Abstract

This research intends to the classless society in Animal Farm. Therefore, the researchers analyzed how the reflection of the classless society in the novel. In analyzing this research, the researchers used a sociological approach to describes the classless society that is reflected in the novel Animal Farm. The researcher analyzes literary work based on the text and explains the sociological meaning by uses Marxist literary theory. The researcher analyzes the communism concept practiced and reflected to the society (farm) to create public welfare Moreover, the researcher used a qualitative method and descriptive analysis method in analyzing the data. There are two sources of data which are primary data and supporting data. The primary data was taken of the novel Orwell’s Animal Farm. Meanwhile, the supporting data were taken from book, journal, theses, and article. The result of this research is the researchers find the author’s way to reflected the classless society in the novel.

Abstract

Tract as a communication platform to call people to participate in demonstrations is still used by the French until 2019 in the Yellow Vest Movement. This proves the important usage of the track in France. The most important movement in French history that involves the utilization of tract was in Mai 68. By using it, the movement initiated by students of the University of Nanterre (May, 3rd 1968) was able to invite workers to join them on May 13 1968. However, it has a disadvantage due to paper usage: spatial limitations for the transmission of information. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the choice of words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and presentations. Use qualitative methods and literature study; this article describes the utilization of the function accessory in the tracts on May 13 68, based on the sentence structure theory by Le Querler (1994). In the tract, variations of function accessories are presented according to the amount of paper used and to the freedom of presentation of the sentence by the creator. As a result, its utilization and presentation in the tract help the various groups involved on May 13, 1968, to gain a better understanding of the reasons and objectives to be carried out in the movement.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research has a purpose to describe a morphological process called abbreviation. Abbreviation is a shortened form of a written word or phrase used in place of the whole word or phrase. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data are tweets in French which were taken on November 10 from Twitter. Overall, from the tweets those were found, there are twenty tweets which contain some words in abbreviated form. The result shows that there are five kinds of abbreviations that exist in those forty tweets, there are apocope, aphérèse, syncope, siglè, and acronyme. The most used abbreviation form is apocope which can be found in 14 tweets, meanwhile the least used one is aphérèse which is available in 4 of forty tweets.

Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the type of transitivity process, genre structure, and to show the dominant kind of process on the lyrics of German children song. This research is descriptive qualitative research and supported by quantitative data. The data sources of the study are the lyrics of the German children song. The population of this research is all of the clauses on the lyrics of German children song. The research sample is clauses in the lyrics of German children song.  The lyrics contain elements of transitivity sorted out purposively. The analysis used in this research is Halliday transitivity system analysis. The research finding indicated that (1) The type of process which was found in the analysis of the lyrics of German children’s song consists of six processes that are the relational process, the material process, the mental process, the verbal process, the existential process, and the behavioural process.  (2) The kind of genre was found on the lyrics of German children’s song was two kinds of a genre that is narrative genre and stories genre. The result of the analysis of genre structure on the lyrics of German children’s song concluded that were not all of the elements of the genre structure were found on the lyrics. (3) The dominated process is the relational process that was represented by human and environmental social life.

Abstract

The stereotype is a problem that we found when examining Michel Houllebecq's work entitled Soumission. As a form of prejudice against a particular ethnic / race or group, in this case, an Islamic group, this discourse is wrapped up in story elements. Therefore, to prove this thesis, this study is entitled "Islamic Stereotypes in Soumission by Michel Houllebecq". The aim is to describe the stereotypes of Islam that were built in the Soumission. The data collected was carried out using Albertine Minderop's characterization approach, namely: direct characterization (telling) and indirect characterization (showing), and also using the Luxembourg functional theory, connection events, and reference events by combining the concepts of Barthes sequences. The results showed that in the elements of the story, such as characters and characterizations as well as the flow of events showed Islamic stereotypes; that Islam is synonymous with terrorism, Islam legalizes polygamy, (women) Islam is fanatical about its religion, and Islam restricts women's rights.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the form, meaning, and value of pappaseng in Lontara 'Latoa: Kajao Laliddong with Arummpone by using Paul Ricouer's hermeneutic approach. This research is a qualitative research. The research data are in the form of Lontara 'Latoa: Kajao Laliddong and Arummpone texts. Data collection method used by the author is a library method by gathering information relevant to the topic or problem to be or is being studied. That information can be obtained from scientific books, research reports, scientific essays, theses and dissertations, regulations, provisions, yearbooks, encyclopedias, and written sources both printed and electronic. Data were analyzed using Paul Ricouer's hermeneutic analysis. The results of this study indicate the form of pappaseng in the form of dialogue discourse consisting of expressions and proverbs. The meaning of Pappaseng that was found consisted of three, namely the description of the characteristics of a good leader, a sign of the triumph of the state, and a characteristic of the destruction of the state. These three meanings gave birth to Bugis values including: honesty (alêmpureng), intellectual value (amaccangêng), firmness value (agêttêngêng), and family and love values (assiajingêng).

