Indonesian Language Education and Literature is a journal of research publication. The scopes of this research are Indonesian language and literature teaching, either as the first, second, or foreign language. The research can be conducted in elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, and / or university. Abstract

“Mataraisa”, a novel written by Abidah El Khalieqy is interesting to be analyzed. This novel gives strong image of an intellectual woman who are dare to ekspress their idea about women’s right. The research focuses on discussing the feminist idea and action in “Mataraisa” novel by Abidah El Khalieqy.The purpose of this research is to describe the feminist ideaand action of the female characters in “Mataraisa” novel by Abidah El Khalieqy.This research used descriptive method and feminism analysis. The technique of collecting data is library research through studying the literatures discussing feminism. The research conclusion isthe feminist idea and action of female characters are purposed to get gender equality in their society. Concretely, it is shown in the field of freedom of speech, education, workload, and social life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain the content of anti-corruption education in the study and appreciation of poetry in Central Java and Yogyakarta. The object of this research is five universities in Central Java and Yogyakarta, ie UNS, UAD, UMP, Unsoed, and Unikal. The content of anti-corruption education obtained through interviews with the lecturer of the course poem in five universities. Data were collected and analyzed by an interactive model. The results obtained from this study are as follows. (1) The values of anti-corruption education has been internalized into the course study and appreciation of poetry; (2) The value of anti-corruption education that internalized is still general and not concretely lead to anti-corruption values; (3) The value of anti-corruption education that internalized through poems containing the noble values of character education.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' skills in writing short stories. Discovery learning can improve students' ability to generate stories. This study uses a Class Action Research (PTK). The results are as follows. In prasiklus use the lecture method with media Charta with KKM 75. In the aspect of knowledge is only 55% of students who completed and only 66% skill aspect. The results of the first cycle of learning by using discovery learning strategies in preparing the text of the short story nilail obtain an overall average of 76. In the knowledge that acquired skill aspect nilail overall average of 77. Although it has exceeded KKM, but have not reached the targets set in the classical style, ie 80. The observation of posture is 2.88. Activities teachers earned an average of 3.11. Weakness in the first cycle is fixed in the second cycle, both related to the design of learning, learning, and assessment. In the second cycle, student achievement related knowledge reached an average of 79.16. Students who have completed a total of 36 people (100%). Aspects acquire skills nilail overall average, that student attitudes 81. Observations 3.21. Results of teacher activity observation was 3.47 including both categories.

Abstract

One of the factors causing a change in the sound of Indonesian environmental factors. For example the word /Sabtu/ in Indonesian commonly pronounced /Saptu/. It is seen a [b] turned into a [p] as a result of the influence of the sound [t]. This paper aims to explain the change of sound in speech used students in IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The results showed that students in IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon less careful in using pronouncing. Students still mixing the languages to official situations with language in informal situations.

