Abstract

ABSTRACTThe reason for the research that the learning process uses in SMP Negeri 1 Sedayu tends teacher-centered,  students becoming passive and less involved in the learning process, and needed the model of learning that involved students. The objective of the study is to know the effectiveness model of the learning cycle “5E” and STAD to student's mathematics learning outcomes. The population in this study were all students in grade VIII even semester SMP Negeri 1 Sedayu academic year 2015/2016. Technique sampling using a random sample of the class, obtainable class VIII A as experiment class I, class VIII E as experiment class II, and class VIII C as control class. The data collection technique is to use the test. The research instrument is the mathematics result test in the form of a double helix. Instrument test includes validity, distinguishing capacity ad reliability testing. Analysis of the data used is the prerequisite test analysis consist of a normality test and homogeneity test, and the hypothesis test consists of test F and tests Least significant different (LSD). The result on a significant level 5% and df = (2,87) shows (1) there is a different result of the mathematics learning uses the model of learning cycle “5E”, the model of learning STAD, and model of learning conventionally. This is shows with value fcount = 12,1253 > ftable  >  and (2) the results mathematics learning of the students that use the model of learning cycle “5E” better than learning process uses the model of learning STAD and result from mathematics learning of the students that use the model of learning STAD better than learning process uses the model of learning conventionally. This result shows with hypothesis test LSD which is significant level 5% and 87 degrees of freedom is obtained in case I because   rejected, it's mean that   . Abstract

Low students’ learning outcomes are related to many factors. Confidence, parents’ attention, and classmate's interactions are among them. This study aims to determine whether there are positive and significant relations between confidences, parents’ attention, classmate interactions, and mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta in the even semester of the academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this study were regular grade VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta in 2016/2017, consisting of four classes with the total number of 115 students. Random sampling technique was applied to take the sample of this research, which is grade VIII students class C. The data on confidences, parents' attention, and classmate interactions were obtained through questionnaires. At the same time, the data of the mathematics learning outcomes were obtained through the test. The research instruments were tested using a validity test, differential test, and reliability test. Analysis prerequisite test includes normality, linearity, and independence test. Product moment and multiple linear regression analyses were used to analyze the data. The results show that there are positive and significant relations between confidence, parents' attention, and classmate interactions with mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta in the even semester of the academic year of 2016/2017. Abstract

The low mathematical disposition of students became a problem in this study. The use of guided discovery models in mathematics learning is expected to be effective in increasing mathematical dispositions. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of guided discovery learning models on grade VII students' mathematical disposition in State Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Pajangan even semester 2017/2018 school year. This study's population was students of class VII of SMPN 1 Pajangan of 2017/2018 school year consisting of 5 classes. The sampling technique uses random cluster sampling, which is sampling by random class through a lottery. Students of class VII D obtained the lottery results as the experimental group and students of class VII A as the control group. Data collection techniques in the form of tests and questionnaires. Data collection instruments in the form of test questions and form questionnaires with Likert scale. Data analysis techniques using t-test. Hypothesis testing uses a two-party t-test and a one-party t-test. The results showed: 1) Test the first hypothesis through the test obtained , and through the questionnaire obtained  then H0 has rejected means that there are differences in students' mathematical disposition abilities in classes that use guided discovery learning models with students in classes that use expository learning models. 2) Test the second hypothesis through tests obtained  and through questionnaires obtained  H0 has rejected guided discovery learning models that are more effective than expository learning models on students' mathematical dispositions.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence and Adversity Quotient of students in SMP N 2 Nanggulan are still relatively low due to lack of sympathy, sense of responsibility, and irritability. This is thought to result in low mathematics learning outcomes. This study aims to determine: a significant influence between emotional intelligence and adversity quotient of students in school on mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII odd semester of SMP N 2 Nanggulan, Kulon Progo Regency 2015/2016 academic year. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP N 2 Nanggulan, Kulon Progo Regency in the academic year 2015/2016, consisting of classes VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, totaling 96 students. Class VIII A as a trial class, Samples taken from class VIII B as experimental class 1 and class VIII C as experimental class 2. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling techniques. Data collection techniques using non-test test methods. Data collection instruments in the form of questionnaires and multiple-choice questions. The data collection instrument test uses a validity test, a reliability test, and a different power test. The data analysis technique used is the prerequisite test analysis including normality test and homogeneity test, followed by hypothesis testing using 2x2 Factorial Design. Finally, use the t-test to compare the high and low average of each instrument. The results showed that: (1) there was an influence of emotional intelligence on mathematics learning outcomes, evidenced by = 4,859439652 ≥   =4, 0039 at a significant level of 5%, db: V1 = 1 and V2 = 59, (2) there is an effect of adversity quotient on mathematics learning outcomes, evidenced by   = 6,265821956 ≥   =4,0039 at a significant level of 5%, db: V1 = 1 and V2 = 59, (3) there is an influence of emotional intelligence and adversity quotient on mathematics learning outcomes, evidenced by = 4,528768652 ≥  = 4,0039 at a significant level of 5%, db: V1 = 1 and V2 = 59. Then from the results of Tukey's HSD test showed that the third treatment (low emotional intelligence and high adversity quotient) which is the lowest average learning outcomes.

