Abstract

This study was conducted because the students learning activities of seventh-grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan academic year 2016/2017 in the learning of mathematics are still lacking. This study aims to increase the students' learning activities in mathematics learning by using the cooperative learning model of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type on students class VII in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan on Even Semester in Academic Year 2016/2017. This study is a classroom action research—the setting using VII B class with number 34 students. The study was conducted two cycles by using a cooperative learning model of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type. Each cycle is consisting of 2 meetings. Methods of data collection using observation, interview, documentation, and triangulation. Instrument analysis using content validity. The analysis used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study showed that learning by using cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type can increase student learning activities in learning mathematics on students class VII in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Prambanan on even Semester in academic year 2016/2017. These things proven from the observation of student learning activities in learning each cycle has increased. The average observation percentage of student learning activity in cycle I is 51,17% with enough criterion, and in the cycle, II increased to 70,88% with good criterion. The results of interviews with students showed a positive response to student learning activities.

Abstract

Learning tends to be dominated by teachers, which causes some students to be passive in learning. This is thought to make the level of students' creative thinking skills low. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in the level of creative thinking abilities of students who use Open-ended based learning with Problem Based Learning (PBL) methods with those using Conventional learning methods for students' creative thinking skills of VIII Grande students of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 2 Majenang Cilacap Regency At Odd Semester In Academic Year of 2018/2019. The population in this study there are eight classes. The sample was taken by two classes with a random sampling technique for the class and selected VIII-G class as the control class and VIII-H as the experimental class. The design in this study is the Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. Data collection techniques using test techniques (pretest and posttest) and questionnaire techniques. Data collection instruments in the form of tests and test questionnaires. Test data collection instruments using validity, discriminating power, and reliability tests. Data analysis techniques using analysis prerequisite tests include normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The study results at a significant level of 5%, and df = 61 indicate that: (1) there is a difference in the value of posttest mathematics using open-ended-based learning with problem-based learning (PBL) method with learning using conventional methods. This is indicated by ttable = t (0,025) (61) = 1,996 and tcount = 2,988762 which means ttable< tcount(2) Learning using Open-ended PBL method is more effective than learning using conventional methods. This is indicated by the value of tcount = 2.988762 and ttable = t (0.025) (61) = 1.670385 which means tcount>ttable .

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between parents' socioeconomic status and the learning environment of students with mathematics learning achievement for students of class VIII in the second semester of SMP N 3 Wates Kulon Progo in the 2014/2015 academic year. The population in this study were all students of class VIII Semester II as many as 75 students, consisting of 3 classes and each class consisting of 25 students. Data collection techniques used by the test method to obtain data on mathematics learning achievement, questionnaire method to obtain data on the socioeconomic status of parents and student learning environment. Item analysis uses the validity test and the reliability test. Hypothesis testing using product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that parents' socioeconomic status had a positive and significant effect on mathematics learning achievement with simple correlation analysis and the t-test obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.959. The student learning environment has a positive and significant effect on mathematics learning achievement, with simple correlation analysis and t-test obtained correlation coefficients of 0.987. Parents' socioeconomic status and student learning environment have a positive and significant effect on mathematics learning achievement obtained by the double determinant coefficient of 0.974, multiple linear regression equations Y = -0.000205X1+0.898505X2 – 26.981980, this shows that the socioeconomic status of parents and learning environment towards mathematics learning achievement is 97.4%. In the calculation obtained relative contributions from the socioeconomic status of parents by 0.03776% and from the student learning environment by 99.96224. An effective contribution can be obtained from the parents' socioeconomic status by 0.03677% and from the student learning environment by 97.334112%.

Therefore requires learning alternatives include using Cooperative Jigsaw and Quantum Learning for mathematics. This type of research is a comparative study. The study population all seventh-grade students of State Junior High School (SMPN) 01 Kretek Academic Year 2015/2016. The research sample is student’s class VIIC and VIID. The sampling technique used random sampling of classes. Methods of data collection using the test. The research instrument includes validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and distinguishing matter. Analysis of the data used t-test. The results showed significant differences between student learning mathematics learning using Jigsaw Cooperative models with student learning to use Quantum Learning. Based on data analysis, , which means the Cooperative Jigsaw learning model is more effective than the learning model Quantum Learning on students mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The use of fewer media to explain material resulted in students is less active when the learning process so that students have difficulty understanding material. This is guessed to be one of the factors of mathematics student’s value is low. This research is intended to know (1) whether or not differences in mathematics learning outcomes by using GeoGebra assisted problem-based learning model with a direct learning model, and (2) to know the effectiveness of two models on the learning outcomes of  X class Of SMA Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta In Academic Year Of 2016/2017. The population of this research is students of X classes of Muhammadiyah Senior High School 5 Yogyakarta (SMA Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta) in the academic year 2016/2017. Samples were taken by random sampling technique to class, to get XF as experiment class and XB as control class. This experiment design is a post-test only control design. The data get from the post-test result in the description. Analysis of test instrument use validity test and reliability test. The analysis technique consists of (1) test of requirement: test of normality and test of homogeneity, and (2) test of hypothesis. Test of hypothesis use statistics test of t-student. Hypothesis testing is done two times; the first hypothesis and the second hypothesis. The result on significance is 5%, and df = 62 showed that: (1) there were differences in mathematics learning outcomes using GeoGebra assisted problem-based learning model with a direct learning model. It is showed by tcount = 5,031541 and ttable = 1,999. So that tcount = 5,031541 > ttable = 1,999, (2) problem-based learning model more effective than direct learning model to learning outcomes of the student. It is showed by tcount = 5,031541 and ttable = 1,670. So that tcount = 5,031541 > ttable = 1,670.

Abstract

Learning that teachers dominate, communication tends to one direction, and students' inactivity is why students often forget the material so that the learning results are not maximum. PQ4R was created to improve the memory of the matter. This research aims to determine the difference between the use of PQ4R learning strategies and learning strategies that have been used in place of research that is Expository, in its relation to the mathematics learning outcomes of students VIII grade even semester SMP Negeri 4 Sewon Bantul academic year 2016/2017. This study used a posttest-only control group design. The population in this study are three classes: the sample taken two classes with random sample technique. Data collection was conducted with the test method. The instrument used is a multiple-choice test. Before analyzing the data, a prerequisite test consisting of normality test and homogeneity test was performed. The research results on the significant level of 5% and df = 62 indicate that: (1) there is a difference in students' mathematics learning between using PQ4R learning strategies and using expository learning strategies. This is indicated by the value of  = 1.99897 and =  = 11.54804 which mean  > . Moreover, (2) PQ4R learning strategies are more effective than expository strategies. This is indicated by the value of = 1.6698 and = = 11,54804 which mean  > .
