Abstract

Lecturers in study programs make a major contribution to the quality of study program accreditation, particularly in the upcoming IAPS 4.0 completeness. The lecturer base needs to be managed through a concrete, transparent, structured, comprehensive, and accountable system. Lack of data management in lecturers at the Mechanical Engineering Education / PTM Study Program so far is still paperless based so that it is less effective, efficient, having to copy documents, and tends only to collect data close to the accreditation of study programs. This research aims: (1) to produce e-monitoring products on the performance of lecturers based on a cloud computing system; (2) knowing the level of feasibility of e-monitoring products on the performance of lecturers based on cloud computing system at PTM Study Program. The research method uses Research and Development (R&D), which adopts the ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluation) model. The research sample was 11 PTM lecturers. Validators of eligibility included the chairman of the LPM and the chair of the UST IT team. The instruments used included questionnaires and documentation. This research succeeded in producing a product in the form of a cloud computing system with a private cloud type with the Platform As A Service (PaaS) model. The data used as an assessment of lecturer performance include governance, HR performance, education performance, research performance, and service performance. The results of expert assessments obtained an average of 91.25%, which shows that this system is very feasible to use. While the evaluation results of the system implementation showed that 90% of PTTM lecturers were able to understand and skillfully operate the cloud system, thus this system is very feasible to be used as e-monitoring of lecturer performance that is accurate, accountable, objective, and safe to use.

Abstract

The milling machine in the workshop of Bandung Manufacturing Polytechnic works not too optimally in the process of the incision. This is due to the disappearance of two rotary table lock milling machine which makes the cutting process less than perfect. This study attempts to make a rotary table lock milling machines schaublin 13. The stages in this study are the study of literature, making work drawings, preparing tools and materials, and execution. Data obtained in the process of making the rotary table lock was analyzed qualitative descriptive. The results of this study are (1) there are several parameters that must be considered such as spindle rotation, feeding motion, and depth of cut, (2) the milling process must be carried out in accordance with the procedure to ensure the operator and engine safety, (3) the milling process must be carried out carefully so that the workpiece can match to the work drawings. Perseverance in the milling process is needed for maximum results

Abstract

This research aims at investigating the performance of a gasification stove with wood-chips as fuel and recognizing the factors affecting. The stove consisted of a reactor, a char chamber, and a burner. The fuel was fed into the reactor with a certain amount of primary air was flowed through the bottom part of the reactor, and then was ignited from the topside of the fuel. Meanwhile, combustion zone move down and left char that would be taken out after the process finished. Combustible gases resulted from reactions flowed to the burner where the secondary air enters through holes located at burner side combusted the combustible gases. The highest performance achieve was still relatively low (7.3 %), so that model design improvement is required. The stove performance could be possibly influenced by the following parameters, namely: combustion zone propagation rate, fuel consumption rate, and specific gasification rate, which all of them were very interrelated and indicated temperature stability that was proportional to the efficiency achieved. These were shown by stable water temperature profile obtained from boiling process during gasification. The more stable the process the higher the efficiency.

Abstract

Various kinds of technology and scientific discoveries produced by mankind have led to innovations in multi-story construction, especially office buildings that are widely built in the city of Jakarta. This research is under construction, in which to find out whether the design used is appropriate and efficient. From the calculation results, the design of an elevator at a capacity of 1000 kg with a speed of 60 Mpm, a car 1600 X 1400 Hoitsway 2430 X 2240 X 2350 obtains a carrying capacity of 1000 kg (13 people) and a power of 6.19 kW which comes from the Harmoni building (6 floors building). While the tensile stress on the elevator rope is 188.8 kg with an allowable tension of 909.1 kg and the age of the rope is 59.69 months or 4.9 years. The pull on the elevator rope is 131.63 kg with an allowable tension of 909.5 kg and the age of the rope is 1115.3 months or 9.6 years. with an elevator carrying capacity of 630 kg (8 people) and a speed of 105 Mpm (1.75 m/s).

Abstract

Wind energy as one of the new renewable energies that has considerable potential in Indonesia is known by the rapid development of wind power plants in Indonesia. The windmill blade which is one of the main components of the windmill has a role as the conversion of wind potential energy into motion energy to eventually become electrical energy that is influenced by the shape of the windmill blade of the windmill. NACA (National Aeronautical Committee Advisory) in charge of aeronautics has standards regarding varying airfoil shapes. A comparison of variations of 4-digit type airfoils (NACA 4412), 5 digits (NACA 23012) and series 16 (NACA 16-212) to determine the value of Cl / Cd from the variation of NACA airfoil types. The results of simulations carried out using Qblade software showed that the value of Cl / Cd to the highest alpha of the three types of airfoils was NACA 4412 with a value of 134, alpha 6 and the Cp value for the highest TSR was 0.44 at TSR 5.5. Furthermore, the NACA 4412 airfoil blades can be developed by making lighter material variations so that the windmill blades are easier to spin so that the resulting power becomes more maximal.

Abstract

The depletion of fossil fuels requires alternative energy, one of which alternative energy is bioethanol. Pineapple peel waste has the potential to produce bioethanol because it contains 17.53% carbohydrates and 13.65% sugar which is quite high. The purpose of this study was to produce bioethanol from pineapple peels with the addition of NPK fertilizer as nutrition. The method used is to conduct experiments with the stages: extraction, saccharification, fermentation, distillation, analysis and conclusions. The results obtained were that the highest bioethanol content was obtained in the addition of 20 grams of NPK fertilizer, namely 29.60%.

Abstract

This study aims at assessing the various educational materials used in teaching mechanical engineering drawing to students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Semarang State University, and Vocational High School. Data were obtained from 71 university students, 75 public vocational high school 1 students and 37 students of Texmaco Semarang vocational high school using the questionnaire method. Furthermore, descriptive statistics and one-way analysis of variance tests were used to analyze data. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the materials used in teaching mechanical engineering students are in the “very necessary” category, while that of students of vocational high school is in the “necessary” category. The difference in assessment is evidenced from the results of a one-way analysis of variance test, which found differences in the results of the assessment among university students, students of State Vocational High School 1 and Texmaco Vocational High School Semarang.

Abstract

Effective vocational education is a dream for students, especially the community and parties involved in vocational education. Vocational schools are required to graduate their students according to what is needed by the industry in the field. Vocational education is expected to collaborate with industry to jointly develop or develop curriculum so that there is no deviation between the SMK and the industry. The purpose of this study is to find effective and efficient vocational education indicators. The research method used is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The results of the study found in the characteristics of effective SMKs that are the basis for developing school performance indicators can be grouped into six aspects, namely: (1) Program for improving vocational student achievement; (2) Practice learning both theory and practice; (3) School leadership; (4) Staff development and development; (5) Environmental conditions and academic climate in SMK; and (6) The participation of parents in the administration of education. SMK Negeri 2 Kotif Palopo is one of the vocational schools in the field of technology that is professional in graduating students. In this case, the graduates of SMK Negeri 2 Kotif Palopo have been scattered everywhere, especially in local industries and large industries in Indonesia, especially in Makassar City and North Sulawesi.
