Abstract

In research aims to understand an increase in creativity learn math to their students class vii the first half odd SMP Negeri 3 Sentolo in the academic year of 2016 / 2017. This research uses a method of guided discovery. The subject at this research is a student VII B SMP Negeri 3 Sentolo Kabupaten Kulon Progo in the academic year of 2016 / 2017 which consisted of 16 students' son and 14 students' daughter. Technique data collection it will be a method of observation, interview, documentation, and tests the discussion. Obtained the average the percentage creativity to study for students from the results of sheets of observation in cycle I of 29,79 % in the less. Cycle II increased by 61.71% in both categories and the average percentage of classical and exhaustiveness of test results of 46.667%. Cycle III increased by 79.21% in both categories and the average percentage of classical and exhaustiveness of test results of 80.000%. According to the interviews students and teachers showed a positive response from students and teachers.

Abstract

This research is based on the unavailability of student worksheets as one of the learning resources. Saturation and lack of skilled students doing exercise questions. SW that used realistic concept and Islamic nuance is one alternative to reduce the problem. This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of Student Worksheet (SW) based on realistic and nuances Islamic in the social arithmetic subject for class VII Junior High School (SMP/MTs). This research method used Research and Development (R & D) covering the stage of preparation, implementation, testing, and revision. Material experts and media experts do SW validation. The subjects of the study were students of grade VII SMP / MTs. The instrument used is a questionnaire instrument—the analysis technique used qualitative descriptive analysis. The result of the research and development of SW shows that the material expert's assessment obtained a 75,5 score with a very good criterion, from media expert 78,3 with good criterion. The result of student response to SW is good, with a scoring average of 60,19. Based on the above, it can be concluded that SW is based on realistic and nuances Islamic in the social arithmetic subject for class VII SMP / MTs, both used as teaching materials in the learning process.

Abstract

The availability of teaching materials based on the 2013 curriculum to facilitate students to self-study actively and independently is still limited. The quadrilateral and triangle material math modules are some of the alternative teaching materials used to actively facilitate active learning. This study aims to develop a quadrilateral and triangle material mathematical module for students of class VII SMP / MTs based on the 2013 curriculum and know the feasibility of modules developed based on material experts, media experts, and student responses. This research type is the research of development, in the form of math material module of quadrilateral and triangle for class VII student of Junior High School (SMP/MTs) based on curriculum 2013. In developing this module, the researcher refers to the model development of ADDIE covering five stages: analysis, design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The instruments used in this research are the assessment sheets for the material expert, the assessment sheet for the media expert, and the student response questionnaire. This study's subjects are material experts, media experts, and students of SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta and MTs Muhammadiyah Karangkajen. Data collection technique collection in the form of interviews and questionnaires. The results of this research and development show that the module. The mathematics developed included in the category is very well based questionnaire assessment by a material expert with a score of 136,67; Questionnaire assessment by experts media with a score of 126,33; and average student response results in this study is 130,05. The assessment results show that the mathematics module quadrilateral and triangular materials for grade VII students of SMP / MTs based on the 2013 curriculum are worthy of use in the learning process.

Abstract

Lack of understanding of a concept would affect student learning outcomes, especially in mathematics. That matter which led to lower student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the differences in the ability of understanding mathematical concepts that use model-eliciting Activities and cooperative learning model of problem-solving as well as to compare the effectiveness of the model-eliciting Activities and cooperative learning model of problem-solving on the ability of understanding mathematical concepts at eleven grade of TKJ’s student in SMK Negeri 2 Depok Yogyakarta of even semester at academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this study is a class XI TKJ SMK Negeri 2 Depok Yogyakarta. Selection of the sample by means of a non-probability sampling with purposive technique, the sample selection based on objective and specific considerations. The sample in this research is class XI TKJ A as an experimental class 1 and class XI TKJ B as the experimental class 2. Of each class of samples taken 5 students for a testing-grade. The research design in this study is non-equivalent (pretest-posttest) Control-Group Design. The data collection method is a method of documentation and tests. The instrument was a matter of the description. Test data collection instruments used validity and test data analysis used reliability. The analysis of the data is the prerequisite test analysis including normality test and homogeneity test; and hypothesis testing using t-test. The result of the research on the significance level on 5% and df  = 52 indicates that: (1) There is the difference between the ability to understand mathematical concepts in learning that uses the model-eliciting activities with learning that uses the cooperative model of the problem-solving type. It can be seen that  greater than . (2) Learning mathematics students who use model-eliciting activities more effective than learning using a cooperative learning model of the problem-solving type. It can be seen that  greater than .

