Abstract

Mathematics as disciplines contributing to the development of the technology world has now reached the peak of sophistication in filling the needs of the various dimensions of human life. Evidence from the field suggests that the results of learning mathematics has always been at lower levels compared to other subjects. Facts on the ground indicate that the learning process is dilakukanoleh most teachers have only ranged delivery of content with lectures and notes. This resulted in the students quickly tired and bored with the learning of mathematics, especially for students in grade 1 primary school. To improve mathematics learning achievement in the subject matter of addition and subtraction of 2 digits, the authors use concrete objects learning media. Through the medium of this study are expected to mathematics learning achievement in the subject matter of addition and subtraction 2 numbers can be improved.This study uses a Class Action Research (PTK). The design of this research action research (Action Research) by using the spiral model. The stages in the implementation of this research is conducted through two cycles. In the classroom action research was used the analysis of quantitative data in the form of assessment of learning outcomes kognetif.Based on the results of research and discussion can be concluded that the concrete object learning media can enhance learning achievement of the addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers in Class IB Elementary School Bandungrejo 1 Semester 2 Karanganyar District of Demak second semester of the school year 2013/2014.?é?áKeywords: PTK, addition and subtraction, the method of concrete objects

Abstract

   This study generally aims to determine student’s reading comprehension, vocabulary mastery of the students, and the ability to write arguments class XI High School in Depok, particularly SMA Tugu Ibu 1 Depok, while specifically to get a picture of whether there is influence between reading comprehension student’s ability to write arguments, obtain information whether there is influence between students' vocabulary mastery of the ability to write arguments, get a picture there is influence reading comprehension and vocabulary skills of students to write arguments.This study is using a survey method with correlation technique based on a simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis. The population in this study amounted to 248 high school students of class XI Tugu Ibu 1 Depok Academic Year 2013/2014, which used a sample of 150 students. Data collection techniques using a multiple-choice test to determine the level of reading comprehension, vocabulary level, and essay tests to measure student’s ability to write arguments. Instrument trials conducted to 43 respondents. The validity test is using Point Biserial correlation technique, while the reliability test using the formula KR-20 (Kuder Richardson). Testing requirements analysis include normality test, heteroskedastisiti, multikolineariti test, and test the regression equation fits tuna.            Based on the research results can be obtained the following conclusions : (1) ability to significantly influence reading comprehension of written argumentation skills , (2) There is no significant influence of the vocabulary mastery of argumentation writing skills , (3) Variable reading comprehension ability and vocabulary control variables together significantly influential arguments against writing skills as much as 10 percent (R Square = 0.100). It is composed of a variable contribution of reading ability and understanding as much as 5 percent of the control variables vocabulary as much as 5 percent . When calculated as the relative contribution shows that it appears proficiency in reading comprehension and vocabulary accounted for 50 percent . Based thitung value (=6.721, = 2.847, and = -2.585) showed that mass sequentially from the regression coefficient B (multiple regression equation = 74.917 + 0.255 X1 (reading comprehension ability) - 0.337 X2 (mastery vocabulary)) , as well as floor (= 0.000,= 0.005, and = 0.011)  showed the first is the ability to read comprehension, secondly vocabulary mastery.Keywords: Learning Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary Mastery, Argumentation Writing Skill

