, the use of Sundanese language remains sustainable. This study analyses messages related to COVID-19 on the @t_faturohman Instagram account, using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through text observation and library source enrichment. The object of his research is posts related to COVID-19. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman analysis techniques. The results show that behind the humorous style conveyed there is an informative and educational meaning in the messages on the @t_faturohman account related to COVID-19

Abstract

The purpose of doing this research is to know the information necessity of teenager’s lifestyle about fashion in 21 state junior high school of Bekasi. This research was doing on December 2013 until March 2014. This research using qualitative method to explore and understand the sense of information necessity of teenager’s lifestyle about fashion. This research process was doing from the process of information necessity  of  teenager’s  observe from an individual internal factor until the fulfillment necessity efforts about to information teenager’s lifestyle observation from individual external factor aggregation technique of data is using observation interview, and research study. The result from the research know about the student has followed the information about fashion development   by   internet,   they   can fulfill necessity them information. The conclusion from this research there are: 1. generally the student automatically looked for information whatever their necessity to support in lifestyle; 2. generally they filtered the appropriate information with culture where they are from; 3. Motive the student in fulfill information necessity usually   they   want   to   know from internet or other media; 4. Connection of teenager’s and other people around them also influence the teenager’s and other people around them also influence the teenager’s in fulfill the  necessity  of  their information.Tujuan melakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kebutuhan informasi gaya hidup remaja tentang fashion di SMP Negeri 21 Bekasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Desember 2013 sampai Maret 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menggali dan memahami arti kebutuhan informasi gaya hidup remaja tentang fashion. Proses penelitian ini dilakukan melalui proses kebutuhan informasi dari mengamati remaja berdasarkan faktor internal individu sampai upaya pemenuhan kebutuhan akan observasi gaya hidup informasi remaja dari teknik agregasi faktor eksternal individu menggunakan wawancara observasi, dan studi penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian mengetahui siswa telah mengikuti informasi tentang perkembangan fashion dari internet, itu dapat memenuhi kebutuhan informasi mereka. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu: 1. umumnya siswa secara otomatis mencari informasi apapun kebutuhan mereka untuk mendukung gaya hidup; 2. umumnya mereka menyaring informasi yang sesuai dengan budaya darimana mereka berasal; 3. biasanya motif siswa memenuhi kebutuhan informasi mereka ingin tahu dari internet atau media lainnya; 4. Keterkaitan remaja dan orang-orang lain di sekitar mereka juga mempengaruhi memenuhi kebutuhan informasi mereka.

Abstract

Character education implementation must be integrated with various life activities. Storytelling activities can be a medium for character education, both at school and outside school. This is in line with the benefits of storytelling, namely to sharpen the imagination and thought, instill values and ethics, and improve vocabulary.  This study aimed to find out the steps of storytelling as a character learning strategy. The research method used was a qualitative case study approach. The collecting data process was through interviews, discussions, observations, and literature studies. Validity and reliability tests were through the process of data triangulation and source triangulation. Consideration of choosing this method was the research data nature, which could maintain the object integrity. This means that data relating to research was comprehended as an integrated whole. Descriptive data analysis was through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. Data sources in the study amounted to 7 people, consisting of community and religious leaders (3 people), manager of the ‘Saung Budaya Tatarkarang’ community reading park (2 people), and the education office (2 people). The results showed that storytelling activities at ‘Saung Budaya Tatarkarang’ were able to build children's character at the stages of socialization and internalization. This occurred due to the implementation of storytelling activities through the stages of setting goals and theme of the story, the form of storytelling, materials and tools, the design steps of storytelling activities, and the design of storytelling activities assessment. These five steps are carried out in stages in each event.

