Abstract

Heat stress due to high ambient temperature results in uncomfortable livestock and unfavorable physiological changes. This condition causes livestock to not be able to maintain the balance of thermal energy, water, hormonal, mineral and feed consumption and consumption of dry matter is reduced so that digestibility of dry matter and organic matter also decreases. The purpose of this study was to determine the digestibility of dry matter and organic material of male goats in the shed without shade and with shade. The materials used in this study were 1 year old male goat, animal feed in the form of gamal leaves (Gliricidia sepium) and elephant grass, anthelmintic levamison, concentrated feed consisting of yellow corn flour, rice bran, soybean meal. and pollard.Variables observed included dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility. The research design used was placing 14 goat nuts allocated in 2 places, 7 of which were placed in a shed with 7 shelters and placed in a shed without a shade. Then the research data were analyzed using the t test (t-student).The results of this study are the digestibility of dry matter and organic material of male goat without shade and with no significant shade (P> 0.05) Keywords: Goat Male, Dry material digestibility, Organic material digestibility

Abstract

Upaya dalam meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman tomat adalah melalui pemupukan. Pemupukan dapat menambah unsur-unsur atau zat makanan yang diperlukan tanah secara langsung atau tidak langsung. Kombinasi pemupukan antara pupuk organik dan anorganik dapat meningkatkan produksi tanaman. Pemanfaatan Bio-slurry selain membantu perbaikan sifat fisik dan kimia tanah. Penggunaan pupuk anorganik memberikan dampak yang nyata yaitu dapat menyediakan unsur hara yang banyak dan langsung diserap oleh tumbuhan dalam waktu yang relatif singkat. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan sehingga diperoleh 24 unit percobaan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan kombinasi terbaik pupuk bio-slurry padat dan pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman Tomat (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi bio-slurry + NPK memberikan pengaruh terhadap semua variable pengamatan pertumbuhan tanaman tomat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah yang memberikan hasil terbaik adalah perlakuan Bio-slurry 20 t.ha-1 + Pupuk NPK 200 kg ha-1Kata Kunci : Tanaman Tomat, Bio-Slurry, NPK

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the performance of agricultural extension agent, to analyze the effect of the agent’s individual and psychological factors on its performance in undertaking its main duty and to find an empowerment model to improve the performance of agricultural extension agent (thereafter called the agent). The data analysis in this research was conducted using a multiple regression analysis. The result of research showed that the performance of agricultural extension agent belonged to high category (77.78%). Individual and   psychological factors of the agent simultaneously affected the performance of it with f statistic value of 1355. The factors affecting positively and significantly the agent’s performance level were: individual factor in the form of experience and psychological factor consisting of the agent’s perception on the agricultural extension profession, attitude and motivation.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect and the best concentration of POC from cow feces and some of plant species on the growth and yield of organically cultivated shallots. The study was conducted from October 2018 to January 2019 in the Gardens of the Rinbesihat Applied Sciences Training Center, West Tasifeto District, Belu Regency. The design used a randomized block design (RBD) with seven treatments and four replications. The treatment were without POC; 50 ml/l POC concentration; 100 ml/l; 150 ml/l; 200 ml/l; 250 ml/l; and 300 ml/l. The dosage of POC application is 200 ml/plant given on a week after plant until a week before harvest (53 day after plant) with seven days interval of giving. The data obtained were analyzed for data variance and if there was a real effect then it was continued with the 5% of BNJ Test. The parameters observed were: plant height (cm), number of leaves, number of tillers per plant, number of tubers per plant, and fresh weight of tubers per plant (g). The results obtained were: POC given from cow feces and several types of plants had a significant effect on plant height on 2, 4, 5 week after plant, number of leaves on 2 week after plant, and the number of shallots tillers. POC given from cow dung and several types of plants with 50 ml / liter of water gave the highest growth and yield compared to other treatments, this was seen in 5 weeks after plant height which was 37.13 cm, leaf number of 5 weeks after plant for 30.56 strands, number of tillers was 2.69, and fresh weight shallot bulb of 65.76 grams. Keywords: POC, cow feces, legume, banana stem, shallot.