Abstract

Many factors can influence the results of mathematics learning. Students' perceptions toward mathematics subject and learning motivation are some factors that are suspected of his relationship with the student's mathematics achievement. This study aims to determine whether there is any positive and significant relationship between students' perception of mathematics subject and learning motivation with mathematics learning achievement in class VIII of even semester Muhammadiyah Junior High School 9 Yogyakarta(SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta) academic year 2016/2017. This study population is all students in class VIII of even semester SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta academic year 2016/2017, which consists of 5 classes with a total of 165 students. The sampling class is using a random sampling technique so that obtained class VIIIC amounted to 34 students. The data collecting technique is using the questionnaire method and the test method. Test the instrument using validity test, differentiation power test, and reliability test. Test prerequisite analysis using tests of normality, independent test, and linearity test. Data analysis using regression analysis and correlation analysis. The results of this study indicate a positive and significant relationship between students' perception of mathematics and learning motivation with the mathematics achievement of students with  dan  so obtained  Multiple correlation coefficient (R) = 0,429 with coefficient of determination (R2) = 0,184 with linear regression equation . The relative contribution of (X1) = 31,897%, relative contribution of (X2) = 68,103%, effective contribution of (X1) = 5,867%, and effective contribution of (X2) = 12,526%.

Abstract

Limitations of teaching materials is a problem that affects the achievement of learning objectives. The existing teaching materials are still challenging to understand. One of the teaching materials that can help students learn actively and independently is the module. This study aims to develop, test the module's feasibility, and determine the student's response to the development of a mathematical module with the RME approach on the subject of statistics.  The research design used Research and Development with potential and problem steps, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, product revision, product trial, and revision trial. Research subjects are material experts, media experts, and student responses in Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 3 Pleret and SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta. This research object is a module of mathematics learning with an RME approach on the Statistic for Students class of SMP in the odd semester. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews. Instrument test through lecturer validation and data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the material experts' scores obtained an average score of 83.333 with a good category. The media expert's judgment scored 111.667 with a very good category. The students' responses to the module received a score of 115.842 with the good category. Based on these calculations' results, the mathematics module developed possible use in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Based on the information from SMA Negeri 1 Turi, student motivation in learning is still lacking, there are students who spoke with the classmate during the teaching and learning activities, as well as some students learning intensity is low. This study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between motivation to learn, peers and learning intensity with mathematics learning outcomes in class X SMA Negeri 1 Turi Odd Semester of the school year 2016/2017. The study population was all students in grade X SMAN 1 Turi MIPA odd semester of the school year 2016/2017. The study was taking the  X MIPA 2 class as the research sample by random sampling technique toward the class. Data collection techniques in the form of technique tests and questionnaires. The research instrument test was using validity testing, different power testing, and reliability testing. Prasyarat test analysis included a normality test, independent test, linearity test. Analysis of the data for testing hypotheses was using correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between motivation to learn, peers and intensity of learning with learning outcomes mathematics, with   , and the linear regression equation . The donations were measured relatively X1 = , X2 = , X3 =  and also effective contribution X1 = , X2 = , X3 = . This indicates that the peers (X2) have a greater relationship with mathematics learning outcomes compared to the study motivation (X1) with mathematics learning outcomes and learning intensity (X3) with mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The average of mathematics learning outcomes in students class VIII of State Junior High School 2 Kasihan (SMP Negeri 