Abstract

In this study researchers are interested to examine how the behavior of information among the traditional gold mining or "gurandil" in the know and perform a search for information about the new gold mining location area that is done by the group pengalian sedan other gold. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with fenomenologi approach. In the use of the channel information that is done by the gold mining Districts Cineam Tasikmalaya District to obtain information about the development of gold digging other groups they use the channel in the form of media phone or HP to ask the condition and development of other gold digging groups either do pengalian saloon in other areas or on the new mining come from other areas. In addition, the probing this gold also usually using traditional channels, means the pengali gold that is located in the area of the Sub-district Cineam venom orally ask probing the gold that chance arrived or on the family/kin about the development of gold digging in other areas.Dalam penelitian ini peneliti tertarik untuk mengkaji bagaimana perilaku informasi di kalangan para penggali emas tradisional atau “gurandil” dalam mengetahui dan melakukan pencarian informasi mengenai daerah lokasi penggali emas baru yang sedan dilakukan oleh kelompok pengalian emas lainnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Dalam penggunaan saluran informasi yang dilakukan para penggali emas di Wilayah Kecamatan Cineam Kabupaten Tasikmalaya dalam memperoleh informasi tentang perkembangan penggalian emas kelompok lainnya mereka menggunakan saluran yang berupa media telepon atau HP untuk menanyakan kondisi dan perkembangan kelompok penggalian emas lainnya baik yang sedan melakukan pengalian di daerah lain atau pada para penggali yang baru datang dari daerah lain. Selain itu, para penggali emas ini juga biasanya mengunakan saluran secara tradisional, artinya para pengali emas yang sedang berada di wilayah Kecamatan Cineam bisanya secara lisan menanyakan kepada para penggali emas yang kebetulan baru datang atau pada keluarga/kerabatnya mengenai perkembangan penggalian emas di daerah lainnya.

Abstract

This study discusses the users attitudes of the availability of services in Reading Lights. This study was conducted to determine how the visitor attitudes towards availability of services in Reading lights. The research method used is quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection methods used in this study are questionnaires, interviews, observation, and literature study. The population in this study are the visitors Reading Lights by taking a sample of 50 respondents. The results obtained show that the attitude of the visitors are comprised of aspects of knowledge (cognitive) visitors agreed to know the service availability in Reading Lights, Impression (affective) visitors agreed include aspects of respondents' feelings agreed include aspects of respondents' feelings about the provision of foreign language collection, behavior (conative) visitors tend to always want to come to Reading Lights. The conclusion of this study is Cognitive Aspects (Knowledge) visitors to the availability of services and Coffee Corner Reading Lights which includes knowledge about the services available in the Reading Lights, collections and facilities support(favorable), Aspects of Affective (feeling) of visitors to the availability of services Reading Light and Coffee Corner, which includes a sense of excitement/love to the services available in the Reading Lights, collections and facilities in general support (favorable), Aspect Conative (Behavior) of visitors to the availability of the service Light Reading and Coffee Corner, which includes the respondent wishes to come, read/buy a book, use the reading room, use the facilities and tell other people about Reading Lights that generally supports (favorable).This is evident from the questionnaire in the results research to be a reference to improve the Reading Lights service.Penelitian ini membahas sikap pengunjung terhadap ketersediaan layanan di Reading Lights. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana sikap pengunjung terhadap ketersediaan layanan di Reading Lights. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode kuantitatif melalui pendekatan deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan datan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner, wawancara, observasi dan studi literatur. Populasi dalam penelitian ini ialah pengunjung Reading Lights, yang diambil sampel 50 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap pengunjung terdiri dari aspek pengetahuan pengunjung (kognitif) setuju untuk mengetahui ketersediaan layanan di Reading Lights, perasaan pengunjung (afektif) meliputi aspek perasaan responden tentang ketersediaan layanan koleksi bahasa asing, prilaku pengunjung (konatif) cenderung selalu ingin datang ke Reading Lights. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ialah aspek pengetahuan pengunjung (kognitif) dalam sikap ketersediaan layanan dan Coffee Corner Reading Lights meliputi pengetahuan mengenai layanan yang tersedia di Reading Lights, koleksi dan fasilitas pendukung (favorable), aspek perasaan pengunjung (afektif) mengenai ketersediaan layanan Reading Lights dan Coffee Corner meliputi perasaan senang/cinta kepada layanan yang tersedia di Reading Lights, koleksi dan fasilitas pendukung (favorable). Aspek prilaku pengunjung (konatif) mengenai ketersediaan layanan Reading Lights dan Coffee Corner, mencakup responden ingin datang, membaca/membeli buku, menggunakan ruang baca, menggunakan fasilitas dan memberitahu orang lain tentang Reading Lights yang umumnya mendukung (favorabel). Hal ini terlihat dari hasil kuesioner penelitian yang diharapakan menjadi acuan untuk meningkatkan layanan di Reading Lights.

