Abstract

The result of the study in a low student is related to many factors. Learning motivation, reasoning ability, and learning environment at home are estimated to have a relationship between learning outcomes. This research aims to know there is or not a positive relationship between learning motivation, reasoning ability, and learning environment at home with mathematics learning outcomes on students in grade VIII of Muhammadiyah Junior High School 7 Yogyakarta (SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta) in odd semester academic year 2017/2018. The population in this research are all students in grade VIII of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta in odd semester 2016/2017 academic year as many as seven classes. Sampling technique using sampling random technique to class and class VIII G is chosen as the sample class. The data collecting technique using questionnaires and test methods. The instrument of collecting data using questionnaires of motivation to learn, a test of reasoning ability, and a questionnaire of the learning environment at home and mathematics test. Data analysis to hypotheses testing using correlation analysis product-moment and double linear regression analysis. The result of this research shows that if there is a positive relationship between learning motivation, reasoning ability, and learning environment at home with mathematics learning outcomes. Abstract

Mathematics is a compulsory subject at the secondary school level, especially on matrix material, sometimes students are still difficult to distinguish rows and columns. It is not easy to do multiplications on matrices. Learning media are expected to be a facility that supports learning. This study aims to develop learning tools based on Macromedia flash subject matter matrix class XI. In developing this learning media based on using Research and Development with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This research was conducted at Islamic Senior High School (MA) Muallimin Yogyakarta. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The quantitative data analysis technique calculates the score of the developed learning media's feasibility test results. The results of research on the development of interactive learning media mathematics based on Macromedia flash subject matter matrix XI based on the quality of each indicator in terms of material experts in the excellent category with an average percentage score of 86.84%, in terms of media experts in the category are very feasible with a percentage score an average of 88.33%, and student responses in the exciting category with an average percentage score of 77.37. The learning media based on Macromedia flash subject matter matrix XI class material is very feasible in the learning process.

Abstract

Based on the information from the students of SMP Negeri 2 Pleret Bantul District, students are less conducive to the learning environment, as well as learning styles about students’ learning motivation is low. This study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between students’ learning environment, learning style and learning motivation the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Pleret Bantul District in the odd semester in the academic year of 2016/2017. The population of the research is all student's regular classes VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Pleret Bantul District of the odd semester in the academic year of 2016/2017 as many as 7 classes. Taken as a class VIII G class research sample by random sampling technique to class. Data collection techniques such as questionnaires and test engineering. Questionnaire research instrument for the variables of students’ learning environment, variable learning style, and variable learning motivation while research instrument outcome variables studied mathematics. Test using a research instrument validity, different power, and reliability testing. Analysis prerequisite test including normality test, independent test and linearity test. Data analysis for hypothesis testing using product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between (1) the learning environment of students with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.4317; (2) learning style with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.5145; (3) learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.4012; (4) the learning environment of students and learning style with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.5728; (5) students' learning environment and learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.4632; (6) learning style and learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.5725; (7) the learning environment of students, learning style and learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.5874 and the linear regression equation  = -60,3895 + 0,2665  + 0,8747  + 0,5304 . Large donations are relatively  = 21,7776%,  = 58,7420%  and  = 19,4804% and the effective contribution  = 7,5134%, = 20,2664% and = 6,7209%. This shows that the way of learning style (x2) have a greater relationship to mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Based on the observation in SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta obtained some information that low numerical ability, parents pay less attention to children/students in terms of learning, and student learning discipline is less. This study aims to determine whether or not a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, parental attention, and discipline of learning with the results of learning mathematics seventh-grade students  Muhammadiyah Junior High School 9 Yogyakarta (SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta) even semester 2016/2017 academic year. SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta academic year 2016/2017 consists of 5 classes. All classes have an average value of final exams that is almost the same, so that the population in this study is class seventh gradee A to seventh grade E. Sampling technique using random sampling technique to class and class of VIIC selected as sample class. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and tests. The data collection instrument uses numerical ability tests, questionnaires of parental attention, discipline study questionnaires, and learning results. Test of research instrument using validity test, reliability test, and different power tests. The prerequisite analysis test includes a normality test, linearity test, and independence test—data analysis for hypothesis testing using product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.  The results showed a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, parental attention, and discipline of learning with the results of learning mathematics. At a significant level of 5%, v1 = 3, v2 = 28, Fcount = 49,9147137 and Ftable = 2,946685269, Fcount> Ftable with double correlation coefficient R = 0.917861751 and multiple regression equation three variables namely Y = -18 , 86970257 +0,385695364 X1 + 0,260272591 X 2 + 0,599196062 X3. Relative contribution X1 = 38,54162209%, X2 = 48,612,2907%,  X3 = 48,612,2907%, with double determination coefficient 0,842470194 and effective contribution X1 = 32,47016786%, X2 = 10,8224975% and X3 = 40,95435408%.