Abstract

Selama ini, belum ada data yang akurat mengenai lulusan Program Studi Matematika IKIP PGRI Semarang baik yang bekerja pada sektor formal (guru, dosen, pegawai adaministrasi, dll.) maupun pada sektor informal. Padahal data mengenai profil lulusan suatu program studi sangat diperlukan antara lain untuk mengetahui: seberapa besar tingkat daya serap pasar terhadap lulusan, berapa jumlah pengangguran lulusan, kesesuaian antara subject matter dengan kebutuhan lapangan, perlunya revisi/ pembaharuan kurikulum. Studi pelacakan (tracer study) merupakan studi yang fokus utamanya untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai lulusan yang sudah bekerja maupun yang belum bekerja. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh lulusan Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika IKIP PGRI Semarang jenjang strata satu (S1) dari awal kelulusan yaitu tahun 2000 sampai dengan lulusan tahun 2005 yang berjumlah 800 orang. Dari populasi tersebut dipilih sampel secara acak 140 orang lulusan sebagai responden yang berdomisili di 7 kabupaten, yaitu Grobogan, Demak, Pati, Kudus, Kendal, Pekalongan, dan Batang.Data mengenai lulusan dengan seluruh atribut dan karakteristiknya dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan menggunakan pedoman wawancara, selain itu dengan menggunakan angket yang telah disusun sedemikian rupa untuk kebutuhan studi ini. Hasil yang diperoleh diantaranya: Seluruh responden bekerja sesuai dengan bidangnya, 100% lulusan telah bekerja dan 73% diantaranya telah mendapatkan pekerjaan tanpa masa tunggu, dan sisanya mendapatkan pekerjaan dengan masa tunggu berkisar antara 1-4 bulan, pendidikan di IKIP PGRI Semarang khususnya Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika telah sesuai dengan dunia kerja responden walaupun masih ada beberapa hal yang harus diperbaiki dan disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan di dunia kerja, dengan memperhatikan kendala yang dihadapi lulusan baik pada waktu mencari kerja maupun pada waktu bekerja, upaya yang dilakukan program studi/institut dituangkan dalam rekomendasi diantaranya: melakukan program reformulasi kurikulum, memberikan informasi bagi mahasiswa dan lulusan. ?é?á Kata Kunci: Lulusan, Tracer Study, Penyempurnaan Kurikulum

Abstract

Banyak siswa kurang dalam menulis yang salah satunya disebabkan oleh kebingungan dalam menuangkan ide yang dimiliki. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dimaksudkan sebagai penggunaan Metode Four Square Writing (FSW) untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskriptif teks di kelas X MIPA 6, SMA N 11 Semarang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menemukan respon siswa terhadap pelajaran dan mendeskripsikan hasil penerapan Metode FSW. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama tiga kali mencakup tes pra-siklus, tes siklus 1, dan tes siklus 2. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes. Tes digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskriptif teks setelah diberi perlakuan, dan observasi digunakan untuk memonitor kegiatan siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara qualitatif dan quantitatif. Tes Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Metode FSW berpengaruh pada respon siswa menjadi lebih aktif dan antusias dilihat dari persentase pengamatan di pra-siklus 40%, siklus 1 71,43%, dan siklus 2 85,71%. Peningkatan respon siswa dalam proses pembelajaran menjadikan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskriptif teks pun meningkat. Hasil tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil tes pra-siklus yang belum memenuhi KKM dengan persentase 11,11%. Dalam setiap siklus terjadi peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dimana hasil dari tes siklus 1 menjadi 63,89% dan tes siklus 2 menjadi 91,67%. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, disimpulkan bahwa Metode Four Square Writing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas X MIPA 6, SMA N 11 Semarang dalam menulis deskriptif teks.

Abstract

This research was conducted to be based on a problem that was considered crucial by the fourth grade teacher namely the mathematical problem. This research is felt to be carried out immediately because students get poor learning outcomes and low classical completeness. Because if left unchecked this problem will continue to the next level. After the researchers made observations, the root cause of the problem was found. Then researchers collaborate with class teachers looking for solutions to solve these problems. Learning with the RME model is chosen to treat existing problems. The learning outcomes of grade IV students of SDN Jomblang 03 Semarang in learning to solve mathematical problems after the RME model has been applied the aspects of skills and aspects of knowledge have increased. The skill aspect gained a 44% percentage of completeness in cycle I, increasing in cycle II 94%. Aspects of knowledge in the first cycle of 44% increased to 67% of the total number of students. It can be concluded that the improvement of research learning through the application of the RME model has been successful because it can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

