Abstract

The test instrument for the odd midterm assessment questions in the XI grade of the social science class of mathematics subjects has not yet been analyzed for its characteristics. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the characteristics of midterm assessment items of the mathematic subject in State Senior High School (SMA Negeri) 1 Ngaglik. The research is a research with post facto with a quantitative descriptive approach with subjects, namely the instrument items for midterm assessment questions in the form of open questions as many as five questions. The research object is a twentieth grade in SMA Negeri 1 Ngaglik that consists of 32 students. An analyzing data used Microsoft excel on manually of validity, power difference difficulty index, and reliability. The result showed that: 1) midterm test instrument of mathematics subjects are categorized very high, which means the items are valid with a V-Aiken index value of 1 for each; 2) from 5 questions, the difficulty index obtained was one which was categorized as an easy question and four moderate questions; 3) from 5 questions, two questions have good power difference category, and three questions were categorized sufficient; 4) the reliability obtained was 0,501 which was categorized as medium.

Abstract

The students' lack of learning activity can be marked by lacking their enthusiasm, interaction, cooperation, and participation in the maths learning process. This research had the aim to increase the students learning activity using a cooperative learning model of NHT type. The research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subject is the VIII D of SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta on the even semester Academic Year 2016/2017. The object of the research is maths learning activity by using a cooperative learning model of NHT type. The technique used to collect the data is the observation method, interview method, test method, and triangulation. The research instruments were observation and interview papers. The research did twice cycles. The cycle was stopped after the indicator's result was reached out to> 60% or good criteria. The result of the research shown that maths learning by using a cooperative learning model of NHT type can increase the maths learning activity of the VIII D. Based on the result of the student's activity observation, where each learning process got an increasing percentage. The first achievement is 44.91 %. It means enough, and the other achievement became 67.83%. It means good. Based on the result of the interview, it is shown that there was a positive response to the students.

Abstract

The use of materials that are insufficient to cause the learning process centered on the teacher. It causes low student independence and liveliness in building his own, becomes a factor it needs alternative materials that can facilitate the student's independent study. Math algebra material on module into alternative materials that can be used by students. This research aims to develop a mathematical module and test the feasibility of the mathematics modules. The research design used, namely with the stages of Research and Development potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, revision of the design, product testing, product testing, revisions, and revision of the product. The subject of research is the study of the expert product, i.e., lecture of mathematics, mathematics teacher, and students. Types of data used, i.e., qualitative and quantitative data. Engineering data collection using a non-test with instruments in the form of sheets of interview and question form. With test instruments through the validation and analysis of data using lecturer analysis question form and analysis of the feasibility of a mathematical module. Based on the results of the study, the feasibility of mathematical module by material obtained an average score of 151 with the criteria of very good, the eligibility module by media expert gained an average of 167.33 criteria very good, and the now the response of students with an average of 130.7 and 127 with the criteria of very good. So, the mathematical content module algebra worth for use in learning.

Abstract

Learning mathematics is still a lesson that is considered difficult for students. Student activity also seems to be lacking. This can be seen from some students who pay less attention to the teacher's lessons, and some students chat with their friends. Students also do not want to ask the teacher if they have difficulty learning or working on math problems. Sometimes students lack the confidence to ask questions or express their opinions. For this reason, students need an active attitude in solving problems during the learning process of mathematics. This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning activities. This study's subjects were the sixth-grade students of Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah Ngemplak Sleman Regency, totaling 32 students consisting of 20 male students and 12 female students. This research aims to apply the team's games tournament (TGT) type learning model. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation and interview methods. The research instrument used observation sheets and interview sheets. The data analysis technique in this study used a qualitative descriptive. This study indicates that passing the TGT cooperative learning model can improve mathematics learning activities in VIIA students in the Middle Semester of SMP Muhammadiyah Ngemplak Sleman Regency 2018/2019. This is shown from the results of the observation sheet of student learning activities in mathematics learning, which has increased every Cycle, namely in Cycle I, indicators of student enthusiasm in participating in learning amounted to 59,38% with sufficient criteria, student and teacher interaction of 55,86% with sufficient criteria, the interaction between students was 53,52% with sufficient criteria, group collaboration was 62,90% with good criteria, student activity in the group was 57,82% with sufficient criteria, student participation in concluding the discussion result was 55,86% with sufficient criteria. While in Cycle II, each indicator has increased, namely the indicator of student enthusiasm in participating in learning amounting to 79,69% with good criteria, the interaction between students and teachers amounted to 73,83% with good criteria, the interaction between students was 71,10% with good criteria, group collaboration amounted to 78,91% with good criteria, student activities in the group amounted to 76,95% with good criteria, student participation in concluding the results of the discussion amounted to 73,44% with good criteria.

Abstract

The use of instructional media in mathematics learning has not been maximally utilized. The teaching materials used are difficult to understand. The limitations of learning media cause students to feel difficulties in understanding the material. This development research aims to determine the development of mathematics learning media on Polygonmaterial based on Macromedia flash professional eight and the feasibility of mathematics learning media products in supporting mathematics learning on Polygonmaterial. This study uses the Research and Development (R & D) research and development model developed covering the research and data collection stages, planning, developing draft products, initial field trials, and revising trials' results. Subjects in the research and development of learning media were material experts, media experts, and students' responses to Muhammadiyah  Junior High School 2 (SMP 2 Muhammadiyah) Depok and  State Junior High School 4 (SMP Negeri 4) Patuk. This study's object is a medium of learning mathematics of Polygonmaterial based on Macromedia flash professional 8. This learning media has gone through a revision stage based on suggestions and input from material experts and media experts and student responses. The results showed that the assessment by material experts averaged 73.67 with very good categories. The assessment by media experts on average was 51.67 with good categories, and the assessment of student responses averaged 74.92 with excellent categories. These results show that mathematics learning media on Polygonmaterials based on Macromedia Flash Professional 8 is suitable for the learning process and gets positive responses from students.
