Abstract

Untuk alasan kesehatan dan lingkungan, banyak limbah peternakan sekarang ini sudah diproses melalui digester anaerobic. Namun demikian biogas yang dihasilkan perlu untuk dimurnikan lebih lanjut. Salah satu pengotor yang banyak ditemukan dalam biogas adalah gas karbon dioksida (CO2) yang cukup rumit untuk dipisahkan dari biogas. Beberapa cara dan produk komersial yang ada sekarang ini cukup rumit dan memakan biaya yang besar. Untuk itu perlu dikembangkan cara yang sederhana untuk memurnikannya dengan biaya yang terjangkau sehingga dapat berupa teknologi tepat guna di masyarakat. Limbah kulit tiram dari Restoran makanan laut (seafood restorant) di sekitar Jimbaran, Bali dikumpulkan untuk selanjutnya dibakar sampai membara dan dijadikan kapur padam dan selanjutnya dibentuk menjadi pelet butiran kecil dan dikeraskan dengan cara dijemur sampai setengah kering dalam plastik transparan untuk mencegah reaksi dengan CO2 dari udara dan selanjutnya digunakan untuk memurnikan biogas dari pengotor Gas CO2 dalam biogas. Teknik yang dikembangkan di sini dapat berfungsi dengan baik untuk memurnikan biogas dari kandungan pengotor sampai pada level maksimum yaitu tidak mengandung karbon dioksida.

Abstract

Community service activities is aimed at the development of indigenous forest in order to preserve theenvironment of indigenous Balinese culture and appeal of ecological tourism through the creation ofnurseries, planting and plant arrangement taru pramana in Batubulan Sukawati Gianyar Regency. Themethod applied in community empowerment activities IbW (science and technology for the Region) is asfollows: (1) Coordination and communication are participatory with farmers' groups to create a program fromthe planning, operational and evaluation; (2) Guidance for the perception and understanding of theinnovations or programs implemented; (3) training to improve the skills of applied science and technologybeing transferred to the public; (4) Assistance is ongoing meetings between the chaperone with the targetcommunities so that science and technology are transferred can be carried out independently by thecommunity. The results obtained show that the dissemination of science and technology activities for theregions in Batubulan village, sub-district Sukawati, Gianyar can take place properly, the active participationof society and the adoption of science and technology is high. Active participation of partners in all activitiesof technology dissemination is high at 68%. Adoption of science and technology capabilities and partners'initiatives to produce seeds independently is quite high at 50%.

Abstract

Desa Manikyang Kecamatan Selemadeg Kabupaten Tabanan dengan jumlah penduduk 329 Kepala Keluarga, mata pencaharian kebanyakan sebagai petani. Berdasarkan data masih ada penduduk yang belum memiliki jamban keluarga sekitar 10% dari jumlah Kepala Keluarga. Jamban yang ada di desa tersebut kebanyakan memiliki kualitas yang rendah akibat pemeliharaan yang masih kurang, umur jamban sudah usur, dan kurangnya pemahaman tentang sanitasi. Masyarakat yang belum memiliki jamban keluarga untuk membuang kotoran dilakukan di sungai atau pada tempat-tempat tertentu. Sehingga terjadi lingkungan kurang sehat. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut sangat penting dilakukan sosialisasi tentang kesehatan lingkungan dengan melakukan perbaikan sanitasi yang salah satunya membuat jamban keluarga yang sehat. Hasil pengabdian di Desa Manikyang Masyarakat sudah mendapatkan contoh Jamban Sehat sederhana dan masyarakat mendapatkan pengetahuan cara cara hidup sehat.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The farmers of salaks, the snake fruits of Sibetan Village have encountered the price tumble during the harvest time. The bumper crops during the harvest while at the same time there is a steady demand on it, as well as that there has not been an effort to process the abundant crops into a preserved foods are considered to be the main factors that cause its price drop. Training and short course have been conducted to introduce the way how to process the fruits into dodol salak, a sticky cake made of the salak fruit as the main material, by conducting the lecturing and practicing method. The participants were members of family welfare organization (PKK) and the local housewives from Telutug of Sibetan village with the total number of 32 participants, and most of them are the farmers of salaks. The process of making the dodol salak comprises the following steps : the collection and selection of the fruits, peeling and coring the fruit, steaming, mashing the fruits into a pulp, the mixing with coconut milk, palm sugar and sticky rice floor in the bowl, mixing and boiling the mixture within 120 minutes, cooling down and then it is molded and wrapped. The result of the training shows that the participants were really enthusiastic, it could be seen by the abundant of questions raised either during the lecture, discussion as well as during the practice of making the dodol salak itself. It is expected that by introducing the way how to process the fruits into dodol will improve the skill and knowledge of the local people in general and especially for those of PKK members and the housewives. The food processing into dodol salak may bring about many advantages such as the diversification of the fruit processed-product, giving the added value to the fruit, to lengthen the storage time and to improve the appearance and quality of the product.