AbstractBased on the test results and exercises for the students of class VIII E , find the main idea skills through intensive reading students held low . Students do not understand the process and how to read that well , to be able to find the main idea through intensive reading .The research was conducted in class VIII E the number of 38 students . Locations in SMP Negeri 1 Kebonagung Demak 2012/2013 school year between March to May 2013. The study was conducted in two cycles aimed to improve reading skills through intensive STAD method . Each cycle consisted of four stages , namely planning, action , observation , and reflection .Results from prasiklus , the average value reached 63.8 % grade with moderate category . In the first cycle class average value increased to 68.6 % with moderate category , meaning there was an increase of 4.8 prasiklus to cycle I. In the second cycle the average value reached 77.8 % grade with good category , meaning there an increase of 9.2 from the first cycle to the second cycle .Student achievement in reading intensive with STAD method followed by changes in student behavior to a more positive direction . This is evident from the results nontes which includes observation, journals , and interviews with students . The students were on prasiklus seemed less enthusiastic and lazing while following the classroom , in the first cycle and the second seemed to become more active , serious , and enthusiastic about learning the teacher .Keywords: STAD method , news articles, intensive readingAbstrakBerdasarkan hasil ulangan dan latihan bagi para siswa kelas VIII E, keterampilan menemukan gagasan utama melalui membaca intensif yang dimiliki para siswa masih rendah. Siswa kurang memahami proses dan cara membaca yang baik, agar mampu menemukan gagasan utama melalui membaca intensif.1 Hasil Penelitian 20132 Guru SMPN 1 Kebonagung2Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas VIII E dengan jumlah siswa 38 orang. Lokasi di SMP Negeri 1 Kebonagung Kabupaten Demak tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 antara bulan Maret sampai dengan Mei 2013. Penelitian yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca intensif melalui metode STAD. Setiap siklus yang dilakukan terdiri atas empat tahapan, yakni perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi.Hasil dari prasiklus, nilai rata-rata kelas mencapai 63,8 % dengan katagori sedang. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata kelas mengalami peningkatan menjadi 68,6 % dengan katagori sedang, artinya terjadi peningkatan 4,8 dari prasiklus ke siklus I. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas mencapai 77,8% dengan katagori baik, artinya ada peningkatan sebesar 9,2 dari siklus I ke siklus II.Prestasi siswa dalam membaca intensif dengan metode STAD diikuti oleh perubahan tingkah laku siswa ke arah yang lebih positif. Hal itu terlihat dari hasil nontes yang meliputi hasil observasi, jurnal, dan wawancara dengan para siswa. Para siswa yang pada prasiklus tampak kurang antusias dan bermalas-malasan ketika mengikuti pembelajaran di kelas, pada siklus I maupun II tampak berubah menjadi lebih aktif, serius, dan antusias dengan pembelajaran yang diberikan guru.Kata kunci: metode STAD, artikel berita, membaca intensif

Abstract

In the effort of improving the learning process, teachers must try to apply learning models that are appropriate to the character of the subjects so that the students are more active and learning becomes more meaningful. Based on data taken from the results of the daily tests of class VII J, as many as 67.65% of the students scored below the passing grade, and the average daily tests were 67.73. Factors causing the low learning outcomes are learning models that are still teacher-centered, so students are less active. Therefore we need an effort to improve the students’ activities and learning outcomes. This study aims to improve the students’ activities and learning outcomes in the Organizational System of Life through Guided Discovery Learning Model. The subjects of this study were the students of class VII J of SMPN 2 Demak, totaling 34 people, consisting of 10 men and 24 women. This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. The research is said to be successful if the average daily test minimum reaches passing grade (80), classical completeness is at least 80%, and the percentage of student activity is at least 75%. The data collection techniques are using student test results, observation sheets of teacher and student activities. The results showed an average grade of 82.0 in the first cycle and 90.9 in the second cycle. Completeness of classical learning outcomes reached 82.34% in the first cycle and 94.12% in the second cycle.

