Abstract

ABSTRACT This Community service was conducted in a Livestock Group “Pada Jaya”, one of the Livestock Groups located at Dalung Village. Their members are people of Banjar Tegal Jaya, Dalung Village, Kuta Utara Sub District, Badung Regency. They are mostly farmers who are still having productive farm lands with very limited extensions. Nowadays, along with the care for their cattles, they usually give their cattle green woof from natural grasses. Sometimes, they also give rice straws from their waste of rice harvest which is plentiful enough along the year. They, however only do it only if they are in difficulties of getting enough fresh natural greens. Due to this condition, therefore socialization and demonstration for rice straw process with bio-fermentation technology were held. Bio-cas is a probiotik which helps to raise digestion for the livestocks. The substances derive from the cattle’s rumen liquid consisting of bacteria from genus Ruminococcus, Bacteroides, Lactobacillus and Streptococus with the other fermentative fungi genus in a media of sugar solution to fermente the organic complex into a simple organic. With this Community Service Program, the expected result is: The members of the group or breeders have knowledge and comprehension that rice straw could be used as source of livestock woof which could be stored within 3 to 4 months with a bio-cas fermentation method. From this Program, the members of the breeder group have got appropriate knowledge in utilizing rice straw. And moreover, through the use of the fermented rice straw, the members of the group would not be in difficulties to obtain green woof source for their cattles.

Abstract

Pertanian dan peternakan merupakan mata pencaharian utama sebagaian besar masyarakat Desa Buahan, Kec. Payangan-Gianyar. Untuk dapat lebih mengoptimalkan potensi peternakan, di desa ini banyak terbentuk kelompok tani ternak salah satunya adalah Kelompok Tani Ternak Tulus Nadi di Banjar Gambih. Dalam perjalannnya, kegiatan peternakan yang dilakukan masih bersifat konvensional dengan mengandalkan ketersediaan pakan ternak yang masih sangat tergantung pada ketersediaan lahan. Padahal dengan sentuhan teknonogi biofermentasi limbah organik seperti jerami dapak dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan pakan ternak yang berkualitas. Untuk alasan tersebut telah dilakukan sosialisasi dan praktek langsung pemanfaatan limbah jerami sebagai pakan ternak dengan teknologi biofermentasi dengan melibatkan narasumber yang berkompeten di bidangnya, anggota Kelompok Tani Ternak Tulus Nadi dan masyarakat sekitar peternakan serta mahasiswa peserta KKN PPM XIX Desa Buahan. Dari kegiatan yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa; peternak sangat antusias mengikuti pelatihan, peternak mengetahui dan dapat membuat pakan ternak berkualitas dari limbah jerami dengan teknologi biofermentasi dan dapat pula memanfaatkan kotoran ternak menjadi pupuk yang lebih berkualitas dengan sentuhan biofermentasi. Pada akhirnya kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produksi ternak dan produksi pupuk organic dengan sentuhan teknologi biofermentasi. Abstract

This activity on the service to people in Medahan Village, Blahbatuh Sub District, Gianyar District Aimed to improveded soft skill of farmers in applied of probiotic matter used and feed formulation for improveded of feed convertion for to increased of feed conversion on ruminant animal on Week, 7th October 2007 with following twenty fife farmers. The method of were lecture and training about applied probiotic matter and feed formation for non ruminant animal. Evaluated method to do on praction phase, action phase, and understand to realize phase. The result of the activity showed that praction phas eto get people response was 75 percentage, people response on action phase about applied of proiotic matter and feed formulation for non ruminant animal were 85% on understand phase that with lecture and apply about its happened undestand response to increased from 50 until 80 pecentage. It was concluded that the response of farmres to applied of probiotic matter used and feed formation for improveded of feed conversion for to increased of feed conversion on non ruminant animal were higher (70-85 percentage).

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The activity of this community service aimed to introduce the principles and practice of using morea plus for increase the productivity of Bali cattle. The community service was carried out at Balai Banjar Tiingan Tengah, Bebandem, Karangasem on 2 Septembre 2007. The method used in this activity were discussion and demontration base on using morea plus for productivity increase of Bali cattle. It can be concluded that the response of the farmers to this activity was very high. All of the 30 members of the Gerembeng group of farmers who have been invited were come to the conducted meeting. The response of the farmers during demontration as well as during discussion was also high enough which indicated by the member and the quality of the questions from the farmers during the times being.

