Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the ability of chitosan-formula liquid smoke to make innovation of curing timeswith penetration through the pores of duckling egg shells on the process of salting. A completely randomized design(CRD) was used with long curing treatment in 5, 10, 15, and 20 days. Besides, formula chitosan-liquid smoke with20 g/l and 3% concentration were used in this experiment. The results showed that the curing of time up to 15 daysgave the highest score (P<0.05) with good criteria. The quality of chemical in a long curing times gave significantdifferences (P<0.05) from indicators as of pH value, protein, and content of total phenol, and acids. The resultof SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) showed that formulation of chitosan-liquid smoke could give effect to arelatively open eggshells microstructure. It can be concluded that chitosan formulation with 20 g/l concentrationand 3% of liquid smoke concentration can be effective at 15 days curing time.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims at determining the successful level of broiler contract farming and management decisionmakingability. In addition, it was also conducted with the correlation of knowledge, attitude, motivation, perceptionand social interaction of farmers with the success of decision making and broiler contract farming. The researchwas carried out at Tabanan regency. There were 122 farmers as respondents using proportionate stratified randomsampling and analyzed using by SEM-PLS. It showed that the successful level of broiler contract farming on middlelevel and most of farmers have abilities to make a good decision on broiler management. Knowledge, attitudeand perception have positive significantly for decision making of broiler management, but motivation and socialinteraction had not significantly effected. Decision making gave positive effect to the success broiler contractfarming.

Abstract

The research aims at analyzing the effect use of probiotic cellulolytic biosuplement termite (Termites sp.) tothe productivity of male bali ducks. Bacteria isolates used were first and second preeminent probiotic cellulolyticbacteria isolated derived from termites code BR3.3 and BR3.5. It was designed using a Completely RandomizedDesign with five treatments and three replicates consists of: basal ration without biosuplement (R0), ration basalwith biosupplement but without additional probiotic cellulolytic bacteria inoculant preeminent termites (RBCT0),RBCT1= basal ration with biosuplement probiotic cellulolytic bacteria inoculant preeminent termites 1, RBCT2=basal ration with biosuplement probiotic cellulolytic bacteria inoculant preeminent termites 2 and RBCT1-2= basalration with biosuplement probiotic cellulolytic bacteria inoculant preeminent termites 1 and 2. The result showedthat the initial body weight, slaughter weight and carcass percentage had no significant differences (P>0.05). Incontrast, final body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, Feed Conversion Ratio and meat total cholesterolwere significantly affected (P<0,05) to the result. It can be concluded that use of basal ration supplemented withbiosupplement probiotic cellulolytic bacteria inoculant preeminent termites 2 (RBCT2) can increase productivity ofbali duck at the age of 2 up to10 weeks.

Abstract

The research aims at analyzing the effect of fish flour replacement with fermented wine waste in rations to thebroiler performances. It was conducted using a Complete Random Design with 5 treatments and 5 replications..The treatments were ration using 10% of fish flour and without (0%) waste of fermented wine (R0); ration using7.5% of fish flour, and 2.5% waste of fermented wine (R1); ration using 5% of fish flour, and 5% waste of fermentedwine (R2); ration using 2.5% of fish flour and 7.5% waste of fermented wine (R3); ration without (0%) fish flourand 10% waste of fermented wine (R4). Variables observed were performance including feed consumption, bodyweight gain, final body weight and feed conversion. The results showed that final weight , weight gain and feedconsumption was highest on R1 treatment compared to R0, R2, R3, and R4 (P <0.05). In contrast, the value of feedconversion was similar (P> 0.05). It can be concluded that the highest ferformance on broiler fed ration using 7.5%of fish flour, and 2.5% waste of fermented wine.

Abstract

An experiment was carried out to study the effect of fermented and not fermented coffee skin waste to the growthof kampong chicken. A completely randomized design, with five treatments and five replications were used so thereare 25 experiment units and each unit consisted of 4 cockerels. The Treatments as of P0: diet without coffee skinwaste (diet control), P1: diet containing non fermented coffee skin waste 10%, P2: diet containing non fermentedcoffee skin waste 20%, P3: diet containing fermented coffee skin waste 10% and P4: diet containing fermentedcoffee skin waste 20%. The variables measured were performance including the final body weight, weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, water consumption, and carcass characteristics. Based on result,it can beconcluded that kampong chicken given diet with additional fermented and non fermented coffee skin waste up to20% level has no effect on the growth of kampong chicken age 3-11 weeks, but there is a tendency that the best dietis10% fermented coffee skin.

Abstract

This study was conducted to know the right amount of amino acid and choline (Aminovit) mixture in traditionalfeeds on male bali pigs for 12 weeks. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with fourtreatments and each treatment consisted of 4 replications, so 16 male bali pigs using with a weight range of 11.60-14.10 kg. The feed treatment were P0 treatment: mixed base feed of 49.5% yellow maize and 49.5% pollard; P1:treatment P0 + 0,50% Aminovit; P2: P0 + 1.00% Aminovit; and P3: treatment P0 + 1.5 Aminovit. The performancemeasured were initial body weight, final body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio(FCR). The results showed that increasing Aminovite in the feed increased of final body weight, body weight gainand feed consumption, and feed efficiency.