Abstract

Interest is one of the affective aspects affecting student's achievement. This study aims to increase students' interest in learning mathematics in class VIII E students of State Junior High School (SMP N) 2 Sanden, Bantul Regency using peer tutor methods. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This study's subjects were 28 students of class VIII E SMP N 2 Sanden, Bantul Regency. The object of this study was learning using peer tutor methods. Data collection techniques used observation and questionnaire methods. Data collection instruments were observation sheets, questionnaires, and documentation. The data collected was analyzed by qualitative descriptive. This study indicates that mathematics learning with peer tutor methods can increase students' interest in learning mathematics for students of class VIII E of SMP N 2 Sanden. This is indicated by increasing students' interest in learning mathematics from cycle I to cycle II. In the first cycle, students' average score in learning mathematics is 62.23 with fewer categories. In cycle II the average score of students' interest in learning mathematics increase to 71.88 in the high category.

Abstract

The reason for the research that the learning process uses in SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta tends centered to the teacher, students becoming passive and less involved in the learning process, so that needed model of learning that involved students becoming active. Model of learning that can provide opportunities for students to actively is a cooperative learning model of snowball throwing and cooperative learning model of group investigation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model of snowball throwing type and cooperative learning model of group investigation type toward mathematics learning outcomes in second grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta in odd semester academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta in the first semester of the academic year 2016/2017 is divided seven classes namely class VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D, VIII E, VIII F, VIII G totaling 150 students. Samples were taken 3 classes using random sampling techniques, derived class VIII B as an experimental class I, VIII D class as the experimental class II, and VIII C class as the control class. Data analysis techniques used for prerequisite tests including normality test with chi-square formula, bartlett homogeneity test by test, and test hypotheses include F test and significant raced different (LSD). The result on significant level 5% and db = (2,98) shows (1) there are different results of the mathematics learning uses model of learning snowball throwing, model of group investigation, and model of learning expository. This is shows with value  ,  so that  and (2) the results mathematics learning of the students that use the cooperative learning model of snowball throwing better than learning process uses cooperative learning model of group investigation and model of learning expository. This result shows with hypothesis test LSD which is significant level 5% and 98 degrees of freedom is obtained in case I because    rejected, and  >  it is mean that . Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between self-confidence and emotional intelligence with the math results in class VIII even semester at State Junior High School 2 Purwodadi (SMP Negeri 2 Purwadadi) Ciamis regency. The academic year of 2017/2018. This research sample is VIII class student at even semester in SMP Negeri 2 Purwadadi Regency of Ciamis academic year 2017/2018, which consists of class VIIIA, VIIIB, and VIIIC that consist of 71 students. The sample was taken from class VIIIA with a random sampling technique to the class. Data collection techniques used questionnaire method to obtain self-confidence data and emotional intelligence and test methods to obtain data of mathematics learning result Data analysis using product moment analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between self-confidence with the results of learning mathematics class VIII Semester Even SMP Negeri 2 Purwadadi Ciamis Regency Year 2017/2018. This is shown by the test- t is t_count > t_table or 2,9720 > 2.0595. The simple correlation coefficient (r) between self-confidence and mathematics learning result of 0,5110 with linear regression equation Y Ì‚ = 35,0491 + 0,3939 X_1. There is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence with mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII Semester Even SMP Negeri 2 Purwadadi Ciamis Regency Year 2017/2018. The test indicates this- t is tcount > ttable or 3.0221 > 2.0595. Simple correlation coefficient (r) between emotional intelligence with mathematics learning result of 0,5173 with linear regression equation Y Ì‚ = 28,1534 + 0,4740 X_2. there is a positive and significant relationship between self-confidence and emotional intelligence with the result of learning mathematics with Fcount > Ftable is 7,4311> 3,4028 with R = 0,6184 and R2 = 0,3824 with Y Ì‚ = 15,8994 + 0, 2828X_1 + 0.3454X_2 with RC X_1= 49,0058% and RC X_2 = 50,9942% EC X_1 = 18,7415% and EC X_2 = 19,5019%.

