Abstract

Communication in science is multimodal (verbal and visual). Representation skills are one of the communication skills in science. A physics teacher is required to have representation skills so that the students more easily to acsess the concept that they have to lean and the teacher  communicate physics concepts more easily to his students. This study examines the representation skills of preservice physics teacher. Three aspects of representation skills, that examined are: 1) the skill of making a single mode representation, 2) the skills of translation between representation modes and 3) multi-representation skills. The instrument used to measure representation skills has been validated and used to measure representation skills of preservice physics teacher in Listrik-Magnet courses. The results showed that the preservive physics student have difficulty in making all of the aspect of representation. It is occured because there has never been learning related to representation or assessment skills that specifically test their representation skills

Abstract

Peristiwa tumbukan dua bola yang berada pada suatu lintasan  merupakan salah satu fenomena fisika yang terjadi dalam waktu yang singkat sehingga untuk mendapatkan data kecepatan bola sebelum dan setelah terjadi tumbukan, diperlukan perangkat yang mampu merekam gejala tersebut dengan ketelitian tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan besar momentum, koefisien restitusi (e) dan jenis tumbukan yang terjadi dari peristiwa tumbukan dua bola yang direkam lalu dianalisis oleh Tracker Video Analysis. Dengan software ini, data hasil tracking mengenai tumbukan direpresentasikan dalam bentuk data dan grafik. Hasil analisis untuk bola bekel melaju menuju bola pasir yang berada dalam keadaan diperoleh e = 0,32475, untuk bola berisi pasir dalam keadaan diam dan kelereng bergerak mendekatinya diperoleh e = 0,189963, dan untuk bola berisi pasir dalam keadaan diam dan bola kosong bergerak mendekatinya diperoleh e = 0,184151. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penentuan koefisien resistusi (e) menggunakan  Tracker Video Anlyse sesuai dengan kajian teori.

Abstract

Osilasi berdasarkan redamannya terbagi menjadi tiga yaitu osilasi teredam ringan, teredam kritis dan teredam penuh. Penelitian ini menyelidiki fenomena osilasi teredam yang disebabkan oleh fluida pada beban yang digantungkan pada pegas. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dan analisis grafik. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan software Video Analysis Tracker. Hasil penelitian menunjukan gerakan osilasi teredam kritis terjadi pada beban yang digantungkan pada pegas dalam medium air. Osilasi beban dalam medium minyak mengakibatkan redaman penuh. Sedangkan osilasi beban dalam medium udara dapat mengakibatkan redaman ringan.

Abstract

The learning process is inseparable from the interaction between the teacher, students, and subject matter. Learning is said to be good if it can describe or express learning activities in totality. One approach that can reveal learning in totality is the Subject Material Pedagogy (PMS). PMS considers that learning is a phenomenon of discourse that is able to teach subject matter in a teachable (easily taught) and accessible (easily accessible) format for students that contain intelligible, plausible, and fruitful criteria. The purpose of this study is to determine the intelligible, plausible, and fruitful criteria and the relationship between the three in learning business and energy. The method used in this research is to use the discourse analysis method. This research was conducted in MAN 2 Garut with a sample of class X MIA 4 students. The results showed that the intelligible criteria were 60%, the plausible criteria were 20%, the fruitful criteria were 12%, and without the response were 8%. The relationship between intelligible, plausible, and fruitful criteria on business and energy learning shows that students can reach the fruitful criteria if the students have reached the intelligible and plausible criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian Desain Didaktis bertujuan menyusun desain pembelajaran berdasarkan hambatan belajar yang muncul pada peserta didik. Desain yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain pembelajaran pada materi Hukum Archimedes. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X-IPA2, X-IPA5, dan X-IPA6. Sample ditentukan berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling. Prosedur dalam penelitian desain didaktis ini adalah diawali dengan melakukan Tes Kemampuan Responden (TKR) awal untuk mengetahui hambatan apa saja yang muncul pada materi Hukum Archimedes. Setelah diketahui hambatan-hambatan yang dialami oleh peserta didik, langkah selanjutnya adalah menyusun desain didaktis dengan mengacu pada hambatan belajar yang muncul pada TKR awal. Implementasi desain dilakukan secara paralel pada kelas X-IPA. Desain didaktis yang diimplementasikan selalu mengalami revisi pada setiap pertemuannya dengan tujuan agar hambatan yang muncul dapat diminimalisasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa desain didaktis yang disusun dapat meminimalisasi hambatan belajar yang muncul pada peserta didik. Meskipun belum secara utuh dan dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu rekomendasi desain pembelajaran pada materi Hukum Archimedes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the magnitude of the gravitational acceleration in free fall motion analyzed by the Tracker and determine the magnitude of the acceleration of free-falling objects depending on the magnitude of the force affecting the object by varying the distance the object is dropped. Retrieval of data in this study through experiments in Catur Tunggal, Yogyakarta. The subject of this research is the large acceleration of free-falling body motion. In the free fall motion variations in the height of falling objects by 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 cm for the same mass of objects that is 353 grams. The data needed is the position of the load on the free fall through Tracker analysis conducted on the recorded video. To find out the magnitude of the velocity and the magnitude of the frictional force acting on free fall motion an analysis is performed using a predetermined equation. The effective time in this study is two months. Based on the Tracker analysis, a velocity graph of linear time is obtained, from the graph the acceleration of free falling objects obtained by the equation obtained in the linear graph is Y = mt + b, where m is the gradient of the linear graph showing the acceleration obtained by analyzing Tracker is the same as gravitational acceleration in theory and for free fall motion of objects obtained an average acceleration of (9,63  ± 0,33) m/s2.