Abstract

Mathematics is a basic science that has an important role in the development of science and technology. With the intensity of continuous mathematics learning, students should be able to master these subjects well. However, in reality, there are still many students dents who think that mathematic are complicated subjects with the application of formulas and calculation, students are less interested in mathematics, the level of student activity in mathematics learning is still lacking, the student is afraid to ask a question and express opinions, lack of student responsibility for the assignment given. This research aims to obtain a description of the application of cooperative learning of Think Pair Share (TPS) to improve student activity in class X Animation State Vocational High School(SMK Negeri) 3 Kasihan Bantul. This research is a classroom action research, which refers to the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart's design, those are (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. This research consists of two cycles, and each of the cycles was held in two meetings. The research subjects in this research are students of class X animation SMK Negeri 3 Kasihan Bantul, amounting to 31 people. This research object is learning mathematics using the cooperative learning model of think pair share—data collection techniques gained through observation, learning outcomes test, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research is qualitative descriptive. The result of this research, including that through applying cooperative learning of think pair share, can improve student activity of the system of three variable linear equations in class X animation SMK Negeri 3 Kasihan Bantul. The first cycle's student activity is 54,84% (enough category), and in the second cycle, it increases to 69,35% (good category).

Abstract

Learning mathematics is still considered difficult by most students, so the impact on learning outcomes. The lack of seriousness and independence of learning, reasoning ability is still low, and not all families have an adequate learning environment and conducive are several factors that may affect learning. Therefore, this study was conducted in order to determine whether or not a positive and significant between the relationship among learning independence, reasoning ability and learning environment at home with students mathematics learning outcomes in class XI TKJ of even semester in SMK Negeri 1 Pleret Bantul Regency at Academic Year 2015/2016. The population of this research was all students of class XI TKJ of even semester in SMK Negeri 1 Pleret Bantul in the academic year 2015/2016 consisting of 2 classes. As a sample class was class XI TKJ B by random sampling technique to the class. The data collection technique was performed by a method of testing and questionnaires. The questionnaire method used collection data learning independence and learning environment at home, as well as the test method used collection data on reasoning ability and mathematics learning the result of the student. Test data analysis requirements using the test for normality, independent, and the test for linearity. Data analysis for hypothesis testing using correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. The research result showed that there was a significant positive correlation between learning independence, reasoning ability and learning environment at home with students mathematics learning outcomes with  > . Abstract

The misconception is a condition where a student has a misunderstanding in comprehending a particular concept of what is meant to be. It raised when a student was gaining a new concept, namely in learning math, specifically in algebra operation. To know the misconceptions can be detected by using the Certainty of Response Index (CRI). This study aims to know the students' misconceptions and their causes in algebra operation of the 8th grade of SMP N 2 Bantul. This study is qualitative research. The subject of the study is the 8th grade of class C in SMP N 2 Bantul 2016/2017. The object of the study is the student's misconceptions in algebra operation. The data collection technique is in the form of a test based on the CRI and an interview. The data analysis used reduction, data presentation, and data inversion and verification. The results show that 53% of the students know the concept of algebra operation, 20% of the students only guesting, 15% do not know the concept, and 12% have misconceptions. Within the 12%, the misconceptions can be mention as follows (1) in the concept of formulating simple algebra and fraction algebra into its factors; (2) in the concept of the operation of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in the form of simple algebra and fraction algebra. The causes of this misconceptions are (1a) the student's low comprehension, (1b) the student's incomplete information, (1c) the student's low motivation to learn is not fully understood yet; (2a) the wrong intuition or opinion, (2b) The student's cognitive condition that remains in concrete.

