Abstract

Settlement of ethnic Chinese in Banjarmasin tend to be concentrated in the large waterways, namely in the area of Veterans, Gedangan, and RK Ilir who all along the river Martapura. In general, the ethnic Chinese community living in Banjarmasin, build and inhabit their home by adjusting the environment and local culture that has been there, so many who live in the traditional banjar-type house (traditional house banjar). In a further development of life between cultures and behavior of a relationship of mutual influence.  This study aimed to identify the forms and meanings (of the form) homes ethnic Chinese in Chinatown Banjarmasin. Selected case studies are some of the homes were inhabited by ethnic Chinese in the form of Banjar traditional house in the Chinatown area of Banjarmasin.This research uses descriptive analytical method, which describe the characteristics of the dwelling as an object of study, looking for the type of home Banjar close similarity, and identification of native cultural elements is indicative of acculturation China with Banjar culture. In this context, architecture is understood as part of the totality of social systems associated with other socio-cultural variables.  The analysis was performed by comparing the typology few homes with a shape that resembles a traditional house Banjar, then analyzing the pattern of the layout, style and style, ornaments, as well as the construction of the structure.The analysis showed that the basic form of house Banjar still maintained by ethnic Chinese who inhabit it, because of the assumption of symmetry meaning in Chinese architecture. Ornaments and color elements in Chinese architecture, which blend in with the architecture of Banjar architecture make Chinatown in London came up with a different character from Chinatown in Indonesia in general. What is more important is that all these elements exist in Chinese people's homes loaded with meaning and symbolic message about the meaning of community life and prosperity in the world related to the traditions and beliefs of Chinese society at large. Keywords  :  settlement, ethnic chinese and traditional house banjar

Abstract

Chromium is a heavy metal which if exceeded the quality standards would pollutes theenvironment, therefore the reduction of metal chromium is needed, which with the adsorptionprocess. The Adsorption could be using a natural adsorbent. One of the potential natural adsorbent which can be found in South Kalimantan is the dregs of tea leaves.This study aimed to analyze the effect of pH, adsorbent weight and contact time in the reduction of total Cr in artificial waste water and analyze the efficiency and the reduction of Cr total adsorption capacity by using adsorbents from the dregs of the black tea leaves. Before the adsorption process is started, theadsorbent should be activativated using 4% NaOH. Furthermore, the adsorption processisdobyusing the batch method with volume of liquid is 25 ml. The independent variable using pH(4,5,6,7,8), the weight of the adsorbent as much as 0.4; 0.6;0.8;1.0gram, contact time(15,30,60,90,120) minutes. Variable fixed stirring speed of 120 rpm and total Cr concentration of 10 ppm. The results showed that the largest decrease of total Cr achieved at pH4 and 0.4 gram of weight. The largest Cr adsorption at pH4 solutionis 13.18% and adsorption capacity at 0.06mg/g.  The largest efficiency and capacity achieved at 0.4 gram of weight is 12.11% and 0.06 mg/g. 60 minutes of contact time. For 60 minutes of adsorption process, resulting in 11.08% efficiency while the adsorption capacity of 0.08mg/g.

Abstract

Kajian Keteguhan lentur Statik Jenis Kayu Kelas Dua (Lanan Merah, Lanan Kuning, dan Lanan Putih) adalah judul yang sengaja dipilih, hal tersebut dikarenakan banyak pemakaian bahan kayu untuk konstruksi di Kalimantan Selatan Khususnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui secara baik tentnag keteguhan lentur static ketiga jenis kayu lanan tersebut yang terdapat di “Wantilan” Banjarmasin dan sekitarnya. Metode penelitian adalah dengan memberikan pembebanan static pada satu titik ditengah bentang antara dua perletakan sederhana yang berjarak 70 cm.Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa tegangan lentur dari kayu lanan kuning, lanan merah dan lanan putih, masing-masing sebesar 4,5 ; 5,6 ; 5,1 kali lebih dari pada tegangan lentur yang diperkenankan dalam PKKI-NI 5-1961. Agar hasil ini lebih baik maka perlu dilakukan kajian untuk benda uji yang lebih banyak lagi, dna dengan 2 (dua) perletakan jepit – elastis.

Abstract

The provision of construction experts in South Kalimantan can not be separated from the activity of the construction service community, whether from the Owner, the Construction Agents, the Service/skill Supplier, and the Regulator as well as Construction Service User Community. Therefore the improvement for both quantity and quality are not only the responsibility of the Institutions of Skill Service Provider. On the contrary, the supervision of Construction Service Experts implementation in the field must receive appreciation and commitment from the Local Construction Agents, with support of good plans  from the the Regulator. Challenges of the fulfillment of worker demands of construction service industry must be viewed from the context of regulation, through the aspects of law, policy, infrastructure, as well as the Construction Management itself. Thus a holistic evaluation study toward the projection of the number of workers and the existence quality in construction service industry in South Kalimantan is obtained. Keyword: construction, regulator, projection.

Abstract

Banjarmasin as the city of a thousand rivers has become a region with strong riverside character. From its history, traditional kampungs grow along the riverbanks with unique features and characteristics. Along with the development of time and progress in all fields, the riverside kampung undergoes transformation that threatens the fading of the identity and existence of riverside architecture in Banjarmasin City. This study aims to identify the character of riverside architecture in Kampung Sasirangan and dwelling components that became the background of the character. The location of Kampung Sasirangan chosen based on the criteria of finding lanting houses, riverbank houses, titian, trunks, toilets, docks and bridges as part of the riverside architecture This research uses rationalistic method with typology as a classification analysis tool of mapping of residence typology and its physical component. The findings of this study illustrate the trend of changes and transformation of riverbanks and lanting houses in the area of Kampung Sasirangan that is happening and is real. These changes are generally not in the form of architectural form but in the material forming content and functions that exist in each of these houses. The strong influence of the road to the attraction of orientation and the changing factor of the community profession in Kampung Sasirangan, which is based on the main factor that is the economic accessibility that becomes the base of the changing factor of the area.

