Abstract

The difference of environmental condition makes the change of anatomical structure related to its growth. This phenomenon gives an information about maize’s adaptation. The aims of the research was to evaluate anatomical response of maize in different light and water treatment. This research used Randomized Completed Design with 3 regimes of light intensity ( L1 (63694); L2 (11408); L3(3897) Lux) and 3 regimes of watering (2 L/ 1,6 L/ and 1,2 L). Each combination was done with 3 replications. Maize was harvested in 75 days after treatment and the parts of plant including leaf, stem, and root were preserved using paraffin embedding method. The measured anatomical responses were leaf thickness; stomatal indeks; root and stem tracheal diameter. Data were analyzed by Anava and DMRT test with significance level of 5%. The results showed that the light intensity L1(63694 Lux) and watering W1(2 L) caused thicker leaf, the larger stomatal index and root’s tracheal diameter. The leaf thickness was 368,67 µm, stomatal index was 31,37 %, and root’s tracheal diameter was 176,10 µm in L1W1 treatment showing the value was the largest and different significantly than the other treatments. While, the stem’s tracheal diameter was not significant because the stem was the last part of plant affected by the treatment. Keywords : maize, Sweet Boy-02, anatomical response, adaptation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the role of parents in improving motivation learners in elementary school Saribi Orkeri District Biak Numfor District. The type of approach taken in this research is to use a qualitative approach. Qualitative research that will be conducted directly with a long time stages and directly included in the scope of the environment, but qualitative research is generally analyzed by inductive approach, especially at the time of the initial study. In this study the authors use descriptive research type that aims to describe the real things related to real conditions in the field. The tools used in this study are questionnaires, interview guides, and documentation. After the data is collected then, the authors analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that parents are instrumental in generating learning motivation learners. This was conveyed by one of the children who stated "they are very interested if there are parents beside them while studying at home". Giving motivation is important for parents so that the child can learn well at home and at school, because parents are the motivator for the child in generating motivation to learn the child before the child is guided by the teacher at school. Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the dosismetry of sector 1-8 collimator 4 mm, 8 mm, 16 mm for the dose rate of Gamma Knife Perfexion. The measurement method for determining the dosimetry of sectors 1-8 is done by calculating the dose rate using chamber ionization detector by convert to Electromter. For calculating the dose rate of each collimator size 4 mm, 8 mm, 16 mm using rules from American Association of Physicists in Medicine Task Grup 51. Abstract

Water cooling occurs since the heat energy of water is transferred to the air. Water is placed in a thin transparant vessel can reduce the effects of heat transfer by radiation and conduction, so the most dominant heat transfer is convection. Newton's law of cooling states that the rate of cooling is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the object and room temperature. By knowing the value of constant cooling, the air convection coefficient can be calculated. This study using three different sizes of cups, each of which is filled with hot water. In each glass inserted temperature sensors that connected to the interface, recording the temperature every 60 seconds using pasco capstone 14.1. The resulting graph was analyzed by exponential regression, in order to find the value of constant cooling, from this value can be calculated the air convection coefficient. The research result shows air convection coefficient value of W/m2OC, that mean if there is an object that has an area of 1 m2 and 1OC higher than room temperature, the thermal energy of the object will be lost of 19.9 J for each second. Abstract

Various types of models student-centered learning has increase for this time. In addition to appropriate learning models, use media for learning is expected to improve student achievement. The purpose of this research is to determine whether the learning achievement student by using media power point in cooperative learning NHT better than just using cooperative learning NHT without media on the subject of hydrocarbons. The study population was the whole class X SMA Teladan with totaling 3 class. Samples were taken at random as much as 2 class and consists of 72 students. The data of student achievement in Chemistry obtained by providing multiple-choice test with 20 questions. Hypothesis testing is done right part t-test at a significance level of = 0.05. Results of data analysis obtained by the average value of the students taught using media power point and a model cooperative pembelajran NHT (class eksperimen1) was 72.08 ± 13.80 with an increase of 56.67%, while the average value of the students taught by implementing cooperative learning NHT (class eksperimen2) was 65.28 ± 9.41 to 40.56% increase. The results showed that an treatment by using media power point on cooperative learning model NHT better than the treatment only implement cooperative learning model NHT to improve student’s achievement in Chemistry, with t-test (2.739) > t table (1.66883) for α = 0.05 and df = 68. Abstract

Zingiber zerumbet (L.) Smith have been long time used by human as medicine, vegetable, and spices. This article aims to explain the botany, the uses, and the bioactivity of the Zingiber zerumbet. This paper is based on literature offline and online media. Off line literatures based on handbooks, dissertations and thesis. Web, Scopus, Pubmed, Journal, and other online media to supplement used in this article. Abstract