Abstract

The learning model used in Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta has not been optimal to develop student cooperation. This research aims to determine (1) the presence or absence of difference in the ability of student cooperation in learning mathematics taught using cooperative learning model type of TPS with taught using direct learning model and (2) which learning model is more effective between cooperative learning model type of Think Pair Share (TPS) direct learning model toward the ability of student cooperation. This research is experimental. The population is the students of class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta even semester academic year 2016/2017. By random sampling, samples selected class VIIF as the experimental class and class VIIG as the control class. Instrument data collection using the ability of student cooperation observation sheet. The observation sheet has been by construct validity. The prerequisite analysis test used a normality test using the Chi-square formula and a homogeneity test using the Bartlett test. Data analysis used is the hypothesis test using a t-test with a significant level of 5% and degrees of freedom 61. Based on the result of the hypothesis, I test obtained . Because , so is rejected. There are differences in student cooperation in learning mathematics, taught using a cooperative learning model type of TPS with a direct learning model. Furthermore, the results of the hypothesis II test is obtained . Because , so is rejected. Thus, TPS's cooperative learning model type is more effective than the direct learning model toward student cooperation.

Abstract

Students' learning outcomes may depend on several factors. It is assumed that learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety are related to the students' learning outcomes. This research aims to know whether there is a positive and significant relationship between learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety and mathematic learning outcomes of grade VIII students in the odd semester of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi, Banjarnegara Regency, in the academic year of 2016/2017. The populations of this research are 95 students in grade VIII of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi, Banjarnegara Regency, in the academic year of 2016/2017, consisting of grade VIII A, VIII B, and VIII C. Grade VIII B students were taken as the sample through random sampling class. The data were collected using a questionnaire, which is useful to obtain the data on the learning interest, parental involvement, and anxiety in mathematics. Besides, a test was also carried out to get the data on the learning outcomes in mathematics. The instrument was tested using a validity test, differential test, and reliability test. Prerequisite analysis tests include normality tests, linearity tests, and independence tests. The data were analyzed using product moment analysis and multiple linear regressions. The research findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between learning interest, parental involvement, as well as anxiety and mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students in the odd semester of SMP Cokroaminoto Wanadadi Banjarnegara regency in the academic year of 2016/2017. It can be seen from the results showing that Fcount>Ftablethat is 10.022 > 2.95 with R = 0.7196 and R2 = 0.51780 with Y= 29.5269 + 0.5797 X1+ 0.1417 X2– 0.2878X3, with Relative Contribution X1 = 77.7748%, Relative Contribution  X2 = 9.9445%,and Relative Contribution  X3 = 12.2807%, SE X1 = 40.2718%, Effective Contribution X2 = 5.1492%, and Effective Contribution X3 = 6.2590%.