2 Kasihan) is below the minimum score. The purpose of this research is to study the influences of time management and interpersonal skill on mathematics learning outcomes in students class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Kasihan in the odd semester of the 2016/2017 academic year. The population of this research is 135 students of class VIIIA-D of SMP Negeri 2 Kasihan. Random Sampling used to take the sample data, classes B and D are the class sample, and class A is the test class. The instrument used is questionnaires time management, questionnaires interpersonal skills, and mathematic exam cases. Every device being studied through validation tests, rehabilitation tests, and especially discrimination power used to study the mathematic exam case instrument. After all the data being collected, a further study being held through the normality test and homogeneity test. From now on, the hypothetical test being held with the factorial design of 2  2. In the end, the ANAVA test also being conducted through t-test and Least Significant Different (LSD) to compare the highest and lowest average of every instrument. The result of this research is: (1) There is an influence of time management on mathematic learning outcomes in students class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Kasihan in the odd semester of 2016/2017 academic year with the  is = 9,5073 >  = 3,986 in the 5% significance. (2)  There is an influence of interpersonal skill on mathematic learning outcomes in students class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Kasihan in the odd semester of 2016/2017 academic year with the  is = 4,6077 ≥  = 3,986 in the 5% significance. (3) There is an influence of time management and interpersonal skill on mathematic learning outcomes in students class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Kasihan in the odd semester of 2016/2017 academic year with the >  is = 4.0858 ≤   in the 5% significance.

Abstract

Teacher-centered learning results in students being less responsible for learning. Therefore, there is a need for individual efforts to improve the student's learning responsibility. This study aims to improve the Responsibility of learning mathematics by using the Reciprocal Teaching model on the students of class X OA Semester Even Vocational High School (SMK) Yudha Karya Magelang academic year 2014/2015. This research is a research type of Classroom Action Research (CAR). Subjects in this study were students of class X OA, even semester SMK Yudha Karya Magelang academic year 2014/2015.In comparison, the object under study in this research is applying the Reciprocal Teaching model on the students of class X OA Semester Even SMK Yudha Karya Magelang academic year 2014/2015. The study was conducted two cycles from three planned cycles. Data were collected by observation method, questionnaire, repeat test. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the Reciprocal Teaching model on the students of class X OA Semester Even SMK Yudha Karya Magelang academic year 2014/2015 increase the Responsibility of learning. This is evident from the observation result of students' learning responsibility every cycle has increased: the percentage of success of students' learning in cycle I equal to 52,08% (Enough). In cycle II, this increased to 80,03% (Very Good). The percentage of students who completed each cycle also increased the cycle I obtained by 37.93%. The second cycle increased to 68.97% in the second cycle.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are determined by many factors. Allegedly students’ learning motivation and attention are several factors that affect students learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine whether there is a positive and significant influence between learning motivation and students’ attention toward mathematics learning outcomes in the first semester of VIII grade students SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this research was the students of VIII grade in SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2016/2017, consisted of class  VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D, VIII E, VIII F, VIII G totaling 234 students. Samples were taken from VIII B as the research sample class and with the random sampling technique. The writer uses a questionnaire method to collect the data of learning motivation, attention of students and the resulting learning of math. The research instrument: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Test requirement analysis includes a test of normality, the test of independence, and a test of linearity. The writer uses product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the data. The results showed that there was a significant and positive influence between learning motivation and the attention of students towards mathematics learning outcomes in students class VIII in even Semester of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2016 / 2017.
