Abstract

Abstract: This study seeks to understand the underlying meaning of human behavior with complex social settings and interactions. This character is attuned to the complexity of human nature and therefore cannot be explained through preconstructed epistmological assumptions and predictions. As part of the social science tradition, research in Arabic Language Education also leads to this goal. The problems of the Arabic teaching process can be interpreted as the world of life that is lived by teachers and students and becomes the basis for communication actions amongst them. Based on the phenomenological perspective, the act of communication is basically a process of sharing personal experiences. This paper describes phenomenology as a philosophical thought which then shifts into an epistemological mode to construct objective knowledge that is specifically applied in the case of teaching Arabic. Keywords: phenomena, intentionality, teaching Arabic

Abstract

Abstract: This research explores teachers’ views on school climate, related to teacher’s age, gender, and teaching experience for Madrasah Tsnawiyah teachers. Research is carried out to realize the quality of Islamic education. The 370 teachers were given a school climate perception scale adapted from the Comprehensive School Climate Inventory (NSCC) developed by Cohen through Google Form. The scale includes four aspects: safety, teaching and learning, relationships, and the environment, with a Cronbach’s Alpha reliability value of 0.700. From the data collection results, it was found that the age and length of the teacher’s teaching were significantly related to the teacher’s view of the school climate. Teachers who have long teaching experience have a more positive perception than teachers who have little teaching experience. Likewise, the teacher’s age shows that older teachers give a better view of the school climate than younger teachers. On the other hand, gender is not significantly related, meaning that male and female teachers have the same view of the school climate. Keywords: school climate, age, gender, teaching experience

Abstract

Abstract: This present study discusses the boarding school-based regeneration in Persatuan Islam (PERSIS) organization formulated by KH. Endang Abdurrahman during the period of 1954-1983. Historical approach is employed in this study with qualitative descriptive model. It reveals that cadre management is culturally performed, where direct and personal relationship between teacher and students are formed. In its development, PERSIS regeneration is more organized through educational institution: Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) owned by PERSIS and courses for Muballigh or preacher. Historically, this reinforcement gained its momentum when PERSIS was led by KH. E. Abdurrahman from 1962 to1983.The system developed by Abdulrahman was yet exclusive and unintegrated with the national education system. Through such system, PERSIS was able to produce many religious scholars (muballigh and ustadz). Keywords: PERSIS, cadres management, PERSIS Pesantren, K.H.E. Abdurrahman

Abstract

Abstract: The increasing influence of Islam in the archipelago was marked by the establishment of a number of sultanates. Based on the fact of the significant existence of the sultanate it is may indicate as evidence of political power. In the footsteps of Islam Nusantara, political power was achieved after great successes in building economic power, education, cultural-intellectual networks. Therefore, the stage of the traces of Islam Nusantara is not an event that is considered strange. Until the 17th century AD, there were even a number of sultanates on the islands of Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and Nusa Tenggara. The spread of the existence of a number of these sultanates in a relay as evidence of the results of the exemplary performances of a number of sultanates that had existed before. The approach used in this paper is a historical approach by utilizing study materials from historical literature. In compiling historical facts, it is guided by a logical framework arrangement according to chronological order. The conclusion is that, thanks to the wealth and social forces empowered by Muslim communities in various places in the archipelago, they can play political roles in political entities as evidenced by the birth of a number of Sultanates. This historical fact, at least strengthens Anthony Reid's theory, that the maritime economy is an indicator of maritime trade that unites trade routes with the formation of port cities as international trade routes. Keywords: empowerment, trade, maritime, Islamic Sultanate in the archipelago
