Abstract

The world oil boom in the 1970s and its peak in the 1980s made Middle Eastern countries rich in petrodollars. The impact is job seekers around the world to try their luck there. Many job seekers become labor (laborers), both in the formal and informal sectors, including Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI). But unfortunately, almost all of these migrant workers work in the informal sector by working as domestic workers, especially women, manual workers, or as drivers for male migrant workers Humans in the jahiliyah period, especially in Arabia, were divided into many strata, which from one level to the next, had a form of power. Slaves, being the lowest strata, even their human values are not fully recognized, because they are considered human beings who are not free. So the owner, can do anything to themselves, without being limited by norms and ethics. Jokowi's desire for a memoratorium for TKI workers is very strong stems from the many cases of abuse experienced by several workers who come from Indonesia. Then whether Jokowi's policy of wanting a TKI memoratorium has a good impact or is it the opposite, seeing from another perspective, TKI are also heroes of state foreign exchange.

Abstract

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is an international organization that facilitates international cooperation in the field of economy and trade. The position of the WTO as an international regime to date certainly has an important influence in the context of a country's national economic progress. In addition, the World Trade Organization has a function to resolve trade disputes experienced by its member states. One of the disputes faced was Peru's price range system on agricultural products that were considered detrimental to Guatemala in the two countries' free trade agreements. This is evidenced by the violation of Article 4.2 by Peru, namely the determination of additional import costs is not allowed in an agreement and is not an ordinary customs duty. Based on the above issues, the authors try to see how the WTO facilitates the implementation of negotiations between the two sides based on the concept of dispute settlement mechanism. Later in obtaining the data source, the author browses news, international trade documents, WTO norms and official statements relating to the topic of this research online.  The article found that the WTO established a panel as a mediator to resolve the trade dispute and asserted that Peru had violated international trade norms applicable to the WTO and this was a permanent decision to be exercised by Peru.

Abstract

Russia invaded Ukraine because the geopolitical location owned by Ukraine is very strategic to expand influence into Eastern Europe. One factor that makes Ukraine a strategic geopolitical location is that Ukraine can join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). If it joins NATO, the NATO treaty states that if there is an attack on one or more NATO countries, it will be considered to be attacking all countries that are members of NATO. NATO members to date number 30 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States. However, to date and shortly, Ukraine is unlikely to join NATO yet. This fact is being used by Russia to invade Ukraine. Russia considers the invasion of Ukraine to be a form of guarding national security. The geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine affect oil prices. This is because Russia is one of the largest oil exporters in the world and a member of OPEC+. This increase in oil prices exacerbates the inflation problems that are being experienced by countries in the world, especially developed countries such as the United States, The United Kingdom, and the European Union. Abstract

This study examines the obstacles and strategies Indonesian Muslim foreign brides encounter in Taiwan. Foreign brides frequently experience discrimination and are often classified as a social problem and the source of the Taiwanese populace's declining standards. The study used the qualitative method and gathered the data via in-depth interviews employing snowball sampling to select the participants. The interviews were conducted with ten informants residing in Taipei and New Taipei. This study employs integration theory to examine the interplay between four domains of integration: structural, social, cultural, and political and civil life. The study found that Muslim foreign brides encounter the most formidable obstacles within the realms of culture and society. Muslim foreign brides employ a strategic approach to confront these obstacles: solicit social support from the closest social circles, including the Muslim community at the Taipei Grand Mosque, the Indonesian Muslim community, and the Chinese Muslim Association. Additionally, they seek assistance from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other members of civil society.  Keywords: Indonesian Foreign Bride, Integration, Muslim Foreign Bride, Taiwan, Transnational Marriage.

Many previous studies claimed that halal certification is one of the keys to economic escalation especially during COVID-19 crises. However, the facts show that no international regime or organization has yet gathered this need to strengthen  economic opportunities for countries supporting the halal industry. This research aims to analyze the significance of the international regime, namely the SMIIC on the awareness of the halal certification in Indonesia as the manifestation of AbdulHamid’s epistemological idea of cultural progress. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the sharing economy from the perspective of neoliberalism using a qualitative research method. Conducting a literature review, the study seeks an in-depth understanding of the impact of the sharing economy phenomenon on individuals and society, in line with the principles of neoliberalism. Data is collected through the analysis of literature related to business models, regulations, and the social impact of the sharing economy. The findings highlight positive effects such as innovation, economic growth, and individual empowerment in alignment with neoliberal viewpoints. However, the study also identifies potential risks such as inequality, lack of consumer protection, and job uncertainty that require special attention in policy contexts. By integrating the perspective of neoliberalism, this research provides insights into the complexity of the sharing economy phenomenon and contributes to the literature's understanding of its impact. The implications of these findings are expected to form the basis for balanced policy-making, considering both free-market values and social justice in managing the sharing economy. Abstract

This article aims to explain the United States strategy in balancing China's dominance in the Indo-Pacific region through forming strategy balancing China's dominance in the Indo-Pacific region through the formation of the AUKUS alliance as a security pact in the Indo-Pacific area. The discussion in this article focuses on the US strategy to balance China's influence in the Indo-Pacific. To explain this problem, the author uses the Yana strategy, namely the foreign entitled Arthashstra. Yana's policy is the policy of being ready to attack. Yana's policies will later be linked to the values of the balance of power concept in modern international relations. Kautilya mentioned that peace and stability in a country strengthen it but never avoid attacks and war. Therefore, countries must be prepared to face war, which could occur at any time and the importance of alliances to safeguard their national interests. The author argues that AUKUS was a US strategy to reduce China's military influence in the region. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through literature study. The research results show that the US helping Australia develop the capability to build nuclear-powered submarines locally in Adelaide, which will strengthen Australia in the Indo-Pacific region, is a US strategy. Therefore, this strategy means that the US can avoid dealing with China, which could lead to confrontation. Through cooperation with Australia, the US can demonstrate its presence internationally to safeguard its national interests.
