In 2050, BPS projects that the number of elderly people will be 74 million, or about 25% of the population. The elderly are a vulnerable group to suffer from hypertension and diabetes. The advancement of current health technology makes it easier for someone to check their pressure and blood sugar to screen for these two diseases. By providing training to elderly cadres on how to measure blood pressure and blood sugar and their interpretation, it is hoped that they will be able to screen for these two diseases independently during posyandu activities. This service is carried out by providing training to the elderly Banjar Umadesa cadres on how to check blood pressure and blood sugar levels with a digital tensimeter and glucometer. After the cadres are trained, health service activities will be provided free of charge to the elderly. There were 50 elderly who attended this activity (29 men and 21 women). Hypertension was found in 15 people (30%) and diabetes in 2 people (4%). But apart from these two diseases, hyperuricemia was found in 12 people (24%), and hypercholesterolemia in 8 people (16%). Elderly cadres can independently measure the blood pressure and blood sugar of the elderly during Yankes activities. With the discovery of a high prevalence of hyperuricemia and hypercholesterolemia, in the future the elderly cadres of Umadesa Banjar need to be given training to measure uric acid and cholesterol levels. hypercholesterolemia, in the future, the elderly cadres of Banjar Umadesa need to be given training to measure uric acid and cholesterol levels. Abstract

Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia Andrews) is a plantation commodity with high economic value and has long been developed by the Ayem farmer group in Sinogo Village through the Mbajing Learning House (Rube). In their cultivation, vanilla farmers in Sinogo Village have problems in making plants stressed (stressing periods) so that plants can not bloom. Therefore, community service activities are carried out regarding the induction of vanilla flowering. With this PKM activity, it is hoped that farmers can understand and apply the correct vanilla cultivation techniques and apply several flowering induction techniques. This is done because from hasil survey conducted shows that 100% of vanilla farmers of Sinogo Village in vanilla cultivation still use local varieties. Sinogo farmers were not yet familiar with the high-yielding varieties of vanilla produced by the Ministry of Agriculture. The planting medium used soil, cocopit and manure. The flowering induction technique that has been carried out was only mechanically by trimming the tendrils so that when the rainfall is high, the flower stressing does not work. There were PKM activities carried out counseling on superior varieties of vanilla, correct vanilla cultivation techniques and several flowering induction techniques, namely mechanically by means of prunning, chemically using paclobutrazol and biologically using the fungus Trichoderma. Abstract

Indonesia’s coral reefs are known as the most species-rich in the world, but also face exceedingly high levels of local anthropogenic pressure. Reef restoration is likely to play a valuable role in the management of these exceptionally diverse and threatened ecosystems. The transplantation had been conducted in the Lipah Beach with 100 hexagon-shaped structures and 500 coral seeds planted consisted of Acropora spp. and Stylophora spp. During 4 months, the local community also involved in monitoring was carried out once/week to observed the growth rate and survival rate of the transplanted coral seedlings of activity. This study result showed that coral seedlings were successful in growing on transplanted structures with varying growth rates for each species in the range of 0.2 – 0.45 cm/month. Public awareness and massive community involvement in co-management with relevant stakeholders plays an important role for the sustainability of coral reef ecosystem and the associated biota included in it. Abstract

Emergency condition that requires basic life support & first aid could happen everywhere. The high incidence of emergency cases in Bali contradicts the low number of trained non-healthcare providers in regard to basic life support and first aid. School as a public place is the target for basic life support training and public access to an automated external defibrillator (AED) for the lay rescuer. This training is provided for making cardiac emergency response plans available for everyone inside the school area. This introduction and simulation for an emergency case with basic life support, first aid, and public access AED has held at SMA Negeri 3 Denpasar on the 4 th of September 2021 with hybrid adjustment due to the covid pandemic. The aim of this public training is for improving students’ knowledge and skills to provide basic life support, and first aid and to use the AED for emergency cases appropriately. The mean pretest score for knowledge is 50,8 and the post-test is 76,4 showing a 25,6 augmentation. All participants mentioned that this public training was useful and increased their skills. Eighty percent of participants suggested that this training should be held annually. Keywords: basic life support, lay rescuer, school.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses in Bali were affected, especially those related to the tourism sector. One of the businesses affected is TwinSilver, TwinSilver is an SME of Silver and Natural Stone Crafts having its address at Jalan Siulan, East Denpasar. Under normal conditions, TwinSilver conducts direct marketing, where TwinSilver opens outlets/stands in Sanur tourist spots which are visited by many tourists, both domestic and foreign. In the midst of the current conditions TwinSilver is no longer able to do direct marketing and the stand was closed for several months. Seeing the condition of TwinSilver SMEs, it is necessary to utilize information technology so that the business can continue to run. Information technology that will be applied includes creating an online stand or creating a digital store. So it is hoped that with an online store, sales can still be carried out by TwinSilver SMEs even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Keywords: information technology, online shop

Abstract

Cultivating freshwater fish using floating net cages (KJA) causes an increase in the nutrient content of uneaten feed and fish feces. Making a KJA pilot using aquatic plant biofilters capable of absorbing pollutants and of economic value, such as water spinach, bok choy, and red spinach, is carried out to socialize pollution from KJA activities and water quality management. The implementation of activities applies the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) method by involving the Fish Farmers Group in Lake Batur in designing and installing environmentally friendly KJA. The KJA system consists of 3 (three) principal components, i.e., a watertight pond, a reservoir for leftover feed waste, and aquaponic plants. The community can understand the pollution and the importance of managing water quality based on the evaluation results. Besides that, through the direct involvement of the community, the design and application of KJA were produced following the conditions of the waters in Lake Batur. This relates to the layout of the components, namely the placement of a window for water circulation between the KJA pond and lake waters in a watertight pond, the order of a tank to hold leftover feed and fish feces as a result of suction from the bottom of the pond in the middle of the KJA, and the planting of plants in the planting medium pipe on the side of the KJA pond. Besides being helpful in environmental management, this KJA installation can be useful for increasing the economy through plant cultivation.