Abstract

This study was conducted to know the right amount of amino acid and choline (Aminovit) mixture in traditionalfeeds on male bali pigs for 12 weeks. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with fourtreatments and each treatment consisted of 4 replications, so 16 male bali pigs using with a weight range of 11.60-14.10 kg. The feed treatment were P0 treatment: mixed base feed of 49.5% yellow maize and 49.5% pollard; P1:treatment P0 + 0,50% Aminovit; P2: P0 + 1.00% Aminovit; and P3: treatment P0 + 1.5 Aminovit. The performancemeasured were initial body weight, final body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio(FCR). The results showed that increasing Aminovite in the feed increased of final body weight, body weight gainand feed consumption, and feed efficiency.

Abstract

Penelitian telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian hijauan dan konsentrat yang mengandung urea-kapur dan ubi kayu terhadap produktivitas kambing. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Ke empat perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah Perlakuan A: ransum dengan 75% konsentrat (mengandung 4% urea, 2% kapur dan 50% ubikayu) dan 25% hijauan (40% gamal dan 60% rumput raja), perlakuan B: rasnsum yang terdiri 60% konsentrat 40% hijauan, perlakuan C: ransum dengan 45% konsentrat dan 55% hijauan dan perlakuan D: ransum dengan 30% konsentrat dan 70% hijauan. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa produktivitas kambing yang mendapat ransum dengan level konsentrat 45% sampai 75% tidak berbeda sedangkan yang mendapat ransum dengan level konsentrat 30% lebih rendah. Ransum yang memebrikan nilai ekonomi tertinggi adalah ransum yang mengandung konsentrat antara 45% sampai 60%.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai beberapa respon fisiologis kerbau pacuan yang mendapat lama waktu latihan berbeda di Desa Candikusuma, Kabupaten Jembrana (Bali). Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) pola Slit Plot 3 X 4. Tiga tingkat massa tubuh sebagai petak utama (B1 = 309,44 ± 4,29 kg; B2 = 350,94 ± 6,21 kg; B3 = 393,94 ± 8,07 kg) dan 4 tingkat lama waktu latihan sebagai anak petak (L0 : tidak dilatih; L1 : dilatih selama 5 menit/hari; L2 : dilatih selama 10 menit/hari; L3 : dilatih selama 15 menit/hari). Meningkatnya lama waktu latihan menyebabkan meningkatnya suhu kulit dan suhu rektal masing-masing dari 35,58o sampai 40,41o C dan dari 38,13o sampai 40,73o C, serta meningkatnya denyut nadi dan frekuensi nafas masing-masing dari 32 sampai 82 detak/menit dan dari 22 sampai 46 kali/menit. Terjadi peningkatan kebugaran pada kerbau yang dilatih selama 10 – 15 menit/hari yang ditunjukkan oleh suhu kulit, suhu rektal, denyut jantung, dan frekuensi nafas pada 30 menit pemulihan sesudah uji pacuan. PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSE IN RACING BUFFALO SUBJECTED TO DIFFERENT LENGTH OF EXERCISE ABSTRACT A research which was aimed at identifying physiological response has been carried out in racing buffalo subjected to different length of exercise in the village of Candikusuma, Jembrana regency (Bali). Randomized Completely Block Design which was arange in 3 X 4 Split Plot was applied in this research. There were three mainplots in which each plot had one group of the animals that categorized on the based of their average liveweight (± SD) i.e. group of B1 (309,44 ± 4,29 kg), B2 (350,94 ± 6,21 kg) and B3 (393,94 ± 8,07 kg), and four levels of exercise length used as subplot. The levels of exercise were the buffalo which were not subjected exercise (LO), those subjected exercise for 5 (L1), 10 (L2) and 15 minutes/day (L3). The increased of length of exercise were done resulted the increased body temperature and rectal temperature each from 35.58o to 40.41oC and from 38.13o to 40.73oC, also pulse increased and breath frequency each from 32 to 82 breats per minute and from 22 to 46 times per minute. The buffalo that had 10 – 15 minutes per day of exercise got fitness that were showed by the skin temperature, rectal temperature, pulse and breath in thirty minutes recovery after race.
