Abstract

Digital developments, expected to contribute to efficiency and ease in the development process, are often used reversely. Specific communities also use digital technology as a means of communication and information in carrying out practices that violate norms and laws. In Aceh Province, which incidentally is the implementation area of Islamic Shari'at, the use of digital is used in practices that violate the Qanun (regional regulation) of Islamic Shari'at. Prostitution, one of the criminal cases of Islamic Sharia, was found that all perpetrators revealed that they carried out these 'unlawful' transactions through online media. This study aims to explain the driving factors for prostitution behavior and explain the government's collaborative efforts in dealing with online prostitution in Aceh. This study uses a qualitative approach that descriptively describes the primary and secondary data. Preliminary data were obtained through interviews and observation techniques, while secondary data was obtained through document review. Data analysis was passed through classification, reduction, and conclusion. The study results show that the driving factor for the dominant prostitution behavior is motivated by personal desires. In addition, it is also caused by environmental and lifestyle factors, the economy, family problems, as well as experiences of sexual harassment, and the loss of virginity. The government's collaborative efforts in dealing with online prostitution are carried out by controlling prostitution. The government and other elements of society conduct routine raids and patrols and hold outreach to the community down to the community level.

Abstract

The use of the internet in the current government environment continues to grow. The increasingly complex use of the internet can cause vulnerabilities to cyber attacks in information security, which include aspects of confidentiality, integrity, and service availability, so that it can disrupt the performance of public service delivery. The systematic literature review research method was carried out because of the large amount of information and data regarding cyber security strategies. This can be traced through various information in books, scientific journals, newspapers, magazines, as well as sources of information from web pages/websites via the internet. This method is important in analyzing the concept of cyber security strategy in Indonesia. The obstacles that the government has are expired devices that are still used on local government networks, which may not have the latest updates, security devices such as antiviruses have expired, human resources have not fully supported this cybersecurity. Indonesia needs policies that regulate all elements related to cyber security. This infrastructure standard must comply with international standards for dealing with cyber warfare.

Abstract

The success of a region in improving its economy can be measured from the growth of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) from various existing sectors. This Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth occurs if the area has a leading sector or a base sector whose growth rate is relatively fast and has strong competitiveness as well as a non-base sector that has the opportunity to become a base sector if the local government is able to condition the existing opportunities into good results. optimal. This study uses secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Riau Province in the form of time data before covid-19 and after covid-19 in 2019 and 2021. This research was conducted to identify the basic and non-base sectors in the economic structure of Dumai City in in 2019 and 2021 using the LQ (location quotient) analysis method, the Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) method. 12 leading sectors, 3 potential sectors, 1 developing sector and 1 lagging sector, with the base sector having the highest average SLQ index value ≥ 1 and the sector which is a non-base sector with an index value < 1.it can be concluded that the emergence of covid-19 in the city of Dumai did not change the basic sector to non-base based on the SLQ and DLQ analysis using the calculation of the PDRB of the city of Dumai in 2019 and 2020.

Abstract

The Development Planning Conference is a means for government at all levels to gather development aspirations in all areas of community life. However, unfortunately, so far Musrenbang activities at all levels still face low participation from women's groups, in fact their participation tends to be considered only symbolic. As a consequence, many planned programs are gender biased, where discussions are dominated by infrastructure and economic development plans. Based on this, the author is interested in comparing the level of women's participation in the Village Development Planning Conference (Musrenbangdes) in Gampong Beurawe and Gampong Jawa which have quite different levels of development to see the level of women's participation in Musrenbangdes in the two gampongs. Apart from that, we will see what factors influence high or low participation in the two gampongs. This research uses a comparative analysis method with a qualitative approach and data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation obtained from the two variables studied. The results of this research show that the level of women's participation in Gampong Beurawe is better than the level of women's participation in Gampong Jawa in the Musrenbangdes in both gampongs. The factors that influence high and low levels of participation are educational, cultural and political factors.

Abstract

The article examines the impact of local governance on Islam and politics in Indonesia, examining how decentralization of power has allowed local politicians to collaborate with Islamic organizations and parties to affect local policy. Local officials have been accused of Islamization, which entails promoting Islamic ideals and practices through governmental policy. The article examines the issue of mixing religion and politics, stressing that some Indonesians feel Islam should be crucial in the country's political landscape. In contrast, others believe religion and politics should be kept separate. After reviewing the many perspectives on Islam and politics in Indonesia, the article finishes by underlining the need for a more harmonious interaction between these two sectors. It emphasizes the existence of inter-religious conflicts in Indonesia, some of which have been fuelled by politicians' exploitation of sectarianism to further their interests. As a result, the paper suggests that politicians and policymakers adopt a more inclusive approach that respects religious diversity and encourages communication among different religious groups. This essay proposes that education and the media can promote inter-religious harmony and tolerance, resulting in a more peaceful and prosperous society.

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of communication and information sharing worldwide, including Nigeria. However, despite its benefits, social media platforms also pose risks, with cyberbullying emerging as a prevalent and concerning issue. This article reviews incidence, forms, consequences, and approaches to promoting safer online environments in Nigeria. Using a qualitative research design, a comprehensive literature review and thematic analysis of secondary sources were conducted. The findings revealed that cyberbullying is prevalent in Nigeria and exists in various forms such as outing, trickery, trolling, and verbal and visual/sexual cyberbullying. Meanwhile, the phenomenon has negative emotional and psychological consequences. The review highlights the lack of awareness and understanding of cyberbullying among stakeholders, leading to the underestimation and underreporting of incidents. This emphasizes the need for specific policies and comprehensive preventive measures. While the current legislation addresses certain aspects of cyberbullying, a dedicated policy on cyberbullying management is lacking. To promote safer online environments, this study suggests involving various stakeholders and developing tailored prevention and intervention strategies. This includes educating students and staff on cyberbullying, implementing reporting mechanisms, and providing support systems. Further research is needed to explore the role of social media platforms in cyberbullying experiences, involvement of technology companies and stakeholders, and effective strategies for prevention and intervention.

Abstract

The mass media has considerable influence in this age of democracy. Besides providing information, political elites are often using the media as strategic tools to alter the political landscape through the use of political imagery and rhetoric. This research employs experimental quantitative methodology to examine the impact of media, specifically the film Wag the Dog, on the behavior of political science students. By adopting three indicators drawn from political psychology principles—emotions, political beliefs, and motivations for political behavior—we identified that gender and scientific background influenced the public's reaction to the media's construction of conditions. Three results were obtained from this experimental investigation: 1) The Wag the Dog film did not have a discernible impact on the emotional dimension of students; 2) its influence on the political dimension of belief was not significant; 3) its effect on the dimension of political motives of behavior was extremely dominant; and 4) variations in responses to the three dimensions were influenced by gender disparities.
