BBR provide a forum for lecturers, academicians, researchers, practitioners, and postgraduate students to publish empirical multidiscipline research in business & management research, from operations to corporate governance and marketing. Abstract

SMEC has high durability against any unpleasant economic conditions. Moreover, SMALL MEDIUM ENTERPRISES of batik has had the ability to produce export and derived foreign exchange for the country. It is important to continue to do the construction and development of batik industry competitiveness in order to compete in this era of free trade. The purpose of this research is to find a development Model as an integrated system capability of integrating Indonesian batik business, which is  supported by the existing infrastructure so that it is capable of being one of the pre-eminent business typical batik Indonesia which has been recognized as one of the world heritage of Indonesian as a nation. Methods the study was a qualitative Method to find the organization model and hybrid formulation of e community system to support collaboration among organizations. This research has enabled independent business group supported a Hybrid organization building strength together in the era of globalization based on Electronic Community System that is driven by each component in the Hybrid Organization.

Abstract

Strategy is needed to sustainable business the year to come. This study is a descriptive case study using primary and secondary data which was collected from interviews, observations and literatures. Through a development strategy will be found various strategy which could be applicable by a company. The purpose of this research is to identify and evaluate the internal and external strategically factors of the company in UKM and to formulate several strategy alternatives applicable in developing UKM business develop program. Based on the TOWS matrix analysis, six alternatives strategies were produced, which includes having the own bakery shop, expanding partnership with bakeries in the jabodetabek area, implementing a differentiation products, increasing marketing activities, purposing bank loan, and investing on right equipment. After defining the conclusion, it is expected that UKM business, especially food industry, could use them to develop their business.

Abstract

The changing of financial accounting standard into International Financial Report Standard (IFRS) is the headline for all accountants, for professional public, company and academic accountants. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the curriculum of vocational high school (SMK) accounting major in the advance of applying IFRS. The method used is descriptive explorative approach. This research started through library research, interview with teachers, hold trainings and questionnaire, and analyze the activities. The result showed that SMK in accounting major is not ready yet for the advance of IFRS convergence in 2012, so does the knowledge socialization among teachers and instructors. The researcher recommended holding the preparation for PSAK in IFRS convergence curriculum-based (in cooperation with fostering directorate of vocational high school), training for teachers, arranging accounting books or modules, and adding subjects about IFRS for opening knowledge.

Abstract

PT PLN (Persero) is a state owned which manages the biggest electricity businesses that cover the entire territory of Indonesia. His position is very potential for the Indonesian public life requires that PLN is able to manage the investment means the supply of electricity to customers. This is done with the information systems that support business processes in the body of PLN. PT PLN (Persero) has some application systems, infrastructure, service, and management used to increase the ability of the company. In PLN, there is an application that is capable of supporting PLN to conduct the procurement process is procurement information system (e-procurement). PSI Sub-party service providers as e-procurement to see investment information system (SI) and Information Technology (IT) which is proportional to the amount issued benefits and bottom-line impact for companies and can find out the level of funds / investment budgets and alignment of Information Technology there is a project in accordance with company requirements. Those needs based on business needs and applications currently running in the intersection so as to project better. Based on this, the author proposes to analyze the benefits of information technology investments by using the method of New Information Economics (NIE) that combines the two approaches both financial and non-financial. In the method NIE (New Information Economics) will be used four of the five practices that NIE Strategic Demand / Supply Planning, Innovation, Prioritization, and Alignment. The results are expected to help the company to allocate investments SI / IT is more appropriate and supports the companys performance, especially in providing added value to the parties concerned.

Abstract

In an organization, decision making hold an important role. That is why a decision made by managers should be a final decision that should be done by their subordinates or those who are related with the organization. In the effort to increase the quality of management information system, a research was held in X Resorts and Hotels Bandung to analyze management information system in the relation to decision making especially in Food and Beverage Service Department and recommendation of how to handle the problem occurred. From the questioner with data analyzing technique of spearman rank gained correlation result 0,84, with determination coefficient 71% which means the management information system has 71% level of influence to decision making, meanwhile the rest of the result (29%) shows other factors, which also were related with the decision making other than management information system. To solve with the problem, it is recommended that X Resorts and Hotels decrease the level of information product error in management information used and fasten the delivery of provided information.

Abstract

Women have a responsibility to meet the basic needs of families, when the husband has not been successful in adequately meeting family needs. Micro credit is taken from the method of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), and applied in Petojo area, Central Jakarta. AIM Registration need women as participants in the micro-credit. This process begins with data collection on testing the ability of debtors, make arrangements for borrowers to work properly and return the loan. Implementation took place in a period of 1 year and micro- credit borrowers are selected from low economy class community. Before granting loans, microcredit and financial records training implementing agencies provide religious discourse about trade. The meeting between executives and micro-credit borrowers are held every week, the show began with a reading of the pledge, read the Koran and religious lectures. The desired results of this activity is full loan repayments, improved morale, improved family economy, but the reality is not as expected, honesty issues, decreased productivity and have became a boomerang for micro credit in Petojo area. Criteria for successful micro-credit application is simple, namely the intention to repay debt with honesty, and good effort in improving the quality of life.

Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to inform the result of research and analysis of financial performace effects to the stock market price done to go public financing companies in 2008-2012. Financial performance was assessed based on annual financial statements published on the website of each company and stock market price from the Stock Exchange’s website by the end of research period. Analysis of the financial performance limited on four financial ratios as representation of its financial ratios, such Current Ratio, Asset Turn Over, Return On Asset, and Debt Ratio. From the research and analysis obtained, there are significant effects from various independent variables to dependend variable, with t value: Current Ratio 0,738, Asset Turn Over 0,121, Return On Asset 0,703, and Debt Ratio 0,374; likewise simultaneously test with F value 0,41. All values showed more than 0,05; that it can be concluded there are significant effects between each independent variable and simultaneously to the dependent variable.

Abstract

Corporate performance is a measure of the level of success in managing resource company to create value for share holders and stakeholders. Many of the companys performance measurement system can be used, but the future of performance measurement systems are no longer limited only to the measurement of financial performance, yet more comprehensive and integrated to non-financial aspects of the coverage of measurements on the internal and external environment. There are three performance measurement system that meets these criteria is the BSC, IPMS, and Prism. This research method is using descriptive method of analysis. This study aims to assess the three systems that get the best system to choose. All three systems have advantages and disadvantages, so the best option is a performance measurement system compatibility with the companyscondition and capabilities of decision makers.

Abstract

Cultural awareness is a basic knowledge that each individuality must has. In hotel industry, there are positive advantages that could be reached if a manager could appreciate a cultural, value, attitude differences of each person. This paper adjusts how important the understanding of cultural diversity and pragmatic implementation from several cross cultural communication theory, especially for managers in hotel industry. This paper also describes examples of cultural attitude and habits from some countries that could be refferences in workforce diversity.