Abstract

Edutourism is a program combining elements of tourist activities with education. Edutourism is expected tobe a means of preserving the culture values and introduce the history and culture of Indonesia. This is becausethe phenomena among the younger generation who are no longer interested in studying history. Sekolah TinggiPariwisata Pelita Harapan, Universitas Pelita Harapan developed educational travel programs catering for studentsof junior high schools to enhance interest in learning history. Students of SMP Negeri 2 Kelapa Dua Tangerangwere selected to attend this edutourism program by visiting Monumen Nasional and Museum Sejarah Jakarta. Thisprogram was conducted on Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 with total participants were 20 students and two teachers.Edutourism program was led by lecturer and guided by students of Travel Industry Management. The studentsand the team from Travel Industry Management were very enthusiastic during the edutourism. Benefits obtainedby the students through this program are (1) improving the understanding about historical sites in Jakarta, (2)widening the knowledge about historical sites in Jakarta, and (3) developing the partnership between the SMPNegeri 2 Kelapa Dua Tangerang and Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Pelita Harapan, Universitas Pelita Harapan. Abstract

Natural resources of Klungkung regency particularly at Takmung village according to Bali forages survey in 1992, was very potencial for developing farm animals (goat and cow) due to its highest forages production especially green legumes. Those potencial however, were not optimally used by the farmers which lead to the unsuccessful production attainment. Due to this condition, the community service for farmers at Takmung village, howevr was conducted on 13th August 2010. The aim of this activity was to deepen their knowledge and skill particularly with more emphases on the agribisnis aspect of farm management. The method used is by socialization in rearing and management practices of PE goat as one of the promising commodity in order to increase milk and meat production both in quantity and quality. In this activity include discussion and demonstration how to compose concentrate and forage ration adequately, how to attain fresh, clean and healthy milk from the dam goat. Twenty eight farmers were involved as participants with 5 presenters as lectures or instructors. According to the evaluation results during this activity, the participants were very enthusiastic which can be seen by a lot of questions raised during discussion session, as well as during demonstration practices. Results from pre and post-test evaluation suggests that the participants improved their knowledge and skill for those 5 aspects: in slection, feed and nutrition, reproduction, milk production and handling, and waste product handling and fertilizer were increased 27,76%, 33,33%, 27,77%, 5,55%, and 16,67% respectively. From these results it can be suggested that in this services our innovation can be adopted by the farmers and hopefully they can implement practically in the field. We also suggest that they could form a strong and professional farmer group which are also provided to spread out this innovation among their communities.

Abstract

Pura Desa Wonorejo yang terletak di Desa Wonorejo, Kecamatan Silir Agung, Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Pura yang diemong oleh umat desa ini, eksistensinya tidak hanya terkait dengan umat Desa Wonorejo, namun juga umat di wilayah desa sekitarnya yang belum memiliki pura. Saat ini, secara umum kondisi fisik pura dapat dikatakan baik, namun dalam beberapa hal masih memerlukan penataan terkait konsep hulu-teben yang ditransformasikan pada bangunan palinggih Widhi-Dewa-Leluhur. Tidak efektifya area di bagian belakang palinggih, sedangkan di sisi lainnya natah yang ada dirasakan tidak cukup memadai dalam upacara tertentu. Kesadaran bahwa kondisi tersebut mengganggu kelancaran pelaksanaan aktivitas keagamaan, kenyamanan dan keyakinan. Kondisi demikian telah mendorong pihak pengempon, pengurus dan pemangku untuk melakukan kegiatan penataan. Kegiatan penataan itu sendiri diawali dengan perencanaan yang didukung oleh civitas akademika Jurusan Arsitektur Universitas Udayana melalui kegiatan pengabdian ‘Hibah Udayana Mengabdi’. Kegiatan perencaaan dan perancangan pada pengabdian ini terdiri dari beberapa tahap mulai dari permulaan /pengenalan, persiapan, pengajuan usul, evaluasi dan tindakan. Dari proses yang diikuti disepakati dan ditetapkan bahwa semua bangunan mengambil bentuk dan corak arsitektur Jawa, sehingga dapat melestrarikan budaya dan sesuai dengan lingkungan setempat.