Abstract

The aims of the study are 1) to describe how dangling modifiers are used by the students in writing Research Findings and Discussion and 2) to give a solusion of the dangling modifiers produced by them. ?é?áThis study is descriptive qualitative research. The object of the study is the Final Projects, especially Research Findings and Discussion Chapter written by the English Education Department Students of University of PGRI Semarang in the academic year 2013/2014. The total number of the sample is 30 Final Projects, and purposive sampling is used in getting the sample. In collecting the data, the writers used non interactive method that is in the form of documentation. There are three components used in analyzing the data?óÔé¼ÔÇØreducing the data, presenting the data, and drawing conclusion. The result of this study shows that the writers found 39 sentences of the 22 Research Findings and Discussion indicated dangling modifier. There was no dangling modifier in 8 Research Findings and Discussion. The sentences indicated dangling modifier started with present participle, past participle, to infinitive, dan prepositional phrase. The dangling modifiers are because the inroductory phrases of the sentences did not refer to the subjects of the main clauses. In other words, the subjects of the main clauses did not match with the introductory phrases of the sentences or the parts ofmain clausewere in the form of expletive construction orpassive construction; as a result, thesubjects were not clear. In solving the problems of the dangling modifiers, the writers changed the subjects of the main clauses, so these matched with both the introductory phrases (modifiers) and the main clauses or added subordinating conjunctions and subjects (doer of action) on the introductory phrases, so these phrases became complete introductory clauses(adverbial clause). Then it is suggested for the advisors to improve the quality in guiding the students to write Research Findings and Discussion both in techniques to write them and/or the structures of the sentences, so the students can minimize the errors in writing sentences, especially dangling modifier. ?é?á Keywords: analysis,dangling modifier, Reserach Findings and Discussion

Abstract

Banyaknya peserta didik yang belum mencapai KKM sebesar 78 merupakan kondisi yang melatar belakangi dilakukannya penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian yaitu meningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia menggunakan model inkuiri pada siswa kelas V SDN no 104/IX Kedemangan. Jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua kali pertemuan di setiap siklusnya yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan penilaian tertulis berupa pedoman observasi keberhasilan aktivitas guru serta observasi keberhasilan aktivitas siswa. Teknik Analisis data menggunakan data primer berupa hasil tes ketuntasan belajar peserta didik yang dianalisis menggunakan tabulasi persentase dan data sekunder berupa hasil wawancara Bersama observer sebagai kolaborator. Sedangkan kriteria keberhasilan yaitu tercapainya ketuntasan belajar 100% secara individual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, ketuntasan belajar siswa yang semula 27% pada pra siklus meningkat menjadi 73% pada siklus I dengan keberhasilan aktivitas guru sebesar 70% dan keberhasilan aktivitas siswa sebesar 65%, pada siklus II ketuntasan belajar siswa kembali meningkat dengan ketuntasan klasikal 100% tuntas dengan nilai tertinggi 85, nilai terendah 80, dan rata-rata skor 82,81. Berdasarkan temuan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Inkuiri dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas V SDN 104/IX kedemangan. Kata kunci: Hasil Belajar; Model Inkuiri; Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Mathematics from year to year is developing as more improvement as complicated era. The complicated era suggest men to be more creative to develop or to implement mathematics as a basic field. In Learning mathematics, students often feel it difficult to learn, besides that the learning process has not been understandable. So the students consider understanding on the concept falsely conseqnently the achievement frends to be lower either as individually or classically compared with other subjects. The problem taken in this research are.Whether implementing Jigsaw learning model can improve students learning ?, Wheter implementing Jigsaw learning model can improve the activity students on?é?á VIII grade, SMP Negeri 21 Semarang, education Year 2010/2011. On the basic algebra materials. Based on the test result from the cycle 1 and cycle II indicate that there is an improvement of learning. The student target mark increases classically from the cycle 1 to the cycle II. On the cycle 1, the passing grade mark mark classically on VIIIE SMP Negeri 21 Semarang is amount of 59,09%, it has not been fiil classical target mark. It is more than 85% but after implementing the class research on the cycle II, there is an?é?á improvement classical target mark to be 90,91% and has been over it classically to be more than 85%. Some suggest given by the researcher on the result of the research, one of them is on the learning process so the teacher should use learning method which is precisely for every topic learning taught. In this research for the main topic of effective algebra is used Jigsaw learning method. The teacher should give motivation on how importance learning to the student. So that they always have desires to study. The students should be ready by themselves to follow learning?é?á process in the classroom using some various learning methods which are different for cartain material on the activity of learning prosess so that it can be improved.
