Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has extraordinary natural resources, both biological and non-biological natural resources. Indonesia has a great opportunity in utilizing natural resources to improve the welfare of the people. Unfortunately, Indonesia has not been yet able to exploit all of that. The prices of agricultural products are quite high but ironically the welfare of farmers has not improved either. On the other hand, other natural resources from the marine and earth sector also have export potential, but in fact these potentials have not had a significant influence. One of the causes of the suboptimal use of natural resources in Indonesia is the lack of integration of technology in developing the potential of the biodiversity. One of the efforts made to optimize the potential for life is to apply the concept of physics, which uses the concept of pit heat in the “sanggai” engine technology. This machine can be used to optimize the potential of agriculture in Indonesia. Pit heat technology can dry food without damaging the vitamin content. This technology does not damage the protein structure of food substances so that the application of technology on this machine can be used to optimize the potential of agriculture in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Fe3O4 nanoparticle has potential applications to be active materials for biosensor. This research was aimed at synthesizing and applying Fe3O4 nanoparticles for signal amplification of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)-based biosensor. The synthesis was carried out by using the coprecipitation method at a temperature of 80oC for 60 minutes. NaOH of 5 molars was used as a precipitating agent. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles were characterized for their microstructure by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) techniques. The crystallinity of nanoparticles is 87% and the crystallite size is 15.70 nm. The shape of Fe3O4 is nearly spherical. The optical properties were characterized by using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Specular Reflection UV-Vis Spectroscopy (SR UV-Vis). There were vibrations of Fe3+-O and Fe2+-O bonds at characteristic frequencies of 586.86 cm-1 and 422.64 cm-1. The direct and indirect optical gap energies were 3.43 eV and 3.10 eV. The magnetic properties measured by Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) confirmed that Fe3O4 was ferrimagnetic. The Fe3O4 was successful to be applied as a signal amplifier for SPR-based biosensors due to their optical and magnetic properties. The SPR angle shifted to a higher value and the change was 3.57o.

Abstract

The Heisenberg uncertainty principle is the basic foundation of quantum physics that characterizes quantum physics with classical physics. The Heisenberg uncertainty principle provides boundaries where there are no absolute measurement results in any quantum measurement. Along with the development of increasingly sophisticated measurement instruments in the 21st century, presents the opportunity for the emergence of modifications from the Heisenberg uncertainty principle from the general form of existing formulations. This study aims to provide an overview of the opportunities for Heisenberg uncertainty formulation and provide a description of the stages of the Heisenberg uncertainty formulation's uncertainty formulations that have been reviewed by previous researchers. The research method used is the method of literature study that aims to find out the background and theories of the development of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and to explain the formulation directly which aims to determine the technical sequence of modifications to the existing formulation. Through this research, the authors managed to get an opportunity for the emergence of new modifications to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle formulation.

Abstract

The accommodation room on the ship is used as a resting place for the crew and as a storage place for goods on the ship so insulation is needed in each room to withstand the heat propagation on the ship. One type of insulation material on a ship is mineral wool which is made from polyurethane. Polyurethane is a plastic foam that is a mixture of polyol and isocynate and one of the ingredients is polymer which can be obtained from natural materials that contain lots of cellulose such as bagasse and sawdust. the addition of sawdust and bagasse that can be done is 40% of the total volume of the mixture. Then it is carried out to get the thermal conductivity value of each mixture of sawdust, bagasse, and polyurethane with various dosing ratios on the sawdust, to further calculate the cooling load. The test results show the best conductivity value is the mixing of wood powder 0.2 gr which is 2.65 w / mk which can withstand the rate of heat up to 311.59 KW.

Abstract

Tingkat kebisingan pada siang hari yaitu 65,03 dB(A), 71,17 dB(A) dan 73,87 dB(A). Sedangkan tingkat kebisingan pada sore hari yaitu 67,19 dB(A), 59,44 dB(A) dan 68,09 dB(A).

Abstract

The inertial frame dragging effect of rotating neutron star has been studied. Inertial frame dragging effect, also well known as Lense Thirring effect, has been predicted using general theory of relativity in 1918. When the neutron star rotates very quickly, the space time around it will be dragged to the direction of the rotation. The Lense Thirring effect is small enough for small objects so it will be clearly seen for massive objects like compact stars, especially neutron star. Later, we derive the equation of frame dragging rate () inside the rotating neutron star, which is axisymmetrik and stationary. Frame dragging rate is decreasing from the center to the surface of stars. It is also noted that is proportional to the angular velocity of star.

Abstract

Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP) has been synthesized with carbaryl used as a template and forms complex bonds with Methacrylic Acid (MAA)through hydrogen bonds, followed by a cross-linking process using Ethylene Glycol Dimethacrylate (EGDMA) cross-linkers. The polymerization process begins with the thermal decomposition of Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) as an initiator. Non-Imprinted Polymer (NIP) as a control polymer has also been synthesized using a similar procedure without using carbaryl templates. In this study, two variations of carbaryl are used, which are not milled carbamates, and carbaryl has been milled using High Energy Milling (HEM). The FTIR study was carried out to investigate the presence of carbaryl in polymers, MIP, and NIP. The spectrum shows that the concentration of carbaryl compound decreases after the extraction process. This result was also confirmed by the increase in the value of the percentage of transmittance in the MIP, especially the nano carbaryl MIP. This result is supported by the X-RD results, which showed a decrease in the size of the crystals in the carbaryl MIP from 10.07 Å while the nano carbaryl MIP was 9.16 Å.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Wave sound is one of the sources of ambient noise in the waters which causes the role of sound as a transmission medium of information and communication becomes disrupted. The characteristics of wave noise can be influenced by their parameters, such as height and period of the waves and breaking waves. The study aimed to determine the characteristics of noise (intensity, frequency, pulse duration and interval duration) of waves based on its height, periods and breaking waves. Data acquisition for sound wave is obtained by hydrophones, visual of wave from CCTV cameras, and wave parameters is determined from ADCP data. Sound characteristics based its height, period and breaking waves were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis analysis. The intensity of noise is affected by all wave parameters, while the pulse duration is significantly influenced by the changes in height and wave period, and the breaking waves velocity. Frequency of noise is only impacted by the breaking wave height. Other noise characteristics, the interval duration is not significantly influenced by all wave parameters.