The research aims to determine the optimal dosage of sheep manure and the thickness of the bamboo leaf litter mulch on increase growth of Celery. The research method used by experimental method using group randomize block design, 5 x 3 factorial with 3 replication. The first factor was the adding of sheep manure (P), consist of five levels doses, i.e : without manure (p0); 2,5 g/kg of soil (p1); 5 g/kg of soil (p2)l; 7,5 g/kg of soil (p3) and 10 g/kg of soil (p4). The second factor was bamboo leaf litter mulch (M), consist of three levels, i.e : without mulch (m0); mulch with thickness 2,5 cm (m1); mulch with thickness 5 cm (m2). Parameter observed were the plant height, the number of leaf, the leaf area, the shoot dry weight and the root dry weight. The data obtained was analyzed using Anova and Duncan Multiple Range Test (α=5%). Commonly, sheep manure fertilizer dose 5 g/kg of soil (d2) and bamboos leaves litter mulch on the tickness of 5 cm (m2) was the optimum dose for growth of Celery. The result of this research showed interactions beetwen the adding of sheep manure and bamboo leaf litter mulch in increasing the average of the plant growth on the plant height (38 cm) and the number of leaf(34,67 leaves). Abstract

Boesenbergia rotunda (L.). Mansfeld, or temu kunci is native plant in Indonesia, which is used as medicine, vegetables, and spices. The use of plants as medicine and spices relates to its compounds of secondary metabolites. This article aims to explain the uses and bioactive compounds of B. rotunda. This article is based on literature offline and online media. Offline literature used the books, whereas online media used Web, Scopus, Pubmed, and scientific journals. Boesenbergia rotunda have flavonoids (chalcones, flavanones, and flavones) and essential oils (terpinene, geraniol, camphor, α-ocimene, 1,8-cineole, myrcene, borneol, camphene, methyl cinnamate, terpineol, geranial, and neral. The essential oil founded on B. rotunda produces a distinctive odour, so that are used as antipyretic, aroma theraphy, and analgesic. Flavonoids of B. rotunda have been used as an anti-HIV-1, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, anti-cancer, anti-obesity, and anti-microbial. Extract of B. rotunda resulted lysis of membranes and walls microbial. The uses of extract of B. rotunda as antiobesity because its to increase the activity of enzymes involved in lipid catabolism. Abstract

The purposes of the research are : 1. To determine differences in learning outcomes of student with Inquiry_based Learning in Multimedia and Conventional Learning. 2. To determine differences in chemistry learning outcomes of student who have high creativity and low creativity. 3. To determine the interaction between Inquiry based learning in multimedia with the level of creativity in improving student chemistry learning outcomes. The sample in this study conducted in a cluster random sampling of two classes, where the first as a class experiment applied Inquiry based learning in multimedia and the second class of controls implemented Conventional Learning. The instrument used in this study is chemistry learning outcomes test in multiple choice as 30 questions that have been declared valid and reliable. The results were found: there are differences in physical students learning outcomes are taught by Inquiry based learning in multimedia and Conventional Learning. There is a difference in student’s learning outcomes that have high Creativity and Low Creativity. There is no interaction between the Inquiry based Learning in multimedia with student’s level of Creativity in improving learning outcomes chemistry. Abstract

Noise is one of the major environmental health problems in big cities. Noise is an unwanted noise that can interfere with and or endanger health. Road traffic is a major source of noise that disrupts most urban communities. The impacts of noise in the housing environment on public health include communication disturbances, psychological disorders, complaints and demonstration actions. The purpose of this research is to know the noise level at Flyover Pasar Rebo and HI Roundabout and to know whether the noise level in Flyover Pasar Rebo and Bundaran HI is still suitable for human hearing. Based on the research that has been done, obtained that the level of kebisisngan in Flyover Pasar Rebo is 62,25 dB. With the highest average noise level of 69 dB which occurred during the day at 11.30-12.00 WIB and at 12:00 to 12:30 pm. While the noise level at Roundabout HI is 61.50 dB. With the highest average noise level of 65 dB which occurred in the morning at 07.30-08.00 WIB. From the data it can be seen that the noise level in Flyover Pasar Rebo is higher than the noise level at Bundaran HI. This is due to the number of vehicles traveling on the highway Flyover Pasar Rebo more than at the HI Round about. Noise levels in the Pasar Rebo and HI Roundabout flyovers are already at "hard" levels and this is not good for health especially on human hearing.Keywords: Noise, Traffic, Flyover Pasar Rebo, HI Roundabout