Abstract

The approach to learning mathematics used in class X of SMA Negeri 1 Prambanan 2018/2019 academic year is still not encouraging students to take an active part in learning activities, allegedly to be one of the causes of the lack of students' mathematical problem-solving skills. This study aims to improve mathematical problem-solving skills by applying the Guided Discovery Model with the Krulik and Rudnick Heuristic Approach to the inequalities of two variables. This type of research is Clas Action research Research (CAR). This study's subject was students of class X Science Mathematics (MIPA) 4 State Senior High School (SMA Negeri) Prambanan 1 the Academic year 2018/2019 with 32 students. Simultaneously, the object in this study is the whole process of applying the Guided Discovery Model with the Krurik and Rudnik Heuristic Approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through student observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. Instrument data collection in the form of observation sheets, the completion of practice questions of students' mathematical problem-solving skills, and the results of interviews. Test instruments are used in the form of validation. Technical data analysis uses descriptive methods. This study's results indicate that applying the Guided Discovery Model with the Heuristic Approach Type Krulik and Rudnik can improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills. The improvement of students 'mathematical problem-solving skills can be seen from the average results of completing the practice questions of students' mathematical problem-solving skills from the Low category with 29.34% in the first cycle to Very High 80.816% in cycle II.

Abstract

The lack of students' creativity and reasoning ability in the mathematics lesson in Grade VIII of State Junior High School 3 Kasihan Bantul (SMP Negeri 3 Kasihan Bantul) of the academic year 2016/2017 is due to frequent students. They are reluctant to ask, even though the explanation of mathematics subject material presented by the teacher has not been understood. This study aims to determine whether or not there the influence of students' creativity and reasoning skills on the algebra test result of year VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Kasihan Bantul Semester 1 2016/2017 academic year. The population in this research, there are five classes. The samples are taken two classes by random sampling technique and VII C as a first-class and VII D as a second class. Techniques for collecting data use non-test and test. The research instrument is a reasoning skill reasoning test, multiple-choice learning test, and student creativity questionnaire. Instrument-tests include validity tests, different capacity, and reliability. Techniques for analyzing data use prerequisite test analysis consist of normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing use t-test and LSD test. The results show that (1) Thereof and 6, with  on the significant level 5%,  df :  and . Based on t-test calculation obtained  =  and  (58) = 1,67193 which mean (58) it can be concluded that the creativity of low students has more influence on learning outcomes. Based on t-test calculation obtained  = dan (58) = 1,67193  that means (60) it can be concluded that high reasoning ability has more influence on learning outcomes. Abstract

A learning model that focuses on the teacher resulted in the students more passive in following the teaching and learning activities, especially math lessons, so that teaching and learning activities are still less satisfactory. This affects students' mathematics learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on grade VIII students' mathematics learning outcomes. This study's population is the students of class VIII Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah Pleret 2016 school year consisting of 4 classes. The sampling technique used the purposive sampling technique and obtained class VIII D as experiment class and class VIII C as control class. The method of collecting data is done by the test method. The data analysis technique uses a prerequisite analysis test, including normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis tests. The research results obtained that (1) there are differences in learning outcomes between learning mathematics using Problem Based Learning model learning with Direct Learning model. This is based on the two-party hypothesis test obtained and   with 5% significant level and degrees of freedom, respectively , and , which means , so H0 is accepted, and H1 is rejected. (2) Learning mathematics using Problem Based Learning model is more influential than the Direct Learning model toward the mathematics learning result of the VIII student of SMP Muhammadiyah Pleret of the academic year 2016/2017. This is indicated by a one-sided hypothesis test obtained  and  with a significant level of 5% and degrees of freedom, respectively  and  which means  so H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected
