Abstract

This article examines one of the strategic efforts to prevent the spread of ideology of radicalism and terrorism, even conflict through religious education based on local cultural values as an effort to instill tolerant citizenship attitudes and uphold religious, national and state identities so that they remain inherent among the younger generation. Based on the result of the phenomenological qualitative research as well as interview data and observation on the indigenous peoples of Fakfak regency of west Papua, the local wisdom of “Satu Tungku Tiga Batu” in the multi etnic and multi religious Fakfak indigenous communities is able to internalize its cultural values into cohesive and reflecting values in the character of its strong citizens. Local wisdom “Satu Tungku Tiga Batu” in addition to functioning to maintain harmony and brotherhood, the concept of a three stone furnace also functions as a fakfak community identity that has a tolerant attitude, prioritizes the public interest rather than personal interest, honestly, does not like to interfere in the affairs of others and love one another. Local wisdom based religious education is presented not only in school educational, but also in family and community settings. This is evident from the existence of the people of Fakfak of west Papua who are very tolerant of one another, so that harmony in religious and social life is maintained, even interethnic and interfaith conflicts can be said to never occur.

Abstract

This research is motivated by education in most Muslim countries which are still lagging behind and there is still a dichotomy between Islamic education and secular education. As a result, the Muslim generation has obstacles in contributing to the development of world civilization, which should reflect the Islamic principles of rahmatan lil 'alamin. This is because Islamic education does not adjust to the progress and competition of the times. The epistemological thought of education by Fethullah Gülen tries to provide a solution to this problem by trying to abolish the dichotomy in education by creating an integrated Islamic education system. The purpose of this study is to find out in depth the epistemology of Islamic education from the perspective of Fethullah Gülen and its implementation of integrated Islamic education. The results of this study are: 1) The essence of the epistemology of Gülen's Islamic education is hikma, i.e. being able to combine useful knowledge accompanied by its practice in life; 2) The source of the epistemology of Islamic education comes from the senses, reason and true reports (news) that come from other people or Allah's messengers; 3) The purpose of Islamic education is to create insan kamil who are able to master religious, social and scientific knowledge and practice them in life in order to create a world full of peace and global progress; 4) The integrated Islamic education model according to Fethullah Gülen is similar to the neo-modernism integration model, that is integrating Islamic tradition with the modernity of civilization.

Abstract

Teachers’ competence has been discussed by some Islamic figures as the main indicator in order to formulate the concept of teachers’ personality for teachers in general. However, the indicators that are spesifically for Islamic education teachers have not been discussed yet, so it is important to deepen and specify the study to formulate criteria of the concept of teachers’ personality that mainly focus on Islamic education teachers based on Islamic view. Based on those reasons, the writers are interested in conducting research in the area of the concept of teachers’ personality based on the Kuntowijoyo’s prophetic social science which contains transcendence, humanzation and liberation values. The prophetic social science by kuntowijoyo is formulated based on the surah Ali Imron verse 110. In this research, the writers will focus on the teachers of Islamic religious education (PAI). By using the concept, the research is expected to formulate the indicators for the concept of teachers’ personality which is intended specifically for Islamic religious education teachers. This research uses library research methodology with psychological-pedagogical approach. The main source of the research is the book by Kuntowijoyo with some secondary data sources. The results of the study show that: (1) the concept of teacher’s personality, in the perspective of Islamic education, must refer to the noble morals as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad SAW based on the values of Islamic teachings. (2) the concept of Islamic education teacher’s personality based on Kuntowijoyo’s prophetic social science must include three prophetic values (transcendence, humanist and liberating). So, in order to acquiring the concept of teachers’ personality, it is important for the Islamic education teachers to be transcendence, liberating and humanist as well as emulating the values of Prophet Muhammad. In relation to the current context, this concept can be used as a solution in response to the challenges of Islamic religious education teachers that come from the aspect of the teacher's personality. So, it is hoped that the indicators which is based on kuntowijoyo’s prophetic social science can be used as the formulation for all teachers to upgrade their personality competence, especially for Islamic religious education teachers.

Abstract

In the era of industry 4.0, it is so easy for students to take digital information instantly without any activity to ensure the validity of previous information. This study aims to analyze students' perceptions of digital literacy skills in fiqh learning at State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Ampel Surabaya. This research is qualitative with phenomenological glasses. The informants in this study were 160 students. Brande filled out an online questionnaire through a google form containing statements related to the basic digital literacy skills that have been developed. Then we conducted a semi-structured interview on the informant's answer results directly. The results of the study revealed that students have a good perception of literacy skills. They are ready to use tools to search, dig, select and process information. However, students have not mastered the basic tools for learning fiqh, namely Arabic. Students experience problems when looking for fiqh information in Arabic. The recommendation in this study is that students will not be optimal in fiqh learning if they only have digital literacy skill but the fiqh learning base is not yet qualified. They need a fiqh website that is in Indonesian with credible and valid references.