Abstract

Kebiasaan membuang sampah sembarangan ini jika dibiarkan akan menimbulkan masalah kesehatan dan lingkungan yang berbahaya bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Perlu ada solusi untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Agar bahaya sampah tidak berhenti pada buku teks pelajaran, guru sebagai pengelola pembelajaran harus mampu mengemas pembelajaran agar anak-anak sebagai generasi masa depan bangsa Indonesia mempunyai kompetensi yang sesuai dengan apa yang diharapkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas 3 SDN 1 Serang. Penggunaan teknik Hypnoteaching dalam mendongeng memengarungi tingkat kesadaran pada siswa. Penyampaian dongeng dengan menggunakan media yang bervariasi juga dapat memengaruhi daya tangkap siswa dalam memahami dongeng tersebut. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa (1) pada prasiklus dari 26 siswa hanya 19,23% siswa yang membuang sampah pada tempatnya. Artinya hanya 5 siswa yang membuang sampah dengan benar; (2) pada siklus pertama 61,54% siswa sudah membuang sampah pada tempat sampah, artinya 16 siswa membuang sampah pada tempatnya; (3) pada siklus kedua 92,31% siswa sudah membuang sampah pada tempatnya, sedangkan 7,69% atau 2 siswa yang masih membuang sampah sembarangan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui pendekatan hypnoteaching dengan metode mendongeng mampu meningkatan kesadaran siswa dalam membuang sampah pada tempatnya sebesar. This habit of littering if left unchecked will cause health and environmental problems that are harmful to the people of Indonesia. There needs to be a solution to solve this problem. In order not to stop the garbage hazard on textbooks, teachers as learning managers should be able to package the learning so that children as future generations of the Indonesian nation have competencies that match what is expected. This research was conducted in grade 3 SDN 1 Serang. The use of Hypnoteaching techniques in storytelling underlines the level of awareness among students. Submission of fairy tales by using varied media can also affect the ability of students to understand the fairy tale. The results showed that (1) in precycle of 26 students only 19.23% of students dumped the garbage in its place. This means that only 5 students throw garbage properly; (2) in the first cycle 61.54% of the students have already dumped the garbage in the trash, meaning that 16 students throw the garbage in its place; (3) in the second cycle 92,31% of students already throw garbage in place, whereas 7,69% or 2 students still throw garbage carelessly. Thus it can be concluded that through hypnoteaching approach with storytelling method can increase the awareness of students in disposing of waste in its place of equal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada pentingnya kesantunan berbahasa yang harus diperhatikan dalam proses komunikasi. Dalam kesantunan tindak tutur memohon diperlukan strategi dan penggunaan modifikasi yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa BIPA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian naturalistik. Berdasarkan analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi yang digunakan meliputi, yaitu strategi imperatif (kategori permohonan langsung), strategi menanyakan kemampuan atau kemauan (kategori tindak tutur tidak langsung secara konvensional berorientasi petutur), dan strategi isyarat (kategori permohonan paling tidak langsung). Adapun modifikasi internal berupa peranti sintaktik digunakan untuk memperhalus tindak tutur memohon, yaitu menggunakan pertanyaan dan penyisipan. Modifikasi eksternal berupa penggunaan alasan pendukung di awal dan akhir tuturan. Peranti modifikasi internal berupa syntactic down-graders dan phrasa or lexical graders dalam bentuk pertanyaan dan klausa kondisional. Adapun peranti phrasal atau lexical down-graders berupa pemarkah kesantunan dan penanda antarpribadi. Data penelitian tidak menunjukkan adanya penggunaan modifikasi eksternal oleh mahasiswa BIPA. This study focuses on the importance of language politeness to be considered in the communication process. In the politeness of speech acts requested the necessary strategies and use of modifications used by BIPA students. This research is a naturalistic research. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the strategies used include imperative strategy (direct application category), strategy of ability or willingness (indirect speech acts, and the signaling strategy (the most indirect category of petition). The internal modification in the form of syntactic devices used to refine the act of invoking speech, which is using questions and insertion. External modifications include the use of supporting reasons at the beginning and end of the speech. Internal modification devices are syntactic down-graders and phrases or lexical graders in the form of questions and conditional clauses. The phrasal or lexical down-graders device is a marker of politeness and an interpersonal marker. The research data did not show any use of external modification by BIPA students.

Abstract

Penalaran adalah proses berpikir yang sistematik dan logis untuk memperoleh sebuah simpulan. Tujuan penelitian ini dalah untuk menemukan dan mendeskripsikan pola argumen dalam karangan argumentasi siswa tahap operasi formal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan model analisis dari Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu pola penalaran argumen siswa tahap operasi formal terdiri atas lima pola penalaran argumen dengan beberapa variasi bentukan. Pola yang digunakan siswa tahap operasi formal tidak terpaku pada jenjang sekolah. Pola yang paling sederhana, yakni pola (C-G) ternyata masih digunakan oleh siswa tahap operasi formal jenjang SMA. Begitu pula pada pola yang paling kompleks, yakni pola (C-G-W-B-MQ-PR) ternyata sudah mulai digunakan oleh siswa tahap operasi formal awal yaitu jenjang SMP. Hasil temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap operasi formal, daya pikir siswa sudah sangat kreatif dan variatif. Reasoning is a systematic and logical process of thinking to derive a conclusion. The purpose of this study is to find and describe the pattern of arguments in the student's argumentation of the formal operation phase. This research is a qualitative research with analysis model from Miles and Huberman. The result of this research is the reasoning pattern of students' argument of formal operation stage consists of five argument reasoning pattern with some formation variation. The pattern used by students in the formal operation phase is glued to the school level. The simplest pattern, while the pattern (C-G) was still used by students of the formal operation stage of senior high school. Similarly, in the most complex pattern, the pattern (C-G-W-B-MQ-PR) was already started to be used by the students of the formal operation phase of junior high school. These findings indicate that in the formal operation phase, students' thinking power has been very creative and varied.

Abstract

Rendahnya keterampilan menulis mahasiswa IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon memerlukan penanganan yang serius. Sebagai calon guru, mahasiswa Jurusan Tadris Bahasa Indonesia (TBI) perlu memperoleh pembekalan kemampuan menulis yang baik. Pembelajaran berbasis life skills akan mengarahkan mahasiswa untuk terampil menyelesaikan permasalahan-permasalahan kehidupan yang semakin kompleks. Pemilihan Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) didasarkan atas pertimbangan bahwa lahirnya sebuah gagasan memerlukan stimulus. Untuk itu, dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan menulis esai mahasiswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran CIRC berbasis life skills. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jurusan TBI semester 2, tahun akademik 2015/2016. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis mahasiswa mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya, baik dari aspek kemampuan dalam memilih tema, merumuskan judul, mengorganisasikan gagasan, menganalisis, maupun teknik penulisan. Dengan demikian, penerapan model CIRC efektif untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis esai.The low skill of writing IAIN student Syekh Nurjati Cirebon requires serious handling. As a prospective teacher, students of Tadris Bahasa Indonesia (TBI) need to obtain good writing skill. Life-based learning skills will lead students to skillfully solve complex life problems. The selection of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) is based on the consideration that the birth of an idea requires a stimulus. For that purpose, a classroom action research is conducted to know the improvement of students' essay writing skills through the application of CIRC learning model based on life skills. This research was conducted in Department of TBI semester 2, academic of 2015/2016. The results showed that students' writing ability improved in each cycle, either from the aspect of ability in choosing the theme, formulating the title, organizing ideas, analyzing, and writing techniques. Thus, the application of the CIRC model is effective to apply in essay writing.