Abstract

This meta-analysis aims to summarize the results of research on the effect of cooperative learning to improve students' critical thinking skills so that it can be seen: the average effect size (ES), the type of CL which has the largest and consistent effect size (ES) critical students. The research method used is descriptive with the form of survey research. The number of research results summarized is 19 journal articles. The results of the data analysis resulted in an ES of 0.71. (contributing 26, 32%). The type of cooperative learning that produces the greatest and most consistent influence is the Basic Learning Type Problem (ES = 1.08, contributing 17.97%). At the level of education CL the contribution is large at the high school level, namely (ES = 0.79, contributing 35.33%).

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan di SMA Negeri 13 Garut, nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada materi suhu dan kalor masih di bawah KKM yaitu sebesar 69,23. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Visualization Auditory Kinestetic (VAK). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan model VAK pada materi suhu dan kalor  serta peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi suhu dan kalor. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-experimental design, dengan desain pretest posttest control design.  Sampel penelitian ini yaitu kelas X MIA 3 dan X MIA 5, setiap kelas berjumlah 37 orang yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata seluruh pertemuan aktivitas guru kelas eksperimen sebesar 87,43%  dan aktivitas siswa  81,80% % yang termasuk pada kategori sangat baik pada kelas kontrol aktivitas guru  74,35% dan aktivitas siswa 65,95%. Selain itu terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi suhu dan kalor pada berbagai ranah .Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran VAK dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study originated from the lack of utilization of learning media during the learning process. Teaching methods used by teachers are less varied so that learners are only trained in cognitive abilities only while for high-level thinking skills such as critical thinking ability is still low. One alternative that can be done to improve the skills of critical thinking is to utilize the Software Tracker media. This study aims to determine the improvement of critical thinking skills of learners through the use of Software Tracker media on the material impulse and momentum. The research method used is Pre-Experiment with design One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample of this research using Purposive Sampling technique. The research instrument used in this research is the critical thinking skills of the students of impulse material and momentum to measure the critical thinking ability of learners. The data analysis technique uses normality test, and t test to normalized n-gain value from pretest and posttest value of learners using Microsoft Excel. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of learners increased after utilizing the Software Tracker media during learning. The result of this research is proved from the significant value of ttable test of 1.691 while t count is 24.53 which means H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. The results of this study indicate that the use of Software Tracker media on the material impulse and momentum have a positive impact on improving the critical thinking skills of learners.

Abstract

Technology in education is a primary need for every individual. The learning process in school was not spared from technology. So that teachers and learners need to understand and proficient in using technology, both during the learning process and in everyday life. So far, literacy skills in Indonesia is still very low. This is indicated by PISA data, in 2009 Indonesian students are ranked 57th with a score of 295 (The average score on OECD is 402), while in 2012 Indonesian students are ranked 64th with a score of 396 (The average score on OECD is 496). The Ministry of Education and Culture developed Gerakan Literasi Sekolah to support the need for the above problems. Based on these problems, this study aims to determine the extent of students' technological literacy profiles in the city of Bandung. The method used is giving questionnaires to students. With this research is expected to increase the ability of technology literacy in learning to support the needs of science in the future
