Abstract

Complex dermatitis is inflammation of the skin caused by various types of agents such as fungi, ectoparasites, bacteria and congenital diseases that occur simultaneously so that the clinical signs shown are in the form of clinical combination of primary lesions and secondary lesions. The aim of the study was to observe changes in the microscopic skin of dogs with complex dermatitis patients after topical extract of neem oil. The sample consisted of 3 dogs that had moderate complex dermatitis. The three dogs were smeared with herbal extracts to the external part of the skin with lesions. Herbal extracts are given topically 2 times a day, morning and evening. On days 0, 7 and 15 a biopsy was performed on all three samples. Histopathological observations were carried out using a 100X and 400X binocular microscope. Histopathological examination shows changes in the form of hyperkeratosis, inflammatory cell infiltration in the form of basophils and neutrophils, ththosis, and ulcers. The results showed that administration of neural extracts affected dogs suffering from complex dermatitis or the administration of neem extracts can accelerate recovery in dogs suffering from complex dermatitis.

Abstract

Chili is a plant originating from central America and is an important commodity in Indonesian society, some types of chili that are commonly used by Indonesian people include Capsicum frutenscens l. (cayenne pepper), Capsicum annum l. var annum (large chili), and Capsicum anuum l. (curly chili). chili is one of the spices which has compounds that can inhibit pathogenic bacteria or food-destroying bacteria. chili contains a compound from the capsinoid group, capsaicin. capsaicin (8 methyl-n-vanilyl-6-nonenamide) is an active component of chili which produces heat and as an antibacterial in food. this study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of a solution of cayenne pepper, curly chili, large red chili and beef storage quality stored at 4 ° c for a week with a concentration of 25% and 50% in the immersion time for 5, 10, 15 minutes which in terms of pH, water content and water holding capacity. The results found that the type of chili (cayenne, curly, big red) can reduce the water holding capacity and pH and increase the water content of beef stored at 4ºC for a week. The concentration of chili solution (cayenne, curly, big red) can reduce the binding capacity water and pH as well as increasing the water content of beef stored at 4ºC for a week. Length of immersion of beef into chili solution (cayenne, curly, big red) can reduce water holding capacity and pH and increase the water content of beef stored at 4ºC for a week.

Abstract

The xenograft function in fracture healing is as osteoinduction. Osteoinduction is stimulated by factors present in the graft material including proteins and growth factors. Proteins and growth factors contained in the graft material are related to the process of osteoblast formation. This study aims to determine the amount of osteoblasts in bone fractures post-transplantation demineralized porcine cortical bone xenograft. Eight males dog aged 3-4 months were used in this study, which was divided into 2 groups at random. Group I is 2 dogs is used as a control, the dog on the diaphysis of the femur bone is drilled with a diameter of 1 cm without graft material. Group II is 6 dog on diaphisis femur bone drilled with a diameter of 1 cm and given Demineralized Porcine Cortical Bone Xenograft. Femoral bone was biopsied at 4th and 8th weeks postoperative for histologically processed and stained with hematoxylin-Eosin. The results showed that the number of osteoblasts in the group given demineralized porcine cortical bone xenograft was higher than the control group. There was no statistically significant difference in the number of osteoblasts between groups (P> 0.05). In conclusion, demineralized porcine cortical bone xenograft can increase the number of osteoblast cells in the bone healing process but the increase is not significant.