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the perspective of PGSD students towards Malay traditional subjects in preserving the Malay Malay culture of Jambi. This research was conducted in October to December 2019. This research was a descriptive qualitative study. The subjects in this study were PGSD University of Jambi students, data collection in this study using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of a study of PGSD Jambi University students showed that in the Jambi Malay customary course, students fully supported the Malay customary course program in preserving the Malay culture in Jambi. But there are still many shortcomings in preserving this matter, namely from the lack of facilities and infrastructures that are still inadequate and also the schedule of other solid courses so as to give a time limit for students in preserving Jambi culture.

Abstract

Inequality in inhabitants is one of the negative impacts of uneven development that causes poverty. In 2007, the Indonesian government has been striving to accelerate poverty reduction through the Family Hope Program (PKH) with the Conditional Direct Cash Assistance (BLTB) scheme, known internationally as the Cash Conditional Transfer (CCT). All this time, various studies have assessed that the program has succeeded in encouraging the participation of beneficiary families in achieving welfare in Indonesia. However the facts showed that there is an poverty increase  in the city of Mataram after earthquake, even though the family hope program runs normally. Therefore, this research was conducted to see the strength of the  social assistance influence on one indicator of welfare, education participation after the earthquake. The survey method was used to obtain information on the distribution of 122 KPM PKH respondents in Bertais village, where the location was severely affected. The results showed that the significance of the influence on cash assistance on the level of education participation was 0.775 or 77.5%. Meanwhile, the significance effect  of assistance services on the level of education participation was 0.687 or 68.7%. There is a positive influence on the variable of social assistance (dependent) on educational participation and childcare (independent). Thus it can be concluded that the earthquake did not disturb the PKH cycle so much that it did not become one of the factors causing the increase in poverty in the City of Mataram.

Abstract

Indonesian culture is very diverse with forms ranging from dance, batik cloth, folklore, folk music and songs, traditional clothing, traditional houses, traditional food and drinks, traditional games, performing arts, rituals and so on. At the writing of this library research, the researcher focused on folk songs that are famous in West Java. The title song is Tokecang. The thing related to this song is that a simple song sung by children has a deep meaning. In this literature review, researchers associate Tokecang songs with the formation of children's characters. The formation of children's characters in the Tokecang song teaches that we, as social beings, must have an attitude of affection and social care. Affection is an emotional reaction to a person, animal, or object.

Abstract

This research aims to elaborate the The social circumstances and psychological analysis which are existing in Madame Bouvary.  Therefore, the researcher will analyze how social circumstance influences the psychological condition of Emma as the main character of this work. In order to analyze this research, the researcher utilizes the literary psychology approach  as the main theory. Besides, to strengthen the psychological analysis in this work, the researcher uses Abbraham Mashlow theory as the additional perspective. Furthermore, the researcher uses qualitative methodology both for collecting data and analyzing data. In collecting the primary data, the researcher gathers the information through the work and for collecting the supporting data, the researcher collects it from books which related to this research. The results research shows that the social circumstance in the novel has been influencing Emma’s characteristics in some particular aspects such as (1) psychological needs, (2) savety needs, (3) the love and belonging needs, (4) self estem, and (5) self actualization.
