Abstract

his study explores the impact of changes in the Manual for Pavement Design (MDPJ) from the 2017 edition to the 2024 edition, published by the Directorate General of Highways (DJBM) in May 2024, using the same secondary data as a comparative approach. The secondary data used in this research is from the Prambanan ”“ Piyungan road section in 2023. This exploration is considered crucial to identify how modifications in the latest design guidelines may influence the final outcomes in road planning, particularly in pavement performance.Using the KENPAVE program, the performance comparison between the two pavement designs is assessed based on predicted vulnerability levels to rutting (Nr), fatigue cracking (Nf), and permanent deformation (Nd). The first predicted failure value is then selected and used as a reference in this study. The comparative analysis results (based on the current study”™s secondary data) indicate that pavement design based on MDPJ 2024 has a lower vulnerability value than MDPJ 2017, with a percentage difference of 5.5%. This study confirms that the updates in the latest design guidelines contribute to improving pavement performance. The findings of this research are expected to support the effective and sustainable implementation of MDPJ 2024 in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Dolok River, which is located between Demak Regency and Semarang Regency,Central Java Province, is widely used by residents to meet their water needs in dailylife. However, as time goes by, pollution occurs which worsens the water quality ofthe Dolok River. One of the contributing factors is the existence of several factoriesand densely populated settlements along the Dolok River. Through this research, researchers intend to determine the division of segments of the Dolok River area, analyze the morphology of the Dolok River, determine the water class of the DolokRiver, predict the potential of water classes for raw water utilization and predict thepotential for raw water supply of Klambu Kudu. The methods used in this researchare the observational study method and the STORET method to determine waterclass. From the results of the analysis, Barang Dam as an upstream river has thecharacteristics of a Barbatu riverbed, relatively small discharge, river erosion andno flooding. Kebon Batur Dam is the middle part of the Dolok river which is atransportation area for erosion from upstream to downstream. Shipping channelsare areas where mud deposits occur, erosion often occurs and causes flooding.Based on the results of field surveys, the morphology of the Dolok River is a braidedtype which generally has relatively small discharge and high levels of sediment. TheDolok River water class calculated using the STORET method is classified as ClassB, namely moderately polluted. Based on the calculation results for determiningwater class by water quality category according to PP No.22 of 2021, the DolokRiver does not have potential as raw water or PDAM drinking water, because it isincluded in the class II category and can only be used as raw water for irrigation at0.52 m3. /sec. Apart from that, there was no potential for raw water supply fromKlambu Kudu to the Dolok River, because it has a different river basin.

Abstract

Klangon - Tempel Road is one of the provincial roads in Sleman Regency,Yogyakarta. The majority of vehicles that pass through this road are heavy vehiclesfrom Semarang to Yogyakarta, including the Jogja - Bawen toll road constructionproject vehicles. The high traffic load is not matched by good road quality, causingdamage to the pavement structure. This study aims to determine the condition of thepavement and provide alternative pavement designs that can withstand traffic loadswell. Evaluation of flexible pavement was carried out using data from the DIYPublic Works Office of Housing and Energy Mineral Resources (PUPSDM DIY).The method used in this research is mechanistic-empirical method of KENPAVEprogram with elastic and viscoelastic modeling. For alternative pavement designusing Bina Marga 2017 method. The results showed that the existing pavement wasnot able to withstand the traffic load during the 10-year plan life, so an alternativedesign was needed. Two alternative pavement thickness designs based on the BinaMarga 2017 method are asphalt pavement with graded foundation layer and CTB.On the existing pavement, elastic modeling has a longer service life thanviscoelastic modeling. The first damage that occurs is permanent deformation, followed by rutting and fatigue cracking. Meanwhile, the alternative pavementproved to be able to withstand the traffic load during the plan life well. Analysis onalternative pavement shows that elastic modeling has better pavement performancethan viscoelastic modeling, with longer service life in resisting damage.

Abstract

The Kali Lamong Project is scheduled to be completed within 35 weeks with acontract value of Rp. 72,000,000,000,-. The purpose of this study is to determinecost and time performance, cost and time estimates at the end of project completionand the factors that cause delays or project progress. The method used in this studyis the Earned Value method which combines the elements of cost and time as well asthe physical performance of the work The data obtained from the project includesthe project time schedule, budget plan (RAB), project weekly reports and actualcosts, then an analysis of costs, schedules, variances and performance indexes iscarried out by explaining the problems that arise during the research. From theresults of the analysis it is known that the costs incurred are lower than thebudgeted costs indicated by the value of CPI = 1.12 and the implementation time isslower than the planned schedule indicated by the value of SPI = 0.71. The resultsof the calculation of the estimated final project cost of Rp. 67,952,500,564.98 withan estimated completion time of 43 weeks, indicating that the project experienced adelay of 8 weeks from the planned 35 weeks. This delay was caused by variousfactors such as delays in the initial erection of the project by a third party, damageto equipment, changes to the drawings by the planning consultant and changes tothe design by the owner.

Abstract

Cost planning is one of the important things in a development project, both for theproject owner and the implementing contractor. The contractor has a planned costtarget at the tender stage, however, changes in costs may occur during theimplementation period due to additional or less work and resulting in changes incosts. To be able to achieve the cost efficiency target, this can be done by carryingout value engineering. The stages of the value engineering method consist of theinformation stage, function analysis stage, creativity stage, evaluation stage, development stage and recommendation stage. The application of value engineeringin the BPOM Building D Construction Project can provide an increase cost and stillmaintain function. Contractor get cost efficiency of IDR 1,528,657,929,- or 2.52%,while the project owner gets a cost efficiency of IDR 1,182,279,319 or 1.66%.

Abstract

This study explores geological and geotechnical factors impacting landslide risk inKaro Regency, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, a region inherently susceptible tolandslides due to its volcanic terrain. Analyzing seven landslide sites, the researchcombines field slope geometry measurements and soil bulk density tests withdetailed laboratory investigations, including Triaxial Unconsolidated Undrained(Triaxial UU) testing. Findings reveal critical insights into soil behavior, stability, and variations in shear strength parameters. The Unified Soil Classification System(USCS) identifies prevalent soil types, dominated by poorly graded sands andgravelly sands. Triaxial UU testing exposes significant variations in shear strengthparameters, highlighting soil heterogeneity. This comprehensive study contributes togeotechnical engineering, emphasizing the need for tailored mitigation strategiesand multidisciplinary approaches in effective landslide risk management in KaroRegency.
