Abstract

The ability to solve problems is one of the 21st-century skills that students master. In school, there are various cognitive styles in solving math problems. So it is necessary to describe the problem-solving skills of students of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 3 Kasihan Bantul class VIII in terms of the cognitive style of field-dependent (FD) and field independent (FI) of the academic year 2017/2018.  This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject of research consists of 2 students whose cognitive style FD and two students cognitive FI style. The instrument used in this research consists of the main instrument that is self-researcher. The auxiliary instruments are Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT) and Problem Solving Testing (TKPM). For data collection techniques used are GEFT, TKPM, and interviews. To obtain data consistency, used technique triangulation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the subject of FD tends to think globally in solving the problem. Subjects have used three problem-solving indicators: understanding the problem by repeated reading, planning by analyzing, implementing plans that have been prepared to get the results of completion, and drawing conclusions. At the same time, the subject of FI is more analytical in solving the problem. The subject has used three troubleshooting indicators, understood the problem by repeated reading, drafted a settlement plan from the information obtained, executed the plan developed to get the result of completion, and drew conclusions. The subject of FD and FI equally did not re-examine the answer.

Abstract

Kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran yang hanya mengahafal konsep dan kurang mampu menggunakan konsep tersebut jika menemui masalah dalam kehidupan nyata dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Perbedaan hasil belajar matematika siswa yang mendapat model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe problem based instruction dan siswa yang mendapat pengajaran dengan model pembelajaran langsung siswa kelas VIII semester ganjil SMP N 3 Kasihan tahun ajaran 2015/2016, (2) efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe problem based instruction dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung pada siswa kelas VIII semester ganjil SMP N 3 Kasihan tahun ajaran 2015/2016.Jenis penelitian dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII Semester Ganjil SMP N 3 Kasihan tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan random sampling terhadap kelas, terambil kelas VIII D sebagai kelas Eksperimen dan VIII B sebagai kelas Kontrol. Teknik Pengumpulan data dengan metode dokumentasi dan tes. Uji instrumen menggunakan uji validitas soal dengan rumus korelasi product moment, reliabilitas menggunakan rumus Alpha, dan daya beda menggunakan rumus daya beda soal uraian. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t, uji normalitas menggunakan rumus Chi-Kuadrat, dan uji homogenitas menggunakan  uji Barlett.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini pada taraf signifikan 5% dan derajat kebebasan 48, maka diperoleh : (1) dan  sehingga  maka ada perbedaan hasil belajar matematika siswa yang mendapatkan pengajaran model pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction (PBI) dan siswa yang menggunakan model pengajaran langsung (2) dan  sehingga  maka model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Problem Based Instruction (PBI) lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan model pengajaran langsung terhadap hasil belajar matematika Kata kunci : efektivitas, Problem Based Instruction, hasil belajar

Abstract

Development of Mathematics Module Based on ARIAS Model on the Material of Algebraic Form For Junior High School Grade VII 1ST Semester. The problems that were found are limited availability of teaching materials causes the learning process to be less varied and teacher-centered, so the student's independence and activeness in building their knowledge below. This research aims to develop, test the modules' feasibility, and determine student responses to modules with the ARIAS model on algebraic form material. The research design used is Research and Development. The research subject is material experts, media experts, and students from Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah 04 Yogyakarta and SMPN 03 Pleret. Data collection techniques were used through interviews and questionnaires with teachers and students. The instrument was tested through validation from material experts and media experts. Data analysis used questionnaire analysis and analysis of the feasibility of the mathematics module. The results showed that the module's assessment by material experts obtained an average score of 106,33 with very good. The module's assessment by media experts obtained an average score of 131 with thry good. The student's response obtained an average score of 114,83 with the category of very good. Based on the calculations' results, it can be concluded that the mathematics module was feasible to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

Low students, the results of learning, are associated with many factors. Learning motivation, learning facilities, and learning independence are factors that have a relationship with the learning results. This study aims to determine whether or not a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation, learning facilities, and independence of learning with the results of learning mathematic students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem Sleman second Semester Teaching Year 2016/2017. The population in this study comprises students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem Sleman District second Semester of the academic year 2016/2017 consisting of 4 classes with a total of 151 students. Random sampling techniques took the experimental class and the sample class to the class. They obtained the trial class VIII A and VIII D as the sample class. The test and questionnaire method do the technique of collecting data. Test the instrument using the validity test, the test of different power, and reliability test. Test prerequisite analysis that is normality test, independent test, and linearity test. Data analysis for hypothesis testing using correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation, learning facilities, and learning independence with mathematics learning results with Fcount = 6,7209 and Ftable = 2,8826, so that obtained Fcount> Ftable. Coefficient of double correlation (R) equal to 0,6102 and coefficient of determination (R2) equal to 0,3723 with linear regression equation that is Ŷ = 10,1472 + 0,3886X1+ 0,2961X2+ 0,1626X3. Relative contribution X1 that is equal to 59,0770%, X2 equal to 29,3821% and X3 equal to 11,5409% and effective contribution X1 equal to 21,9921%, X2 that is equal to 10,9379% and X3 that is equal to 4,2962%.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the positive and significant relationship of mathematical communication and learning motivation to the problem-solving skills of Grade X Science Class Students at SMA Pondok Pesantren Modern Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2018/2019. This is quantitative research. The research subjects are the Grade X of Science 4 Class Students at SMA Pondok Pesantren Modern Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta in 2018/2019, as many as 36 people. The data is obtained through a test and questionnaire. The implemented instrument tests are validity and reliability test. The data analyzed using the descriptive method, statistical test, and hypothesis test. The result of the t-test on variable X1 toward Y with value > table or 1.77102 > 1.69092 shows a positive and significant relationship of mathematical communication to students' problem-solving skills. The result of t-test X2 toward Y with value > ttable or 2.29088 > 1.69092 shows a positive and significant relationship of learning motivation to students' problem-solving skills. The result of F-test X1, X2 toward Y with Fvalue > Ftable or 3.36743 > 3.28492 shows that there is a positive and significant relationship of mathematical communication and learning motivation to students' problem-solving skill.

