Abstract

Analysis of data seismic attributes used in the Basin of Nova-Scotia, Canada. This analysis aimed to determine the distribution of reservoir and reservoir characterization. Seismic attribute used the instantaneous attributes which included instantaneous amplitude, instantaneous frequency and instantaneous phase while for reservoir characterization used crossplot between instantaneous attributes with well log data. The attribute ran on specified target zone, the attribute analysis to determine the distribution of the reservoir. Crossplot conducted to determine the characteristics or physical properties of the reservoir in the target zone. Furthermore, lithologic and stratigraphic analysis to determine the geological conditions of the target zone. The study was conducted in inline and crossline of Logan Canyon formations. Research results obtained in the form of small fractures that are not visible and the two major faults with direction Northwest-Southeast and has the attributes of instantaneous output value is low. This fault is also the location of a distribution reservoir contained in the target zone. For the reservoir characteristics such as porosity and acoustic impedance range of values obtained respectively, so it can be said that the target zone is dominated by a sandstone reservoir form.

Abstract

Naturally hydrophobic films is currently receiving a lot of attention and has inspired efforts to create biomimetic surfaces. Application technology can be used as a water repellent coatings, for glass at a solar cell that can clean independently, so the use of outdoor solar cell can be used in a relative long period of time. In this study, the silica sol is made by making a solution of Na Silicate at 7%. and for the stabilization solution is used 1 M citric acid solution until a pH of about 2. Glass hydrophobic obtained by film coating on the glass test by means of dip coating, silica sol used is stabilized silica sol, glass coated silica sol are soaked in a surface-modifying agent that is TEOS, methanol, and n hexane in the ratio 1: 1: 1 volume ratio. The goal of treatment is to form silanol groups on the silica surface. The best hydrophobicity properties obtained on condition of Na silicate 7%, the modification time 2 hours at a temperature of 300C, the contact angle (Ө) of 128.40. The results of the study when compared to heating without microwave which takes 7 hours at 500C in terms of aspects of energy consumption, the use of the microwave can save energy by almost 85% to earn hydrophobic movie characters.

Abstract

The protein content in the wastewater tempe high enough. Filtration of tempe wastewater  can use cellulose acetate membranes. Type cellulose acetate membranes used is ultrafiltration membranes. Pressure and protein concentration influenced on the flux, rejection, and fouling resistance. Membrane characteristics included flux, pore asymmetries, time compaction and permeability coefficient. The results showed that fouling resistance is influenced by the pressure and concentration of the feed solution. The higher the pressure will cause increased fouling resistance, while higher concentrations will cause fouling resistance decreases. The pressure and the higher the concentration of protein causes rejection decreasedFiltration of Protein in Tempe Wastewater Using Cellulose Acetate Membrane

Abstract

Nonlinear equation is a mathematical problem that is quite difficult to solve. Its analytic solution is not easily discovered. There are several methods used to solve nonlinear equations and the obtained results is in the form of approximation to the analytical solution. Most of the numerical method need appropriate initial value to perform the accuration of the method. However, it will diverge if the initial value is inappropriate. Therefore, we propose discovering the solutions of nonlinear equations by applying metaheuristic methods. In this paper, we present the virus Evolutionary Genetic Algorithm (VEGA) combined with Zero Crossing Method at an early stage to solve nonlinear equations. This study was conducted to test the performance and accuracy of the combined both of the method by providing some examples.

Abstract

Water is the most important element of the natural resources so that water pollution is a serious threat to thewell-being of the earth and its inhabitants. River water as a source of important functions in the community is needed buthuman can cause water pollution. The purposes of this study are to determine the public perception of maintainingcleanliness, pollution behavior in the Brantas riverbasin, and the relationship between perception and behavior. The methodused is a closed interview in accidental sampling technique. The respondents are people who live in the Brantas riverbank,Malang. Data were tested using Spearman correlation test because the data were not normally distributed. Spearmancorrelation of test results obtained significance value of 0.996 means that the public perception does not correlate with thebehavior of pollution in the Brantas River basin. Conclusions of this research are that public perception agree maintainingcleanliness, communities near Brantas riverbank often behave to pollute the river, and there is no correlation between theperception and behavior of river pollution by communities around the Brantas riverbank in Malang.

Abstract

Mount of Burni Telong located in Bener Meriah, Aceh, Indonesia is one of the mountains that have the potential for development of renewable energy from geothermal sources, but is still untapped. The evidence suggests that, to date Aceh still depends on power supplies from North Sumatra. This dependence often affects alternate electricity blackouts all over the province so that the necessary rationale for their source of power generation in Aceh. The purpose of this study was to analyze the potential development of Burni Telong as geothermal energy power plant in Aceh, Indonesia. This study was a survey with the approach in the field of geophysics. Analysis of potential geothermal done using the gravity method to investigate the distribution of mass in the subsurface. The study found that there are two tracks, namely: A-A' and B-B track'. A-A' tracks has four layers, composed of: Riolitic Tuff (1.77g/cm3), basaltic Tuff (2:12 gr/cm3), Diorites (2.78 gr/cm3),and basalt (3:00 gr/cm3). B-B' tracks has three layers, namely: Basaltic Tuff (2.12 gr/cm3); Diorites (2,78 gr/cm3), and basalt (3.00 gr/cm3). In both of these trajectories found two faults, namely: normal and Horst. It can be concluded that the difference in density contrast and hot springs that are parallel to the fault indicates a fault in Burni-Telong, so Burni Telong has the potential Geothermal and very likely to be developed as a source of electricity generation from geothermal energy in Aceh, Indonesia.

Abstract

Corporate financial scandals and recent financial crises have significantly affected economies and companies worldwide, which renewed emphasis on corporate governance. Mostly, financial performance is still widely used tool for fundamental analysis. This exploratory qualitative research evaluated the corporate governance practices and financial performance of selected publicly listed Philippine hotels in order to present future researches on corporate governance. It discussed the corporate-governance practices of Philippine companies as determined by the OECD scorecard. The financial-performance dimension in comparison to industry average is independently computed. Results showed that publicly listed hotels were not widely held by public investors, the presence of the RPTs that can be classified as financial assistance to entities other than wholly owned subsidiary companies, the need for improvements of environmentally friendly value chains, the nonpublication of relevant information on training and development programs for its employees, and the nondisclosure of the attendance of members of the board of directors in their meetings. Recommendations for future researches were provided.

Abstract

The poverty indicator is not only a result of shortcomings in meeting minimum physical needs, but also because of low accessibility to infrastructure provision, including clean water or drinking water. Indonesia has a policy to meet the access of safe drinking water. The coverage of drinking water services in Indonesia is still low (less than 50%) and it requires the acceleration of Drinking Water Supply System (DWSS) development to achieve 100% of the target of National Medium Term Development Plan and the target of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2019. Therefore, a specific study is needed to see the implementation of drinking water supply system (DWSS) in the era of regional autonomy in order to achieve 100% safe drinking water supply. The method of analysis used is descriptive method by exploring the existing condition in the provision of drinking water based on secondary data and by analyzing regulation in the implementation of water supply.
