Abstract

The degree of learning assistance services through face-to-face tutorial presented to the university students of the Open University will bring about an impact on the height of participation of the university students in the implementation of that tutorial and in the end it will affect the learning achievement of the university students. This research is intended to know the perception of the university students of S1 PGSD UPBJJ-UT Banjarmasin toward the learning assistance services in the form of that face-to-face tutorial. This kind of research is a survey research by using the data collecting instrument in the   form of questionnaire. The subject of the research is all the university students of S1 PGSD Classroom Teachers of the Open University (UT) within the 2014 registration period of the 1st semester, numbering 30 university students. The research result has shown that 37,25% of them are very satisfied, 62% of them are satisfied, and the remaining 0,75% of them are not satisfied with the services of face-to-face tutorial.

Abstract

This article explores the school inspection framework and indicators of educational effectiveness used in the Netherlands and Indonesia. The Dutch inspectorate carries out school inspection in the form of periodical quality inspection in which schools are assessed through desk-research analysis. Meanwhile, Indonesia employs school accreditation boards and school inspectors to evaluate school quality through desk-analysis and visitation. Both countries apply rather similar indicators of educational effectiveness. The Netherlands uses in-depth content analysis, however,  Indonesia uses a rather broad one.

Abstract

This research deals with the analysis of discourse structure in the show "Baantaran honesty" in Banjarmasin and the researcher concludes that this discourse structure consists of greetings, praise to God and the Prophet, respect for the arrival of the family of the bridegroom, Introduction words (in the language of Banjar-called " maantar pamandiran "), Core (delivery or receiving conduction), Acknowledgements and apology, Prayer, Closing (greeting). This type of approach used in this study is qualitative descriptive. The research is qualitative descriptive and aims of providing an overview of the case carefully. In the analysis of discourse structure, "baantaran jujuran" The discourse of dilivery of the bridegroom of the first and the discourse of acceptance of the bride is the response symbolized by R.

Abstract

Research on musical of cells material through cooperative learning model has been implemented with the purpose: (1) Increase motivation to learn (2) Improve student learning outcomes (3) Increase the management of learning (4) Increase the activity of the teacher (5) study the response of the students. The research design is class action research with two cycles. Research subject were students of class XI Science SMAN 1 Upau totaling 17 students. Data were collected from test instruments, questionnary and observation. The research showed: (1) Students learning motivation increase. It can be seen from the score of sudents’ activitiy (4,51, very active) and the score of student motivation (4,53, very good;) (2) The improvement of students learning outcomes of cognitive aspect (classical mastery by 23,53% to 92,86%) and affective aspect. (3) Teacher learning management increased to excellent category (score 3,86). (4) Teacher’s activity increased to active (score 2,7%). (5) All students showed a positive response to the model.

Abstract

learning English for Indonesian students is the necessity since they have been in elementery school to higher education. However, many students consider English difficult although they have been learnt English for years. Such condition motivates the writer to research the problem the students have. The writer believes that comprehending the students’ problem in learning English help them to teach in a better manner because the writer has known to solve the students’ problem.

Abstract

Classroom action research (CAR) aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes of of 5th grade students of SDN 2 Pembataan in fold symmetry material. On academic year 2011/2012 . Classroom action research carried out in two cycles, and each cycle implemented at three times of learning, where each meeting consists of a 2 hour lesson. The data include student understanding measured using test instruments, process skills measured using observation sheets, student responses measured using a questionnaire, and learning activities measured using observation sheet. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively. Students declared complete when student learning outcomes at 6.5 based on Minimal Mastery Learning Criteria (KKM). Classical completeness is achieved if 80 % of students achieving KKM. The research showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model of probing prompting type in the subject matter of fold symmetry on a flat form in SDN Pembataan improves students’ mastery learning from first cycle to the second cycle, both individual and classical.

Abstract

One parameter of the professionalism of teachers is teachers teach according to their fields. Therefore, dissemination of subject teachers of each school should be evenly distributed. This study is aimed to describe the spread of the teachers at the Junior High School (SMP) as Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS). This type of research is a survey. The subjects were teachers throughout the district SMP HSS. Data were collected through: questionnaires, interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed the overall number of teachers for the subjects of Religious Education and Character , Pancasila and Citizenship Education ( PPKn ) , Indonesian , English, Mathematics , Natural Sciences (IPA), Social Sciences ( IPS ) , and Physical Education and Health has been fulfilled , but the distribution is yet uneven.

Abstract

Research on Optimizing Service tutoring in students of the fourth class Layap Paringin MIN model is divided into two cycles. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. Counseling services provided here are tutoring services as a group and individually. The action taken is to provide information to the students about the purpose of group learning, how to learn effectively,and overcoming problems in learning with group and individual counseling. ARCS questionaire was used to measure students’ motivation. The research concludes that the optimization of tutoring services for groups and individuals increased students’ motivation. It can be seen from the increased motivation of students in the first cycle reached 76.93% and 96.15% in the second cycle. Student motivation to attend the difficult lesson increased namely 78.85% after the first cycle I and 81.87% after the second cycle.

Abstract

The insufficiency of students’ ability in writing traditional poetry learning for Grade VII students of MTsN Banjar Selatan I in Banjarmasin city has encouraged the researcher to conduct an action research study by applying the think, pair, and share type of cooperative learning model. The study was conducted in two cycle, with two meeting session for each cycle. The data collection technic used were test and observation. The result of the study has shown that: (1) the teacher activity has improved from the score rate of 4,1 (good category) in cycle I to 4,6 (very good category) in cycle II, (2) student’s activity has improve from the score rate of 7,90 in cycle I to 11,24 in cycle II, (3) the students ability in writing traditional poetry has improved from the mark rate of 66,62 in cycle I to 80,10 in cycle II with mastery category. Therefore, it can be concluded that think, pair, and share type of cooperative learning model is effective in improving writing traditional poetry ability for grade VII students of MTsN Banjar Selatan in Banjarmasin.

Abstract

This study is a first stage of the research and development of the learning tools of problem based learning model. This study used a survey method to obtain data abaout implementation of learning science in elementary school, and student characteristics comprising cognitive styles and reasoning ability. Furthermore, the datas were analyzed descriptively as the basis of developing the learning tools. Tis study showed that: (1) learning science has been widely implemented the conventional approach and emphasized to the cognitif learning outcomes: “teacher explains the concepts, give exercise to the students, then test the students’ understanding, (2) teacher conducted investigation-based learning activities in learning occasionally and students are not familiar to discussion activities and communicate the results of their investigation, (3) science learning have not been considered differences of the students’ characteristics (4) students of elementary school with category C and B generally have a field-dependent cognitive style (FD), while students at school with A category distributed in all cognitive style (field dependent, field-intermediate and field- independent/FI), although the most of them with FD cognitive style and (5) majority of elementary students have the concrete reasoning abilities. Based on the above facts, science learning strategy should facilitate students to construct their knowledge meaningfully, train a variety of skills such as social skills, psychomotoric skills, and process skills as well as consider characteristics of the students, so that they they can learn optimally .