Abstract

 This research was done because the results of students' mathematics learning are still relatively low. Students are reluctant to ask about the material they have not understood that the learning outcomes obtained less optimal. This research aims to determine the results of learning mathematics using of cooperative learning model type of NHT (Numbered Heads Together) of student grade VIII at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan Sleman Regency of Even Semester in Academic Year of 2015/2016. This was design is Posttest-Only Control Design. The population in this research were students class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan Sleman Regency. Samples of this research using random sampling techniques derived from class VIII A as an experimental class and VIII C as the control class. The data collection is done with the test method. A testing instrument using a validity test and reliability test. Data were analyzed before using hypothesis testing with a t-test first using analysis prerequisite test including normality test, and homogeneity test. Based on calculations by the significant level   and the degrees of freedom 65, we concluded that: (1) There are differences in learning outcomes of students learning math using cooperative learning model type of NHT with learning using conventional learning model. This is indicated by the results of the first test of the hypothesis that  and , so that . (2) The type of cooperative learning model NHT more effective than the conventional learning model. Abstract

The activity of students when lessons in class are still lacking. Some of his students still consider mathematics a difficult subject to understand. The students tend to be passive when the lesson takes place; they just sit back and accept the material presented by the teacher. This study aims to improve students' activeness in learning mathematics using Snowball Throwing (ST) model. This study is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles. The subject of this research is the students of class VIII C SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta academic year 2016/2017. This research aims to increase student activeness in learning mathematics by using the Snowball Throwing model. Data collection techniques include observation, unstructured interviews, and diagnostic tests. The success criterion in this research is marked by the increase in the average student activity percentage of at least 61% or good. The results showed that using the model learning model of Snowball Throwing can improve students' activity in learning mathematics. This is seen as an increase in the percentage of student's activity is 56.32% with sufficient criteria in cycle I and increased in the second cycle of 71.75% with Good criteria.

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes are related to many factors. Learning Independence, Parenting Parents and the Learning Environment in Schools are several factors that are thought to be related to learning outcomes. This study aims to determine whether or not there is a positive and significant relationship between learning independence, parenting parents and the learning environment in schools with mathematics learning outcomes for students of class VIII SMP N 15 Yogyakarta odd semester 2016/2017 academic year. The population in this study were eighth-grade students of SMP N 15 Yogyakarta in the 2016/2017 school year, consisting of classes VIII F, VIII G, VIII H, VIII I, VIII J, with a total of 167 students. Samples were taken from class VIII H as a class of research samples with random sampling techniques to the class .. Data collection techniques using questionnaires to obtain data on learning independence, parenting parents and learning environment at school, as well as test methods to obtain data on mathematics learning outcomes. Research instrument test: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Analysis prerequisite tests include normality test, linearity test, and independence test. Data analysis uses product moment analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between learning independence, parenting parents, and the learning environment at school with mathematics learning outcomes for students of class VIII SMP N 15 Yogyakarta Odd Semester 2016/2017 Academic Year. Abstract

Rapid technological developments, make innovation development of instructional media of mathematics as a tool for learning. Media developed learning because students are still challenging to understand the material system of linear equations, so that the need for renewable innovations in mathematics for students in learning to overcome boredom. The use of laboratory and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is still not widely used in learning mathematics. This study aims to develop teaching media in the form of interactive media using Macromedia Flash 8 in the learning of mathematics in SMK on the material of the Two-Variable Linear Equations System and test the feasibility. This study focused on developing mathematics learning media packaged in a Compact Disc (CD). The development of research using (Research and Development). The subject of research is matter experts, media experts, and National Vocational High School Berbah (SMK Nasional Berbah) and Muhammadiyah Vocational High School 3 Yogyakarta (SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta). Learning media is validated by three votes materials experts, three expert media, and the subject of the trial of 10 students on a test smaller classes. All students in the pilot class of high use assessment instruments or sheets instrument quality research materials and instructional media student response. Data analysis techniques use qualitative analysis that is converted into quantitative value. Data collection techniques in the form of interviews, questionnaires, and observations. This research has succeeded in developing a medium of mathematics learning that has quality on every aspect of assessment with an average score of 76,67 material experts with good criteria and an average score of expert media assessment 40,33 with Very Good criteria. While the score of student response 69,74 with the score on the small class test and big class test with good criterion. Based on these assessments, this math learning media is worthy of being used as a learning resource for students.

Abstract

Low students' learning outcomes are related to many factors. Learning activities, peer environment, and interest in learning are among them. This study aims to determine whether there are positive and significant relations between learning activity, peer environment. Interest in learning and mathematics learning outcomes of grade X Office Administration students of Vocational High School (SMK) Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta in the odd semester of the academic year of 2017/2018. This study's population were regular grade X Office Administration students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta in 2017/2018, consisting of two classes with 58 students. A random sampling technique was applied to take this research sample, a grade X Office Administration student's class 2. The data on learning activity, peer environment, and interest to learn were obtained through questionnaires. At the same time, the data of the mathematics learning outcomes were obtained through the test. The research instruments were tested using a validity test, differential test, and reliability test. Analysis prerequisite tests include normality, linearity, and independence test. Product moment and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The results show that there are not positive and significant relations between learning activity, peer environment. Interest to learn with mathematics learning outcomes of grade X Office Administration students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta in the odd semester of the academic year of 2017/2018.