Abstract

Sejalan dengan kemajuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, kini pendekatan pembelajaran telah berubah ke arah pembelajaran abad pengetahuan. Orang dapat belajar di mana saja, kapan saja, dengan siapa saja. Itulah ciri pembelajaran abad pengetahuan yang dikenal sebagai berbasis komputer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran daring atau Online Learning Model (OLM), sekaligus menerapkannya untuk meningkatkan keefektifan perkuliahan Bahasa Indonesia di Perguruan Tinggi. Pengembangan OLM menggunakan teknik Online Interactive Learning Model (OILM) dengan memanfaatkan media sosial berbasis internet serta telepon seluler atau ponsel sebagai sarananya. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program S-1 peserta mata kuliah wajib umum Bahasa Indonesia di tiga fakultas, yaitu Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP), Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi (FST), dan Fakultas Kedokteran (FK). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan campuran atau mix methods. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner, angket, dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) OILM efektif digunakan dalam perkuliahan Bahasa Indonesia di program S-1; (2) model pembelajaran telah mampu meningkatkan penyerapan mahasiswa terhadap materi kuliah, dengan peningkatan mencapai lebih dari 81% dibandingkan dengan hanya menggunakan model pembelajaran tatap-muka; (3) berdasarkan hasil kuesioner, subjek berpendapat bahwa OLM telah memberikan sebuah pengalaman baru yang lebih menantang daripada model pembelajaran konvensional atau tatap-muka.In line with advances in information and communication technology, learning approaches have now shifted toward the learning of the century of knowledge. People can learn anywhere, anytime, with anyone. That is the hallmark of learning the century of knowledge known as computer-based. This study aims to develop online learning model (OLM), as well as apply it to improve the effectiveness of Indonesian language courses in Higher Education. OLM development uses the technique of Online Interactive Learning Model (OILM) by utilizing internet-based social media as well as mobile phone or mobile phone as its ingredients. The subjects of this research are the students of the S-1 program of the compulsory subjects of Bahasa Indonesia in three faculties, namely Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and Faculty of Medicine (FK). This research uses the mixed approach or mix methods. Data were collected using questionnaires, questionnaires, and tests. The results of this study show: (1) OILM is effectively used in Indonesian language courses in S-1 programs; (2) the learning model has been able to increase the students' absorption of the lecture material, with an increase of more than 81% compared to using only face-to-face learning model; (3) based on the results of the questionnaire, the subject argues that OLM has provided a more challenging new experience than the conventional or face-to-face learning model.

Abstract

Dalam rangka melanjutkan misi dakwah, Habiburrahman El-Shirazy yang dikenal sebagai penulis fenomenal novel populer Islam di Indonesia menulis novel terbaru, berjudul Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 (2015). Novel ini mempertahankan tema cinta seperti dalam novel sebelumnya, Ayat-Ayat Cinta (2014). Isu yang dikemukakan tentang cinta seorang gadis dan kepahlawanan seorang pemuda yang dikaitkan dengan tema dakwah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami penggabungan tema Islam dengan hasrat cinta kasih dalam Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2. Penelitian ini mengamati kecenderungan cinta sebagai konsep yang digunakan oleh novelis-novelis Indonesia untuk mengacu pada fase perkembangan dalam kesusastraan Indonesia. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini juga menggunakan sosiologi kesusastraan untuk menghubungkan pokok bahasan cinta dengan latar belakang penulis, misi penerbit, dan realitas kemasyarakatan. To continue the mission of Islamic dakwah, Habiburrahman el Shirazy known as a phenomenal author of Islamic popular novel in Indonesia presents his latest novel, Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 (2015). More significantly, this novel maintains a theme of love in his previous novels including Ayat-Ayat Cinta (2014). The ugly heroin, the lascivious hero and a sexual interest have been connected with the theme of dakwah. To fathom how the theme of Islam can be combined with the sexual desire, this study explores the concept of love in Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2. The study observes the inclination of love as a concept used by the Indonesian preacher-novelist in reference to the developmental phase in the Indonesian literature. Furthermore, this study also uses the sociology of literature to link the subject of love with the author’s background, the publisher’s mission, and the reality of community.