Abstract

People must know how identify and search for credible health information. This study aimed to determine how information literacy activities prevented the spread of health information hoaxes on social media. This study used a qualitative approach and case study research methods. The collect research data through observation, interviews with 15 interviewees, and literature study techniques. The study results found that people obtained health information literacy by utilizing social media that is used daily. First, people recognized when they needed information, meaning they already understood when to search for information and knew what information to seek. Second, people can find information was performed in various ways, such as choosing a mass media portal that was easy to use, searching for specific information by including keywords or hashtags. Third, people evaluate the information found by knowing who made the information. Who disseminates the information? Are social media accounts trustworthy? Does the skill match the required information? Fourth, people use the obtained information effectively. People only chose the information that was suitable for what they felt and needed. Conclusion this research is people that who use social media must have information literacy expertise in finding health information so that avoid hoax information widely circulating today.

Abstract

The existence of school libraries can provide benefits for students to search for the information needed, as a place to work on their tasks, looking for entertaining reading materials or just to fill their spare time while on a break. The school library becomes to foster students reading interest if the collection is adapted to the students' needs. The SMA 3 Depok Library is a school library that has a library collection from fiction and non-fiction. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the availability of library collections which included the relevance and completeness of collections, and the collection updates in order to foster students’ interest in reading. The research method used the quantitative method through descriptive survey conducted on students of class XI SMA 3 Depok, with a population of 408 students. The sampling technique used in this study was simple random sampling with a total sample of 81 students. Data were obtained through a questionnaire, observation, interview, and literature study. The result of this research indicated, the library collection was quite relevant, the collection of books fulfilled the completeness of the collection, however the non-book collection did not exist yet; moreover, the library collection was in accordance with the latest development of knowledge. So, based on the three indicators previously mentioned, SMA 3 Depok students’ reading interest has developed which is shown by the high frequency of reading interest. The library in 3 SMA in Depok should be provided with adequate facilities to support the use of library collections.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendiskusikan tentang hubungan kredibilitas pustakawan dengan loyalitas pemustaka pada perpustakaan UNISBA. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori kredibilitas sumber dari Hovland, Janis, dan Kelly (1993). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana hubungan yang terjadi antara aspek kredibilitas pustakawan yaitu keahlian, keterpercayaan, dan daya tarik dengan loyalitas pemustaka. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah anggota perpustakan dengan pengambilan sampling menggunakan teknik sampling kuota. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasional dengan teknik analasis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji pearson product moment. Teknik pengumpulan datanya berupa kuesioner, observasi, wawancara dan studi kepustakaan. Kesimpulannya adalah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kredibilitas pustakawan dengan loyalitas pemustaka. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa dengan kredibilitas yang dimiliki oleh pustakawan akan mendorong loyalitas pemustaka untuk datang kembali ke perpustakaan karena merasa dilayani dengan baik oleh pustakawan. Untuk meningkatkan pelayanan prima yang akan mendorong loyalitas pemustaka lebih tinggi lagi disarankan menambah keahlian pustakawan dengan cara mengikuti pelatihan pada bidang perpustakaan, bahasa maupun teknologi.
