Abstract

The results of the 2018 Basic Health Research, farmers have a higher proportion of hypertension than other occupations, namely 36.14%. One of the characteristics of the farming population is the low level of education. These factors contribute to the low implementation of healthy living behavior, especially in the prevention of hypertension. Women farmer groups play an important role as peer educators who can implement hypertension prevention behavior in their families and their environment. This study aims to increase knowledge about preventing hypertension in women's farmer groups in Karanganyar District, South Lampung Regency. The benefit of this study is the implementation of healthy living behavior to prevent hypertension. The activity was carried out with a target of 194 people who are members of 10 women farmer groups. The intervention is health education about hypertension prevention. The results obtained, before the education was carried out, the knowledge of farmers was not good as many as 106 people (54,6%) and after education the knowledge of farmers was not good as many as 14 people (7,2%). From the results of McNemar's analysis, it was found that there was a significant difference between knowledge before and after health education (p = 0.001). Health education carried out continuously as an effort to maintain health in the farming community in Karanganyar District, Lampung Regency, Lampung.

Abstract

Bond strength of tissue conditioner (temporary soft denture liner material ) on an acrylic denture base could be affected on the adhesion between these two materials by water solution such as chemical denture cleanser. Cinnamaldehyde contained in cinnamon plant extract (Cinnamomum burmani) is one of the natural agents that can be recommended as a denture cleanser and expected to have a smaller impact on  the mechanical properties of material. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of immersion time in plant extract denture cleanser containing cinnamaldehyde on the bond strength of tissue conditioner to acrylic resin. Method: Twenty four rectangular acrylic soft denture liner samples (64 mm x 10 mm x 2,5 mm (ISO 1567:1988)) were divided into 4 groups : group I and II, 1.5 % cinnamon extract  immersions (for 7 days and 14 days); group III and IV, aquadest immersions (for 7 days and 14 days). The measurements of samples’s bond strength were done using the Universal Testing Machine on the last day of each group after immersion. The results were submitted to one-way ANOVA and post hoc Bonferroni. Results: There was a significant difference between all groups (p<0.05). The highest average of sample’s bond strength was shown by group III and IV followed by group I and II, respectively. Conclusion: There was effect of immersion time in cinnamon extract denture cleanser on the bond strength of tissue conditioner to acrylic resin

Abstract

Backgrounds. Hypertension is a global health problem due to its increasing prevalence. Hypertension is a condition where there is a persistent increase in blood pressure exceeding 140/90 mmHg. Among the many choices of antihypertensive drug classes, ARB is one of the first-line drug classes for the treatment of hypertension. Inappropriate ARB administration can reduce the effectiveness of treatment and harm the patient. This study aims to determine the pattern of ARB use in hypertensive patients. Methods. This drug pattern study has been done on October – November 2021 at the Outpatient Department of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Central Public Hospital Palembang. The sample was using the medical record data of all hypertensive patients period of July – December 2020 who met the inclusion criteria, with a total of 171 data. The data was processed by using the SPSS v25 and presented in the form of a table with a descriptive explanation referring to the research variables. Results. This study found that the prevalence of ARB use was 59.0% with the highest was in male (30.4%) and age group 41-60 years (29.2%). The most widely used ARB is candesartan (94.0%) at a dose of 16 mg (52.6%), frequency once a day (97.9%) and duration more than one month (93.7%). The drug prescribed to the patient mostly didn’t have interaction with ARB (33.0%). Conclusions. The prevalence of ARB administration is high in hypertensive patients (59.0%) with the most commonly used ARB is candesartan (94.0%).

Abstract

Diffuse large B cell lymphoma is a neoplasm arising from B lymphocytes and having a diffuse growth pattern. The nuclei cells showed a medium or similar or larger than the sizes of normal macrophages. This entity is the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) with incidence 30-40% from all NHL types. In Indonesia DLBCL cases was 68.2%, much higher than that in western countries (37%) and slightly higher than in other Asian countries (30-60%). Another data showed that in Indonesia there was 16.125 new NHL cases in 2020. This entity has diversity of molecular pathogenesis causes DLBCL showed some heterogeneity and similarities of clinical sign and symptoms, morphology and immunopheno types with other non-Hodgkin lymphomas. Therefore, some other molecular analysis such mutation events should be performed to achieve a correct diagnosis. All clinical data, morphologic immunhistochemical foundings have to be collected and analyzed and some additional molecular examination should be also conducted such as FISH analysis, PCR-based assay to exclude differential diagnosis. Some patients can be cured with a standard regimen Rituximab-Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine, and Prednisolone (R-CHOP). However, 40% of patients is refractory or relapse.

Abstract

BackgroundTumor microenvironmental of classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) containing plasma cells and angiogenesis, however their exact roles remained indeterminate. Plasma cells are important prognostic factors of various malignancies. Angiogenesis can be assessed by evaluating of micro vessel density (MVD). Higher MVD is associated with a poor prognosis in various type of malignancies. The objectives of this study were to investigate the density of plasma cells and MVD in the microenvironment of cHL and to determine the association of both components with the stage of cHL.Materials and methodsThe selected 37 paraffin blocks of cHL cases were sectioned. The clinical staging was performed using modification of Ann Arbor staging system. To assess the density of plasma and endothelial cells, anti-CD138 and anti-CD34 antibodies were employed by immunohistochemistry. The association of plasma cells’densities and MVD with cHL stages was measured by statistical analysis using t-test by STATA version 15 with significant consideration if p <0.05.ResultsIn our cohort cHL was occurred in slightly older patients (?40 years; 53.33%), more in male (60%), and majority with nodal location (86.67%). The subtypes was dominated by lymphocyte rich (43.33%); followed by nodular sclerosing (30%) and mixed cellularity (26.67%), while lymphocyte depleted was not found. Statistical analysis revealed that higher density of plasma cells was significantly correlated to the patient higher stages (p=0.0003). While density of micro vessels is not significant correlation (p=0.5564) to the stages of cHLConclusionHigh densities of plasma cells but not angiogenesis correlate to advance stage of Hodgkin lymphoma.