Abstract

Solvent extraction or Liquid-liquid extraction in packed column is a process of liquid phase separation in which a liquid solution (the feed) is contacted with an immiscible or nearly immiscible liquid (solvent). Mass transfer process occurs as effect of contact between continuous phase from above and dispersed phase from underside column. With existence of packing in column, that caused interfacial area to become bigger and residence time more and older so that improvement of mass transfer process. The aim of this research is to study drop dynamics or movement behavior of drop and mass transfer liquid-liquid extraction in packed column deputizing with overall mass transfer coefficient based on packing type of sphere. Drop shows different behavior at different packing type and height in column. The behavior will be caused changing in number of drop and drop size distribution along size column. Observation of drop behavior is done by using length square column transparent so that visually drop dynamics can be observed and recorded at every segment of column height using digital camera. This research will be done by packing type of sphere and varying flow rate of the dispersed phase to know behavior of drop. Besides this research will also be done observation of mass transfer rate from continuous phase to dispersed phase poured in the form of overall mass transfer coefficient. The research will be done by using water – MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) – n-hexane system. The result of this research for packing type of sphere shows that more and more big dispersed phase flow rate and height from under side column (distributor), hence drop is more and more small with number of which more and more many. This caused significant increase on overall mass transfer coefficient.

Abstract

Wall materials continue to evolve with the demands in achieving the cost, time, quality is the most effective and efficient. The emergence of technology as a light brick wall provides enough material positive impact on society in general and in particular the construction world. This study aims to analyze the material selection strategy that wall pair gain competitive advantage and have the product in accordance with the wishes of consumers and optimal support of existing resources.Light brick is divided into two types, namely lightweight autoclaved Aerated Concrete brick (AAC) and lightweight brick Cellular Lightweight Concrete (CLC), the second type of brick is made of lightweight cement-based materials and sand, which is different is the composition and method of manufacture, light brick AAC dipabrik made through the fabrication process, while the lightweight brick CLC not through the fabrication process.From the analysis, unit price pair of red brick wall USD 101 602 / m², light AAC brick wall USD 123 700 / m², lightweight brick wall CLC Rp 106.700 / m². The results of the three brick lightweight AAC and CLC types are more expensive than the red brick, this is light brick unit price is more expensive than red brick. But in terms of execution time using a lightweight brick 2x faster than using red brick. With SWOT analysis obtained material selection strategy that couples the wall as desired by consumers desired excellence and optimal support of existing resources. So to use the materials in the project planning and it all depends on where the material needs required.

Abstract

A liquid fluid flow that is driven by a centrifugal pump past the ventury channel needed to produce the vacuum conditions at the ventury vacuum pump. The amount of vacuum pressure produced by ventury is influenced by the increase of flow rate due to the channel cross section that follows the Bernoulli principle. The flow rate on the channel is affected by the discharge generated by the pump that follows the law of continuity. In addition to speed, the pressure of channel input is also a variable that affects ventury vacuum pressure. Pressure losses and flow discharge caused by the connection or turn of the pipe arising from the installation design, will affect the performance of the Setrifugal pump in the form of discharge flow and pressure that ultimately strongly affects the rally Venturi vacuum work. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the influence of the design of the istalation associated with the position of ventury mounting and the direction of the flow to the pressure and discharge of the vacuum to be the primary purpose of this research so that the variables are obtained The performance of a ventury vacuum pump. In this research the placement of vacuum ventury in several positions, namely vertical position, horizontal position and tilt position 45o. Then measured parameters are occurring, such as discharge fluid flow, liquid fluid pressure and vacuum pressure occurring on the pipe. From this study obtained optimum performance on the installation with a sloping ventury position of 45o with the direction of the downward flow, which resulted in the lowest vacuum pressure of-65 CmHg with ventury suction flow of 33.01 liters/minute.

Abstract

Activated carbons prepared from rice husks, an agricultural waste by product, have been examined  for the removal of acetic acid from aqueous solutions. The activated carbon was prepared by physical activation. The results show that the Freundlich  isothem model were well fitted rather than Langmuir model. They also indicate that the sorption of  acetic acid is depend on the stirrer velocity as well as on the particle size of the activated carbons.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari kajian sejarah dan konservasi arsitektur. Merupakan suatu kajian anatomi bentuk arsitektur kolonial, dengan mengambil studi kasus benteng vreddeburg di yogyakarta. Penelitian ini terbatas hanya pada beberapa bangunan yang terdapat di kompleks benteng di telaah. Sedangkan anatomi yang dibahas adalah keterkaitannya dengan arsitektur renaissance, tradisional jawa dan cinaBerdasarkan analisa terahdap anatomi bentuk arsitektur benteng vredeburg, menunjukkan bahwa elemen-elemen penyusun bentuk arsitektur benteng  Vredeburg,  didominasi oleh bentuk arsitektur renaissance ( sebagai ragam arsitektur asal para pembangunnya/ Belanda).Namun demikian, dari beberapa gedung yang dianalisa terdapat sautu fenomena yang menarik, dimana semakin belakangan bangunan tersebut dibangun semakin besar pengaruh dari arsitektur setempat. Arsitektur setempat tersebut, bukan hanya arsitektur tradisional jawa, akan tetapi juga arsitektur cina (sedikit pengaruhnya) yang merupakan tanggapan terhadap bentuk-bentuk bangunan orang tionghoa yang terdapat disekitar bangunan benteng.