Abstract

In Jorong Podang Rontang Nagari Koto Tuo, Limapuluh Regency, West Sumatra City, the number of underprivileged households is relatively high, 72 households. 98% of the members of the women farmer groups are cultivating farmers with 0.1-0.2 ha of arable land so that they are categorized as small farmers. The behavior of household waste management by women farmer groups is generally not sustainable because they dispose of it behind the house and allow it to rot. The method used is a survey method. Qualitative data and information were analyzed using qualitative analysis methods through a process of coding, categorization, interpretation, meaning, and abstraction. Then the data will be analyzed with the SPSS program. Based on the analysis results obtained by the equation: Y = 12,860 + 0.021X1 - 0.47X2 - 0.78X3. The equation shows that there is a positive relationship between the empowerment of women peasants and the knowledge of women peasants. In contrast, the motivation of women farmers, local wisdom and the empowerment of women farmers has a negative relationship. Positive and negative influences between independent variables (knowledge of women farmers, motivation of women farmers and local wisdom) and dependent variables (empowerment of women farmers) are not necessarily interpreted mathematically, but interpretation must be within the framework of empowerment as a reflection of women's emancipation, collective community participation in carrying out development, as well as community involvement (women) in participating in carrying out development. The influence of these independent factors is a leverage for women's empowerment to be independent in sustainable waste management. Keywords: Waste, Empowerment, Women Farmers, Nagari, Local Wisdom

Abstract

This research is aimed to comprehend the agroforestry land use pattern dynamics and composer components of Mutis Timau protected forest, and was held at Fatukoto and Ius Mollo village of Mollo Utara Subdistrict of Timor Tengah Selatan Regency of East Nusa Tenggara Province in January until April 2014. The primary data of the pattern was collected through observation and analyzed by grouping while the composer components through direct measurements and analyzed by calculation of volume, Shannon-Wiener biodiversity index, and stand projection with Sexy-fs tool. The stand kind and age secondary data were from the Forestry Agency of TTS Regency. The pattern dinamics were agrosilvopastural utilization at the young stand and livestock grazing silvopastural at the medium and old age stand. Young stand was combined with greenery food plants, while medium with graze and fruit crops plants, and the old one without combination practice. The composer components consisted of 20 kind and total 16,128 species and 1,709.12 m3of volume, which comprised with 11,976 species and 12 m3wooden vegetation of the young, medium 3,963 and 380,16 m3, and the old 189 species and 1316,96 m3.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the application level of paddy rice cultivation technology in East Kupang Sub-district. The study was conducted at the Agricultural, Fisheries and Forestry Counseling Agency (BP4K), East Kupang District.The results showed that: The level of application of paddy cultivation technology in East Kupang District was in the High category with a value of 58.34%, an Achievement Score of 32.90 and a percentage of achievement of 82.29%. Keywords: Application, Technology, Paddy Rice

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui karakteristik struktur dan komposisi vegetasi berdasarkan indeks nilai penting, keanekaragaman jenis, kemerataan dan kekayaan jenis pada areal distribusi burung Philemon inornatus di lanskap Baumata. Analisis vegetasi menggunakan metode garis berpetak, intensitas sampling 1,9%. Petak ukur diletakkan pada tiap tipe tutupan lahan dalam tiap grid 200 x 500 m2. Karakteristik struktur dan komposisi vegetasi pada areal distribusi burung Cikukua Timor di lanskap Baumata dicirikan oleh vegetasi pohon Cassia siamea, Tectona grandis untuk tingkat tiang dan pancang, dan semai oleh Chromolaena odorata. Cassia siamea hanya berfungsi sebagai sumber pakan sedangkan Tectona grandis selain sebagai sumber pakan juga untuk tempat istirahat/tidur dan tempat bersarang. Tingkat keanekaragaman jenis (2,45-2,80) dan kekayaan jenis (3,55-5,68) vegetasi tergolong sedang, kemerataan jenis tersebar hampir merata pada seluruh lanskap penelitian dengan kelimpahan sama.  Key Words:  Indeks Nilai Penting, keanekaragaman, kekayaan, kemerataan, Jenis

Abstract

The effectiveness of Liquid Organic Fertilizer, Fermented from Cow’s Rumen, effected to onion’s Production. The objectives of this research were to determine: (1) an effectiveness of liquid organic fertilizer; (2) a dosage of liquid organic fertilizer; and (3) an efficiency of the application of liquid organic fertilizer fermented from cow rumen to increase onion’s harvest. This research used a Randomized Group Design with Factorial Pattern using 2 factors. Firstly, a dosage of liquid organic fertilizer fermented from cow rumen (P) that is using some levels:  0, 8, 16, 24, and 32 milliliter/liter clean water. Secondly, the way of fertilizer application (A): by showering to soil media, and by spraying to all of the onion leaves. Analyses of the onion components were made for onions diametric and the weight of dry and wet union. Analyses were made also for the fertilizer nutrition and for the nutrient-rich soil before and after onions were planted. All analyses were performed in duplicate and the data were calculated based on multivariate analyses and were continued to Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5%.The result showed that liquid organic fertilizer fermented from cow’s rumen increased onion productivities especially in onion weight (dry and wet matter) and onion diametric. The variation of liquid organic fertilizer dosages (8, 16, 24, and 32 milliliter/liter clean water) did not affect significantly to onion production. Moreover, fertilizer application by drenching to the soil more efficient than by spraying to the onion leaves.Keywords: Liquid Organic Fertilizer, Cow Rumen, Fermented, Onion
